We are home and just finished lunch. The nurse said most kids take a 2 hour nap as the meds wear off. I have a feeling evil won't take one.
They said she did great, when they first went in, she pulled her knee up, so they gave her lots of pain meds. The Dr ended up injecting her from both sides of the knee due to the thickness of the membrane. Really hoping this helps.

inthekitty I have a real problem with Bezos and try really really hard to not line his pockets. Sometimes I cant avoid it but most of the time, I find other ways and just cannot support his greedy ass. I also read this week that since the beginning of 2020 his ex wife has donated 1.7bn to worthy causes. Clearly their values dont align and I praise her for getting her cash and getting the fuck out so she can live her best philanthropic life.

Enjoy the kid free night nam2013 ! That shopping trip sounds great flamingo ! I love a good sale, I feel so accomplished after I score a deal, lol. Which reminds me, our state is going to offer tax free shopping week again - I wasn’t sure if they could budget for that with all the UI claims etc from COVD. Anyhow, I am going to save my back to school shopping til then. Alert for tallb as well. Starts Aug 9. Glad to hear she did great mwhip .

I am realizing that there is a 2 week block from when summer camp ends for the kids and school starts up. I really need to get something together. I will be WFH of course, but I don’t want a repeat of spring, where I am shouting at them in btwn conf calls and they are running feral thru the neighborhood. We did have a nanny come a couple days a week for a few hours but I am worried she might be “back” at college during that time. Ugh

mwhip, crossing my fingers it works for her. vino I don't order a lot from Amazon, but it's definitely one of my go-tos when I need to shop. I need to work on alternatives because I think Bezos is a greedy asswipe.

Hello. Thanks for all the love yesterday. We are slowly pulling ourselves together. DD had a few more rough hours last night. The Er the other night was the first time we were not in a pediatric ER. The doctor gave her Tylenol with codeine and it’s the only thing that ever gave her relief with an attack. He gave me a prescription for more so when it started up again yesterday, I went to fill it only to find out the pharmacy will not fill narcotics for children and told me the doctor never should have given it to her and they tried to sell me children’s Motrin. I get it but it’s frustrating to watch your kid suffer for 48 hours when you know there is a quick fix. She was maxed out on her migraine meds, zofran, Tylenol, and Motrin. The on call doctor I paged last night added mylanta. None of it made any difference. lahdeedah I couldn’t get her upper GI appointment until the end of August but the doctor’s office is going to try to call for me and see if they can get something sooner. My sil who had the tumor removed is going home today! Niece and bil with covid are doing okay, just very fatigued.

mamabear I didn't get a chance to respond yesterday but I understand the potty training issues. B is going to be 4 next week and is still not potty trained. If we tell him to go, about 50% of the time he will, but he will never initiate it on his own and he couldn't care less if he is wet or has poop in his diaper. We have tried EVERYTHING (candy, praise, stickers, toys, etc) and it just doesn't motivate him. I am dreading his 4 y/o well visit b/c I know they will give me a hard time about it. He just genuinely doesn't care. Also to whoever said about giving their kid a diaper for poops ( lahdeedah maybe?), S did that when he was first potty trained. He was extremely self aware of it and would just come up and ask for the diaper, poop, then tell me he was done. It lasted a week or 2 till we were out and he had to poop and he had to poop on the potty. He did it then and there was no turning back.

Speaking of poop, Charlie finally pooped after a week (a week!) I called the dr on Tuesday and she suggested miralax in the mornings and to avoid dairy. They wanted to see him tomorrow if nothing changed, but in true Charlie fashion, he said nothing was bothering him, he was eating normally, and said he’d go when he felt he had to. I got nervous this morning and called again and while I was on hold, he just walked into the half bath and pooped like it was nothing. I dont understand his digestive system.

I realized yesterday that Prime Day didn't happen this year. It's my holiday that usually starts off my Christmas shopping (I know, I buy things here and there). At the beginning of the Rona cancellations were big announcements. Now they're just silently cancelling stuff. I eye roll hard at Bezos though. At the start of this Amazon said Prime shipping will no longer happen because of them being "heroes" and prioritizing shipping medical supplies. In theory I have no problem with this. But Amazon is a billion dollar company. I'm not doing charity for Amazon. If you're removing a service I paid for you better reimburse me for it when you're making record profits. I think it's crap that they haven't offered to extend Prime memberships. have you not been getting stuff 'prime'? We saw some delays when Corona first got bad in March but it's been normal lately, at least for stuff I've been ordering. (Related sidenote: did you know Amazon offers a military price for prime every year around Veterans Day? We had no clue til this past year but took advantage, I think it was around $70 instead of the normal $100+ ) I don't love Amazon/Jeff Bezos, so we held off on getting Prime for a long, long time but eventually caved. WalMart is supposedly rolling out something similar and while I'm not a huge WalMart shopper I hope the competition will give Amazon a run for their money, if nothing else.

B had tennis this morning and is asking for lessons again this fall so guess he’s enjoying it! C and I went to Dillard’s (alert lahdeedah, sale starts today! 😂) Got B some stuff for next spring/summer and a few dresses for C for back-to-school. Regularly in the $50-60 range and I got them for between $12-20 🙌🏻 They announced we were getting a Dillard’s here like a year ago. Last time I was by the mall it didn’t even look like they had started remodeling to put it in. Annoying.

DH was worried about not being able to get off work because it’s a blackout week (like christmas) but no problem this year.

I have definitely gotten refills for my kids after procedures and had no issues. Weird.

mwhip, glad it’s over and Evie rests all afternoon. How soon will Evie know if the pain has lessened? I think we base it off swelling. We are to continue naproxen twice daily until her rheumatologist tells us otherwise. The dr put some numbing stuff in the knee with the steroid so she feels no pain in it now. We go back to the rheumatologist 8/24.

I would like to cancel my membership, but I don’t think I’m ready for that yet. Maybe next year.

Hi! Work was kind of slow this morning. I need to do some personal stuff this afternoon so I better get to it. MH sent me a pic of the backsplash up, but not grouted and I’m scared. It looks different than what I thought, but could just be the lighting in the pic and it not being grouted. I hope I love it when I see it in person. 😬

Why wouldn’t they fill narcotics for kids? I have definitely gotten refills for my kids after procedures and had no issues. Weird. I think it's because of the codeine. Right, but I’m pretty sure H got a script for hydrocodone after her tonsil surgery. It’s the same classification of drugs.

Different state, different laws probably? I know NJ, at one time, had the strictest laws on opioids. Whatever it is, I hope kim22 can get it straightened out if it helps curb the migraine pain.

IIRC last year, they basically added it to our account, so when our existing subscription expired, the new/cheaper one started. And you have to call, can't access it anywhere online that I remember.

kim22 Sorry you couldn’t get the meds that work for DD. Poor girl. I asked the XR tech and she said our protocol is to do both the thin and thick barium. It’s doesn’t taste great, but they don’t have to drink a lot of it. Every hospital will have their own protocol, but hopefully it will be quick if she doesn’t have to intake a lot of it.
