One the way home from camp I saw that the splash pad was pretty empty so we stopped there for a bit. One of his camp friends was there and his mom and I exchanged numbers to set up a play date. When I got home I had to rush around because there was a YouTube live with Dr. Ibram Kendi on racism that I wanted to see. I am maybe 1/3 of the way through his book “How to be an Anti-Racist” and it’s really good. The YouTube was good but not great. Still worth rushing around.

Why does Texas have to be so hot? My kid just wants to learn how to ride her bike, but I start sweating just thinking about going outside so I can only go out in short increments. Also, can someone else come teach my kid to ride her bike? She can do it, she's just too up in her head and convinced she's going to fall. So she pedals three or four times and then jerks the handle bars and stops. Have you had her try riding on grass? My nephew learned that way. It slows the bike down a bit but provides a softer fall. Yes, we switched to that yesterday and it has def. improved. That's how I learned as well, but I was 10. I don't want her to have to wait that long. She keeps trying, so I'll just keep showering after her lessons. LOL

lahdeedah I am also impressed with your painting skills! I thought about attempting ours when we remodeled but decided I'd make them look like shit and spend more getting them fixed, so I just left them. Here I sit, waiting for golden oak to come back in style! It’s so time consuming, but money saving. By now, I feel like I could paint almost anything. I am not touching the crown molding though. I will be getting someone to do that because I’m sure I will mess that up.

How do you all keep your closets smelling fresh? It’s just my front hall closet, I spray the shoes with an odour eater spray at the end of the day but if I close it for the night it just gets stagnate smelling. It’s not to bad when I leave the closet open, but I hate that. It is driving me nuts. Google had lots of ideas but anything that works for sure?
I am very aware that this is a FWP, but day 129 of isolation it’s a weird time.

vino Do you put a box of baking soda in the closet? Maybe that can help? Other than that, I got nothing.

Demo day is done. They were done around noon. Installation is Wednesday. Since MH was home today, too, I decided to go ahead and paint the cabinets. He took them all off and helped to wipe them down with the gloss off and I painted. I was able to get most of it done. I just have about half of the cabinet doors to do. I didn’t want to have to because I am so done with painting, but it would easily save me $$$, so paint I will. The guy at Benjamin Moore told me what roller to use for that sprayed look and it looks good. I need to start to look for new knobs and pulls. I'm impressed with your painting skills! I'm sure it's all going to look awesome. We are the least handy people here.. I am a contender for that title for sure.

I cannot wait to see the final product, lahdeedah! mwhip, I think it’s really fair that you include Evie. I also think it’d be fine to wait as long as it’s not weeks or months away. I really hope this works.

In other news, MH’s conference announced that all fall sports will be pushed to Spring. No fall football for us. I saw it coming. I’m still curious to see how the big conferences go about it.

Sounds like it was a good appointment mwhip, I would most definitely include her on the decision, they’re old enough to understand the time frame and the negative result if getting it on Friday with no vacation. Good luck and keep us posted, I have everything crossed that she’ll feel better with this.

I told you guys about the ghost in my house right? There’s loud bangs upstairs when no one is up there. Or I think it’s C but he is fast asleep. This has been going on for the four years we have been here. Nothing else though until around January. I was getting ready for the day in our master bath and the toilet paper holder started going up and down and squeaking. It’s a swinging holder on the wall like this It went on long enough for me to look away, blink a number of times and look back to see it still moving. There’s no vent in the room, the fan was off, no one else present. So clearly the ghost. At 12:58am, just 10mins ago, I hear the squeaking of the holder rocking back and forth. I woke dh up to be a witness but he won’t remember. I’m trying not to freak out since the ghost has never harmed us, but I’m a little scared. Needed to tell someone

That’s freaky wedding! I would not like that either. mwhip for a matter of 5 days I’d probably just push it out to the next week to allow the family to go on vacay myself. lahdeedah looks great. Just curious, what roller did BM suggest? I got one that the YouTube video I watched said to use and I’m wondering if it’s the same. Speaking of I really need to just force myself to get that dang cabinet painted so we can get it hung. I’m tired of the top of my washer and dryer looking like a storage area.

vino I have some charcoal odor absorber bags that supposedly remove odors. You put then in the sun once a month to recharge them. I'm not sure if they work, but lots of good reviews.

Okay wedding, that is so darn weird. I'd be replacing that thing! Although I guess that could piss the ghost off. Thank you for all your input yesterday. You all made me feel much better about my decisions. We still haven't decided for sure about the injection, we discussed as a family. I sat down and read H the information that actually applied to Evie and she was listening. I then let H talk to her and didn't say anything, so I wouldn't sway her in any direction. We told her she didn't have to decide last night, but needed to decide today, so if we need to reschedule, we have time. We had a storm come through this morning, the pain in her knee woke her up and she came into bed with me around 5. She only laid with me for a bit before she went to the sofa and sat with the heating pad on it. I got up and got her the Naproxen. After H left for work, I told her we needed to make a decision today and she still says she wants to wait, even with the pain, because swimming will make it feel better. I'll probably give her til lunch time to decide for sure, then call the hospital and make the changes, if necessary. I don't want to wait too long and lose the appointment next week.

trtlcrzy He said a microfiber roller. The specific one was a skinny fine microfiber. I’m not at home and don’t know the exact brand. Will look at it later and let you know.

Ohh I love a ghost wedding. I've had a couple in the past that did weird shit like that and I just chatted with them, LOL. 'Listen here, I dont mind you being here and I know you think you're funny but you're creeping me out so just chill a bit ok'.

wedding wasn’t your house new construction when you bought it? I think of ghosts in old homes, not new, but I love a good ghost story so keep us posted. What there anything on your property before your house?

wedding that's creepy. I know I've mentioned it here before but we definitely coexist with a ghost in this house. But it is 110+ years old. Mostly it just messes with me. S was super attuned to it as a baby/toddler but seems to have lost the connection. Now that I think of it, I haven't had any interactions since we've been home. I wonder if it's going easy on me due to all the stress. Ghost, if you are reading this, thanks!

What there anything on your property before your house? It was. There was a very old home torn down though so it’s possibly from someone there. It’s odd because we have lived in very old places as adults and I never felt it. Here I feel like there’s something. As a child we had two houses that had ghosts. One was a very old Victorian home and the other was a ranch probably built in the 50s/60s.

I’ve been wondering about y’all and how that would work. How is he feeling about it? I’ve read a couple columnists in the last week or so who opined that the smaller conferences doing spring football could be a huge revenue source for them, bc they’ll get much more exposure and thus better TV deals, etc. Will be interesting to see if that pans out. I feel like there is so much money on the line for the Power 5 schools and all related stuff (TV network deals, etc), they’ll do everything they can to play at least a partial schedule this fall, even with no fans/reduced capacity, etc. I saw where Stanford has already cut a bunch of their sports team in anticipation of reduced revenue. I think we would see A LOT more of that if football doesn’t happen.
