honeylemon, careful, it's easy to get hooked! My first quilt was all squares, using fabric my grandma gave me. Super easy, and I never looked back. alwayscheese, love the colors! I admire your persistence, I really hate sewing HSTs, much less that many of them.

Jealous of the quilters! I need to take a class or something. You can definitely make it advanced but it's really easy to start and do simple ones if you can sew. I did an online tutorial on craftsy that was free. I watched most the videos and used that to learn. It goes through all the basic supplies You need and everything, it was really great. I really struggle with bias tape so I usually find away around using it, one day I will master that though! Here is the free class: www.craftsy.com/quilting/classes/piece-patch-quilt-basic-quiltmaking-skills/35355

I finished this today. I'd like it to be wider though so I can pull the front together without stretching it. I think I'll add a few rows to the "collar" part to help. Ignore my non matching yellow pineapple scarf lol.

This is the quilt I have been working on. It is a Dresden Plate. I'm trying quilt as you go for the first time. I have all the fans sewn together, now I am mounting them on the muslin and quilting them in place. 8 down, 16 to go. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

Made a bapron today! I've been looking for a bigger bib so see how I like this and then make more if I do. Also confronting my fear on bias tape. Ina action:

Love all your shared projects/wips!
So envious of those of you who sew and quilt. My mum used to do both when I was a kid. I rrally should get a sewing machine and ask her to teach me the beginner skills. How awesome would it be to be able to make a simple quilt or even just some small wall art pieces or a pillowcase for in thr nursery...

Jealous of the quilters! I need to take a class or something. It is mostly pretty easy, I usually just do squares and rectangles in my quilts, so it is just sewing straight lines. I taught myself using the tutorials on crazymomquilts.blogspot.com I love her work!

Idk what is wrong with me that I find that such a challenge, but the hardest part of sewing in general for me is cutting in a straight line.

jewel Me too! The cutting is the worst part! I've used a lot of precut fabric to avoid cutting.
