How is the kitchen reno coming along lahdeedah? You said it was backsplash this week, right? Yes! Backsplash going in tomorrow and it will be done hopefully. He has to adjust the lip around the drain on the sink. I also need to finish painting. Because I got called in to work last week, I never finished the drawers and island. I do have a question if anyone wants to indulge me. I don’t think I want to put the white socket plates back up. Thinking of a stainless or something similar to blend in. Thoughts? Backsplash similar to this pic I posted a while back.  |

lahdeedah, will the cabinets be white like in the pic? If so I think white sockets would be fine.

I agree with inthekitty that if the cabinets are white, it's fine to leave the sockets white, too. I've seen a few houses where they've changed the outlets to stainless steel and it does look pretty with all of the other appliances being stainless steel, as well.

I was just searching and it looks like you can only get grey, black, or just the white sockets. And the stainless plates. I think I may just keep the white. |

lahdeedah, I did some google searches and I like the white on white for your kitchen. I saw some pics of the black with stainless steel plates and they look sharp but I think your kitchen it too light for that and they'd stick out a ton. I'm no designer though.

Happy anniversary wedding! Evies Covid test was easy, it was a nasal swab but right inside both nostrils. Dropped some stuff off at my office and H wanted to stop at a dealership and look at a truck. We have been negotiating for 2 hours...I hate car shopping. We are now waiting to sign finance papers. I love trucks. What did he get? |

I've been watching Mac and Me in the evening (poor man's E.T.) the girls are only mildly interested. I saw that Practical Magic is available through Prime. We'll watch that soon. I think they'll love it.

Thanks for the input ladies! I’ll keep the white. I guess I just wanted those to be updated since everything else is so #new and updated. I’ll focus my energy on finding new hardware if I can ever get to the hardware store.

They get grimy and you might find ones with a nicer edge or finish or something. |

We finally signed papers and got lunch, which is good because Evie and I were getting HANGRY! FWIW, my husband has LOVED his Silverado. Loved. He's replacing it this year when he gets back from deployment just b/c we've kind of outgrown it for travel, etc., but it's been a really good, reliable vehicle. |

One of my aunt's had brain surgery today. She got hit in the forehead at work and started having headaches and dizziness. They did an MRI and she actually had a large tumor on her brain stem, completely unrelated to the hit in the head. She had surgery this afternoon and they just got finished. They were able to remove 90-95% of it. Pathology will be able to determine if it's cancer or not. She'll be in ICU for awhile, with a drain tube for the next 72hours for any spinal fluid to drain.
It's so crazy. Had she not gotten hit, she never would have even known about it.

I am several days behind but we have had a really rough couple of days. My niece and BIL have covid, BIL spent 2 nights in the hospital but is home now. My SIL who has the disease that causes tumors had surgery 14 yesterday to remove a tumor from her spine. DH had to take FIL for a colonoscopy at 6 am today and DD had one of her stomach episodes last night while we were at the beach house and we ended up in the ER. I’m so over 2020.

I think with your backsplash the stainless may look out of place. |
