Hi. This is not my first motivation post read, but is my first post. I'm officially 3 months (and a bit) postpartum and am working really hard to figure out the right balance for milk production and not gaining a bunch of weight. So far the milk production has been good at the expense of the scale. Yesterday I joined weight watchers for tracking and am trying to get to 10k steps per day. I am also doing a little midday core strengthening on my office floor in hopes of having a core. Post-baby I'm still at -10 core strength.

pearbear that’s what I try to do. Like I had two glasses of sangria last night and ordinarily I’d be like well I blew it so eat everything in the house omgggg But I’m focusing on the mind body benefits of exercise and growing stronger and seeing the same weights become easier over times etc vs the scale. TW I actually thought I was an plus binge without purge but turns out laxatives is a purge method I had no idea. The past few years have been something. Seriously four or so years ago I would sometimes grad my girls’ underwear from the laundry if I was in a rush to get to work and they fit and they were 5 years old! Like hello what was I thinking. Anyway I finished day 2 and my arms feel like noodles but I’m proud.

I also have medical condition where if I do too much I flare so bad I can’t do anything and so I try to balance but I’m all or nothing type person and it’s hard. So I was going to try every other day but failed to skip a day. That’s why dh gets worried too he sees when I push too much what happens. And I don’t mean like running five hours. I’ve done three straight days of moderate intensity bike ride at 20 min and been barely able to walk for a week so I don’t know what to do.

I did 3 easy treadmill miles this morning and I’m heading to the pool shortly. We leave for Maine on Saturday, so I’m trying to run every day until then since I don’t know how much I’ll be able to do when we’re there.

Just did a 20 minute Peloton dance cardio. I'm extremely uncoordinated, but it was fun! Having some plan Greek yogurt with honey and frozen blueberries. I’m unreasonably excited you joined lol. If you have any questions about the programs or need instructor recommendations or anything, let us know!

I did Ally's 20 min 90s Rock Ride (from 8/4), which was so, so tough. I repeated Sam's 5 min post-ride stretch from 8/2, and since I wanted to get in some kind of strength training and get my Pelethon Week 4 badge (because it's all about the badges LOL), I added on Chase's 10 min Pelethon 2020 Strength (8/3). After Ally's ride, 10 minutes was PLENTY and worked everything.

I really like all the variety, and it goes feel like OTF at home so far, which is nice. If anyone has recommendations of spin instructors that don't stand up much, that would help. I think that's my best bet with my upright. I don’t do a ton of spin so I’m no help there but know lots of other people here do. Hopefully someone will have some recs!

I think that's my best bet with my upright. One option is to filter on low impact rides as Peleton defines those as taking place primarily in the saddle. I can attest that low-impact does not mean low effort or low sweat or low amount of "OMG, this sucks!" ranting during the ride. I haven't tried out everyone yet, but thus far, I love Olivia and Emma, especially for low-impact.

canteverremember, that’s so great that you want to try IE! I would caution against jumping in right off the bat. A lot of people think it’s just eat when hungry/stop when full and eat whatever you want but there is a lot of background work that goes into regaining that healthy relationship with food (the why of the food choices). It’s used a lot in ED recovery now, so it should not be triggering for you. But with your history, I’d strongly suggest going through the whole process and reading or working with someone. Many people are like “I’ll just dive in!” and end up feeling defeated bc it “didn’t work for them”. Not to sound corny but it’s absolutely a journey, not a destination. Let me know if you have any Qs! This the book it’s all based on: read.macmillan.com/lp/intuitive-eating-4th-edition/ The eBook is like $8.

They're all good in their own way though.

The weather this morning is my most favorite weather ever (foggy with mist in the air like at the beach) so after I walked the dogs I dropped them off and went for a run. One silver lining of work from home is that I could pivot my schedule on a dime. I’m so glad I did. I remembered that I love running in the morning. It works so much better for my body and brain. So now it’s 8:30 and I already have 7K steps. Woohoo!

pearbear, I hear ya on the midday naps. I fell into this habit while WFH and as good as it sounds at the moment, it made me groggy and messed with my nighttime sleep. truckerhat 6 straight months of closed Apple rings?! awesome! I love meeting goals like this. canteverremember, welcome abroad! I had a couple not feeling great days (tummy trouble) that prevented real workouts. Not being able to workout, how and when I want, makes me frustrated. Really made me feel for those with chronic issues. Got my biking miles in and did some kayaking.

There’s a peloton teacher fb group? Hold please while I go find it, lol. Cute shirt! It's Peloton Teacher Warriors. Also, just be warned that 98% of the discussion right now is covid and returning-to-school related. That sounds like a lot of discussions in my real life right now!

It could have been better but I eat so many onebars that its just nice to have a different flavor. I wish it had more graham flavor.

Did my workout early this morning (HIIT + Abs), and tried a smoothie with my protein/coffee/banana. Not a fan.
Also the last two days I've replaced my evening Gin & Tonic with a cookie. Oops.

I just finished up Jess Sims 30 minute pop fun run. The playlist was fabulous. My uterus, hips, and baby were totally good with whatever I felt like doing. My legs, no so much. My arches have been tight and today my calves were pretty angry about it. I even jumped off about a third of the way through to stretch for a couple minutes. I did two 5 minute post stretches. I was going to do ten minutes of arms but my big kid started yelling for me. The weather is super nice today though so I'm going to get us all ready and find a playground I think. We need some outside time with less screens. Protein shake Protein bar Salmon salad Peach GrubHub something unhealthy I’m planning on doing this run tomorrow! The playlist looks amazing and it’s just the thing I need to motivate me to get out of bed. I’m excited!

Peloton dance? Maybe I need to sign up again I was so so so bad at it 😂 the dogs were frightened. But I enjoyed it! I think there are others too. Lol at “the dogs were frightened” 😂. It would be like that here too! Also: “mom. You’re not doing it right.”

Okay, I will have to check out the Peleton dance classes.
As an aside, I used to do those at the Y and at another local place and enjoyed myself (read, LOL at myself) and before Peleton, I'd been putting together different YT playlists with dance workouts set to songs I like. Some faves are The Fitness Marshall ("No Tears Left to Cry" was a frequent choice), REFIT Revolution, and MadFit.

I started my free Peloton app trial today, I am now one with the cult. Just a junior member, though, I don’t own a treadmill or bike, and no plans to get one. If anyone has recommendations for no-equipment cardio or HIIT workouts, I’d love to hear them! All I have at home is a mat, no hand weights.
I did a 20-minute cardio workout this morning I really enjoyed, then my 5yo and I did a 15-minute family one that was fun too.

Burpee and burst EMOM done! The weather is perfect today so I’m trying to decide what else I want to do. Run, walk, hike? Maybe all of the above? Who knows.
