We’ve waited this long for the school announcement... and his decision is to let each district make their own decision. 🙄 you couldn’t have said this earlier to give our schools more time to plan? So not sure when we’ll have an actual answer

I just spoke to C. He is having a great time and doesn’t want to come home ever. I think his cousins are leaving tomorrow evening so hopefully once he sees they are gone he will be happy to see us Saturday.
Dh went to work late today and took our old furniture to furnish an apartment for some youth getting housing. The pandemic has had its positives in this way. Landlords in the city are having trouble getting renters since so many schools are going virtual this year. So dh has been able to secure some great places that are safe and convenient to house people. The city has been great about funding the program and its guaranteed money for the landlord for a year. It’s a win win all around and I’m happy our furniture will have a second life.

Right, but I’m pretty sure H got a script for hydrocodone after her tonsil surgery. It’s the same classification of drugs. Different state, different laws probably? I know NJ, at one time, had the strictest laws on opioids. Whatever it is, I hope kim22 can get it straightened out if it helps curb the migraine pain. Probably some law here. When I had my last baby, they kept giving me just Tylenol. I called my friend who works in l&d at that hospital and she said they now can only give Percocet if you specifically request it, the nurses can’t offer it. (Probably part of the new policy they adopted after they overdosed me the day DD was born). When I had my kidney surgery, I was only allowed 10 pills at a time in my prescription. The doctor called to check in. There is really nothing more she can do except the preventive that is in the Benadryl family. I have an appointment with the neurologist next week that was already scheduled months ago so we will see if she has any other ideas.

Yes, at least for the rest of the summer as summer seems to be the worst for her. I don’t think I want her on it forever but if we can prevent a repeat of the past 48 hours, I’d definitely try it.

Our principal held a Zoom thing over lunch today. It was nice and I got my questions answered. I love our school and I'm very comfortable sending Cadence back if we ever get the chance to. Apparently Cadence's new teacher will be calling us on the 12th and then have a Zoom meet the teacher/class for the kids before school starts. The one annoying thing was that people kept showing up late and asking questions that had already been covered. Show up on time, or wait for the recording of it to be posted!

kim22 probably unethical and breaking some laws or something, but can the doctor prescribed them to you and then you give them to her? I mean the doctor obviously feels she needs them.

kim22 how frustrating for you and your daughter. I get the opiod crisis, but come on, clearly she isn't abusing them. I hope you find something to help her! wedding how much fun for C! I'm glad he's having a great time! And thats awesome that this pandemic is having a positive in some way, and helping people out. No nap, kid is going strong. But I think we will all be in bed early tonight!

slenle that's frustrating. I hope you find out soon. klong11, the people late to meetings (virtual or not) and then dominate with stupid questions/things already addressed grate on my nerves. Someone did that at Cass's end of the school year Zoom. First time they ever bothered to show up to one of the Zoom meetings, comes on 15 minutes late, and won't shut up about her own technical issues.

FML. School switched from being 2 days a week (which I was happy with because they had a lot of safeguards in place and there'd only be about ~10 kids in a class) to full DL at least midway through NOV. *sign* I anticipated this but it sucks.
Plus I found out that for telework some get to start next week, because of my boss' scheduling FU I can't start until the following week and it's only 2 days a week. I really hope he pushes for more than that quickly especially given the school situation.

If you need something entertaining to watch, 'Floor is Lava' is what we have watched all afternoon. There have been some good laughs.

So our governor gave guidance with a formula. But it’s still up to each district to decide what to do. Our number falls well within the “full in person” range. And the next step is still full in person for elementary. I’m comfortable with this decision and so very excited for them to be back in school. So now we wait and see what the official decision is

MH is due at home in about 10 min. I’ve managed to keep it a secret so the kids have no idea and they’re going to freak! I told him to sneak in the front door, I cannot wait and hope I am able to get it on video.
It’s been a long 7 months.

I saw cagoldi today. She looks amazing. A and L had a play date at her place. L had a blast and wants to go again.
Work has been insane. I can’t wait for this project to be over.
