My Mom and I discussed it and Cadence is going to go ahead and stay an extra week with her to save the $250 I would have spent on day camp for next week. I'm trying to get everything organized and cleaned up at the house so that when school starts Cadence has an organized space to work.

Morning. I had PT this morning and broke down a little during a relaxation exercise, she told me to go let go of what happened in the past and to go my happy place and remember why i was so happy there (so corny I know) cue all the tears, apparently I had a lot of build up tension in me/my body. I felt a little embarrassed...
We’re on day two of the heat wave, 5 more days to go before it’ll go down a little, help me... the kids will be home in ten minutes and I’m not slaving over a stove in this heat, so veggies and hotdogs it is!

Happy Friday ladies!
Ugh. My period of being fully caught up at work was short-lived. We're overloaded with cases again. For part of it, it just is what it is. The other type of cases my boss could very easily address it but won't. It's so frustrating.
I have to do a telephonic court appearance this weekend and I'm nervous. I talk to the defense lawyers today and I have no clue what about. I'm going to call the prosecutors again because we last talked two months ago when the trial was originally being held but was pushed back. I'll be happy when it's done.
I bought a raft. Totally random. We have a bunch of lakes around here plus the Sound. I've always wanted something like this and 'Rona definitely pushed it forward. So that will be our entertainment this weekend.

M and I went back to school shopping this morning and picked up my grocery order. Now headed home to figure out lunch and hopefully go to a park.

We’ve told her she has to do swim classes first . We did buy her her first first ballet shoes last December. cagoldi know we’re thinking of you.

Hi girls!
I finally caught a brief minute to check-in.
How is everyone? What are the updates?
We’re doing well here, just busier than ever. We had to cobble together a bunch of therapies for X since the district just abandoned everyone with an IEP, but it’s been working out well so far.
Dude has started to develop some pretty severe anxiety. We took him to his pedi yesterday (she has known him since birth), and she looked at him for about two minutes before deciding he needs a full neuropsychological evaluation for ASD, ADHD, and OCD. So, the ball is rolling with that.🤷♀️ He has been doing great, but I think the stress of this whole situation put him over the edge and whatever latent traits and tendencies were there just came roaring out. I wasn’t sure that diagnosis would ever be necessary, but we’re here now so we’ll see what happens, I guess.
Tim and I have decided to open our own 💯 outdoor, inclusive forest preschool, so we’ve been working like crazy on getting that up and running. Obviously, being exposed to more kids is not ideal given my health conditions, but I feel like it’s something we need to offer since schools aren’t reopening. I love the philosophy (always have), and it is a delivery model that minimizes risk of transmission.

inthekitty are you having to testify about a patient or something? (I totally understand you may not be permitted to say much, if anything)

So its been a crazy, manic work day - hence me not getting a chance to log in until now. I was able to get to yoga class this morning but all my zen is gone as I fight fires at work. No plans for the wknd but sure glad its Friday!

Wow cagoldi you’ve got a lot on your plate! Sounds like things are going well with Tim. I hope the evals will shed some light for y’all and A and hopefully you can find some strategies that will help him learn to manage his anxiety, etc. And Congrats on your new venture! A friend of mine’s kids attended an elementary school like that in CO and she raved about it.

Hey. Casual day here. My sister and her kids are coming to visit today and will stay with us for the weekend. The guest room is still a massive mess so that’ll be fun to deal with later. I can’t lift the mattress on my own so either she or dh will have to help. I need to run to fleet farm after lunch to pick up some fertilizer and we will check out the toy section because H is going to a birthday party tomorrow and needs a gift. My bff is doing this birthday party thing tonight so I may try to sneak out for a bit but I’m not sure yet because it’s during witching hour and there might be a lot of people.

cagoldi congratulations on the school! That’s so exciting. Are you continuing with your own degree also or putting that on hold to do this instead? Is T in CA for good now? Hope all goes well with A’s appointments.

DD had her neurologist appointment this morning. We are going to try the daily antihistamines for a few weeks then talk. Maybe tgrimes should be my medical school buddy, she suggested those like a year ago. The neurologist was surprised the pharmacy would not dispense the codeine last week. She said they used to use it like water but now it has a black box warning about potential breathing problems in children. She didn’t prescribe it though and wants me to talk to GI about other pain relief options.

I wouldn't have known about it if one of my nurse friends hadn't researched it for me when M was having all of her GI issues. I know it sucks to take a daily preventative medication, but hopefully it will limit her migraines and be completely worth it.

Hi!
I got some housework done this morning, then DH got home around 11 so we took the kids out to lunch and Home Depot.
All the bathrooms in our house are a mix of finishes so we’re trying to update/coordinate it all. We got new fixtures for the kids bath to start. We also got a new toilet for the guest bath (you know when you start researching toilets you’re #officiallyanadultnow) All our toilets are off-white/ivory so we’re going to experiment on this one and begin the conversion process to all plain white. I figure if we screw up, we call a plumber to save us from ourselves.

Godspeed. Thanks. DH has done his homework and given the age and setup of our bathrooms, it seems fairly straightforward. Famous last words, tho...By this time tomorrow, we should know whether we’re calling in the pro 😬

I was thinking of coordinating all the open areas if I like the brass and keeping all the bathrooms the same. Would I need to update door knobs and stuff too? So much to think about before making a change.

So much to think about before making a change. I'm good with doorknobs being different...it's such a minor detail in the grand scheme. A lot (most?) designers mix metals...I would just try and keep each room fairly consistent or areas that flow into each other (i.e., kitchen and family room built-ins) coordinating. I think you can definitely leave the bathrooms alone. And even in your kitchen, for ex., I think brass cabinet hardware and a bronze or silver faucet are fine. We have a bit of a hot mess here...cabinet pulls throughout the house are a pewter color. Bathroom light fixtures are all kind of a rusty color...desert southwest? Tuscan? Very early 2000s. Then bathroom faucets, etc. are all chrome with gold accents. Not really sure what look they were going for, but it's not working

New toilet live blog: things were coming along swimmingly, until DH unboxed the new one and found the tank is cracked. So back to Home Depot. But otherwise, the removal and clean-up was super easy and it wasn't as disgusting as one would think.

GL w your ventures flamingo! MH wants to tear out carpet himself and lay hardwood in our formal LR. I’m kind of worried about that....
