For some reason, tapa wouldn't open on my phone this weekend, so I just got caught up, glad to see lfig and Sunny41 back! I'm working from home. I will likely get harsh words for this, but it's something I thought long and hard, discussed with H, and I'm still taking Evie to her Rheumatologist appointment at 9:30 this morning. I have waited 3 weeks for this appointment, her knee has been swollen for 6 weeks now. Every morning when she wakes up, it's so sore, she walks with a cane until the Naproxen kicks in and she gets it stretched out. I told her we are wearing our masks, using hand sanitizer endlessly and not touching anything unnecessarily. I need to know what's going on.

mwhip, as someone very cautious no harsh words here. That's a necessary appointment and I hope it gives you some answers!

Not much happening here. It's supposed to be 85 degrees so probably lots of outside time since it won't be as hot!

No harsh words at all, mwhip. That’s a necessary appointment to figure out what’s going on with Evie . Please update us when you can. We’re all thinking about her and hoping it’s an easy fix.

Morning. For the first time in 6.5 years as a parent, we had to leave a restaurant last night right after we got our food. L was being a maniac, shriek crying/screaming for no reason. N dropped her whole bowl of Mac n cheese on the floor. Both kids had to go to the bathroom as soon as the food came. It was so chaotic we packed up and left and finished at home. Yikes.
The kids want to have a picnic at the park today, so we’ll bike there for lunch.
We had a new sitter come for the second time yesterday. I love her! She’s so sweet and plays with the kids and did a craft with them. Even did dishes that i hadn’t gotten to yet. I texted her super last minute and she was at our house in 15 minutes. (Dh made it to the final rounds of the gold tournament which we didn’t except so i wanted to get there to watch the end) she’s coming over again tomorrow and the kids are already excited.

Morning! New dishwasher being installed today. My parents have been waiting on this for awhile...old one died, special model had to be ordered to fit crazy/old kitchen, plumber booked for weeks, etc. Today is our last day here. We all miss H and I know he’s ready to have us home but darn, it’s so nice up here. I hate leaving every summer

mwhip I don’t blame you for going to the appointment at all. I know it may be too late, but if I had to go, I would probably find an N95 to wear while there. As long as you mask up any way, go get some answers. Poor girl. Waking up like that everyday has to be awful. flamingo Enjoy your last day. Sorry it’s always hard leaving. Hearing you talk about Maine each summer has definitely put it on my radar for a future summer vacation. I think we would all love it.

slenle good news about the sitter! And sorry about dinner, 6 years is a good run . That’s one of the things I loved about being in the states last year, going out to dinner as a family. So much more restaurants are used to/orientated more towards families than here!

Hi!
The contractor got to the house 30 min early. He did text before he showed up, but I told him it was fine. The boys just had to finish breakfast. I almost forgot to get a before picture and it’s not the best, but the contractor was already standing there, so it will do.
I dropped M2 off at daycare and I’m now sitting in the parking lot after grabbing a coffee from the local coffee shop. It’s too early to do anything or go anywhere, so figured I would catch up here with my coffee.

I'm working from home today because H is still snotty. I've got a migraine so it should be super fun. Lol. I've been gettin them more often so I'm assuming its from lack of sleep. If only H would stop waking me up!

Morning. We took the kids to the zoo, where it was literally a zoo... people are just nuts. Dh and I didn’t feel at ease at all, we scouted our the quieter routes and tried not to let the kids notice that we where a bit apprehensive. I may or may not have made some slightly too loud comments about social distancing towards the kids 😬. We’re back at the cottage now and are just hanging around for a bit.

flamingo Enjoy your last day. Sorry it’s always hard leaving. Hearing you talk about Maine each summer has definitely put it on my radar for a future summer vacation. I think we would all love it. Yes! We've had so many friends come up to visit over the years who ended up coming back repeatedly, and even a couple have bought their own places! It is just a beautiful, relaxing place and in a lot of ways is kind of simple and old-fashioned. I feel like we can really 'get away from it all' up here. eta: and happy kitchen reno day! Exciting stuff, can't wait to see pics.

Morning. Standard day here. I was supposed to have a dentist appt but I had them move it out to sept because I don’t want to take V or find a babysitter for the big girls right now. I need to go through the school supplies we got back from last year to see what I can cross off the list. mwhip I hope you get some answers. Did you all get tested for covid yet?

Had to meet a partner at the offsite storage this morning. He understands my urgency on the matter and is actually listening to my ideas and concerns. Hoping everyone else will listen to him, since they aren't listening to me.
Got into it with mh yesterday because he made a comment about Cadence's eating. She was having leftover pizza for lunch and went to put ranch on her plate. He made a "only a little bit" comment and I told him to mind his own business. He then said something about her health and I went off. He does this all the time and I don't want her having issues about food. Not to mention he's the one that got her started on the whole ranch kick to begin with. She then asked me to put it on the plate for her, which I refused to do. I would like her to be more independent and he's halting that as well with his comments. I can't with the constant nitpicking of her, just let her be and let her make her own mistakes. If she spills her drink, then she can clean it up. It will teach her to hold the cup with both hands. Small stuff like that. Anyways, he ended up leaving and going to his Dad's for a few hours, so it was a nice little quiet afternoon after that. HAHA

nam2013 do your kids not know about COVID-19? Or are you guys just trying not to have them worry about it by not talking about social distancing? I ask just because with all of us in different places in the country and world, it is interesting to see how others handle talking to your kids about it. It’s hard to try to get the point across but not cause hysteria. We are fortunate that C isn’t a huge worrier. He has had some anxiety around it but in more of an acute way than constant and he’s easily calmed. I imagine that it would cause a lot of anxiety and fear in some kids and that has to be so hard to find a balance.

I’m curious about car insurance rates cuts. I know a few of the major companies said they would cut a break for drivers, and I don’t know what I was expecting, but I only got a $40 cut on my 6 month premium. I mean, I’m grateful for that, but I think I was expecting a little more off.
Did anyone see more or less on their premium?
