klong11 Ugh. They need to get it together. yummeecookee Glad everything went through. I’m sure it will work out! Parenting in regards to school decisions are hard right now. +whatever to my kids wanting a pet. The boys want a dog and I would like to have one, but I think I want to wait another year or two.

Hi!
We made it back yesterday and I’m at work today. I don’t know why I’m here. They don’t really need me and I have fifty eleven things to do at home.

My big girls both want a cat and dog. I am open to it but dh is not having it. Eventually we’ll break him down. I am finally at a chiro appt to get my back and pelvis back into alignment. Hopefully V makes it through without fussing. I promised the girls fast food when we’re done and then we’ll head back home. inthekitty DH’s aunt and uncle have a cavalier and he’s a sweetheart. They had one before him that passed away and immediately got another one.

klong11 so frustrating, I hope you can get ahold of someone soon. Welcome back/glad you made it safely home lahdeedah and mwhip ! yummeecookee Congrats to B, she will do great and I'm sure it's nice knowing you have a plan in place. FWIW, if our schools weren't going back here I would definitely be looking into private--home learning did not work for us, and with DH's deployment looming we need some structure and routine back. Also, being new in town, I don't have much of a network in place yet in terms of social outlets for the kids, etc. inthekitty I love KCC Spaniels. We've had several friends and neighbors over the years who have had them and all just raved about how sweet they are. I know we will not replace our lab with another big dog--I definitely want something smaller that is a bit more manageable for any future dogs. I also love miniature schnauzers, they have the cutest little old-man faces and expressions (plus no shedding!)

I’m off alone today. I went to HomeGoods to see if I could find a nice but cheap shoe rack and some picture frames. I got neither but I found two more cat throw blankets. They are so soft and just make me happy. Here’s a pic for klong11After that I went to Target and almost had a panic attack seeing so many employees wearing their masks wrong or having them pulled down entirely. I just don’t get why this is so difficult to understand. Wear a mask and it should stay on and cover your nose. So I think I need to stay in for a while. It’s too scary out there. I did find a nice shoe rack at Target though.

Hello! Busy couple days here! B is loving tennis camp and they've had a great turn-out; today they got to play in matches with some of the older kids, which he loved. C and I got both kids' school supplies at Target this morning, so that is checked off the list. Yesterday afternoon a crazy thunderstorm rolled through and the lightning was SUPER close. We felt like it had to have hit something in our direct vicinity. Welp, it appears our smaller air conditioning unit may have taken the hit I noticed last night our master bedroom was stuffy, and after some trial and error realized the AC wasn't on. Both our units have been replaced in the last year; thankfully the larger unit that cools the rest of the house is working fine, and there's a home warranty so they're going to send someone out and we'll go from there.

King Charles Cavaliers are super sweet dog but they are a genetic mess. They are very prone to mitral valve disease (mvd), encephalitis, and cancer. I’ve rarely seen one live past ten and have sadly seen many that passed well before. A lot of this is because they are so damn cute and are a big pet store seller, who get their dogs from puppy mills.
Sorry to be a downer. I have a friend right now that has a 7yo and he was diagnosed with MVD 6 months ago and it is progressing quickly. It’s so hard to see her go through this. Obviously all of these things can happen to any breed, they are just more likely.

We were planning at least a year pet free after Max passed. Maybe longer assuming we would get a dog in a few years. We lasted six months and then my inner crazy cat lady kicked in.

Oh forgot to say today is our 14yr anniversary! It’s crazy to think about. We have been together for 19years.
An update to the state of said marriage: we have had some really great conversations and are both working to meet each other’s needs. It’s still hard but I feel more hopeful.

I can’t remember what they said though.

But he's big and old. He still is spunky though. Likes to play and consistently runs away from home (so I guess the feeling is mutual between L and the dog). Our neighbors have a cute little puppy and she loooooves him. Her dream is to have a puppy that stays a small dog. I love puppies but am not really a small dog person.

wedding , that's bummer about the KCCS dogs. People are dicks. trtlcrzy twilight zone indeed. I couldn't get through Tiger King. I tried. It just didn't capture me. I was thrilled that my favorite TV family, The Roses got 14 Emmy noms. Wahoo Schitt's Creek!

Happy anniversary wedding! Evies Covid test was easy, it was a nasal swab but right inside both nostrils. Dropped some stuff off at my office and H wanted to stop at a dealership and look at a truck. We have been negotiating for 2 hours...I hate car shopping. We are now waiting to sign finance papers.

I've started watching Love on the Spectrum on Netflix. I'm really enjoying it. These parents are awesome and really rooting for all of them to find love.

Hi hi - another day here. J is in French class for the week and that is kind of fun. It's N's last week of distance since they are opening at the end of August but we are on the reserve list, so aren't going back til later. I'm a bit worried about her needing more interaction.
I ordered mh some ugg slippers and new adidas slides for his birthday this weekend.. kind of lame but hopefully useful for quarantine work life. Also can arrive by Friday, which is key. I'm about to call a bakery to see if they can do a gluten free cake for something a bit more festive than our usual cake mix birthday cake.
