Are you ladies actually doing your jobs or tending to your kids? Where is everyone?

We're going ziplining today. Everyone's looking forward to it. Then probably relaxing on the beach.
I bought my first new laptop in a decade yesterday. The smell of new electronics as I opened the box was much more exciting to me than an beauty products would be. 🤓

Are you neighborhoods doing wine fairies? In the last week I’ve been invited to two different groups. I’m getting very excited to put a basket together.

Nothing major, but on the verge of tears at the end, apparently I overestimated myself hugely and the low blood pressure is making me feel so weak and dizzy it’s annoying. We saw some deer and treated the kids to an icecream that was way to big for them, but that’s what vacation is for imo. My h send me to lie down for a bit. Grilling tonight .

Morning! I got up at 4:30 and got my run in. It's raining and humid today, so I knew I needed to get it done first thing. It's so nice to get it out of the way first thing in the day. guster I'm part of a local 'sprinkle' group. I think it originally started as a booze sharing group, but then people complain that they don't drink, so it's totally random. I've been 'sprinkled' twice, but it's by my best friends. I really need to make some baskets and at least sprinkle them back. It's just putting the effort into it! H went to Nebraska for the day/night for work. E went to my dads for today and tomorrow, so I have the evening to myself. I'm getting my hair cut and colored and will probably pick up something for dinner that no one in my house enjoys then enjoy the quiet!

I'm at work. Dropped Cadence off at gymnastics, zipped through the starbucks drive thru and now I'm here. I need to leave a little early today so I can go renew my license. They finally opened it up to appointments. I was able to get one for today, but after that the only thing available was in Sept.
I may cancel one of Cadence's camp weeks to send her back to my Mom's. With the first 3 weeks being virtual I know she's going to struggle, so I would like her to have a good time before all of that starts up. My only concern is that I'm going to ship her to my mom and then school will have some impromptu meet the teacher or some shit. I'll have to look at my calendar to see when the best time will be.

I dropped S off at his friend's house today and I'm meeting a friend for lunch. kim22 we were planning on meeting at the Zinburger by you, but it doesn't appear to have outdoor dining. Anywhere else in that area you recommend? We would like somewhere right off of PKWY.

::patiently waiting for my school district’s announcement today:: It will probably be the whole 3 weeks virtual thing. Someone was saying they could only decide 3 weeks at a time? But, people are also saying kids can't get it or spread it, and still that it is just like the flu. People are idiots, so take everything with a grain of salt.

tgrimes, It’s women in my town and our neighboring town. You make a basket of snacks and mixed drinks or wine and “dust” someone’s house. You can dust anyone. There’s a google doc to keep track of where everyone lives and who has already been dusted. I think it’s cute. I’m leaning toward making a tequila, chips and salsa basket and a wine bread and cheese one.

There are only 3 of us left in our office. Augh. Any word on your job yet?

Morning!
We’re being bums here, it turned a bit chilly overnight. B is outside throwing the ball for the neighbor’s dogs. This kid lives his best life up here.
ETA: I am also waiting—impatiently—for the quote for our front doors. This place moves at a glacial pace. Supposedly I’ll have it today, but I’m not holding my breath.

Our online enrollment is open, you basically just make sure all your information is accurate and that yes, your kid will be enrolled in our district for the 2020-2021 school year. You don't have to make a final decision until the 30th of July between online or in person, our plans will be announced on the 20th.
People are already posting on FB that they shouldn't have to enroll until plans are finalized so they don't have to make a blind decision about 'sacrificing their child's safety.' Someone even said that the school is forcing those that are cautious to make the decision to homeschool.
Yes, the school district is conspiring against us parents. Just look into it before jumping to conclusions people. It's so dumb.

We have that book too nam2013. This was our wedding song too. I give the Going to Bed book by Sandra Boynton to everyone for a baby gift since we read that nightly before bed till the kids were 3. My kids and I loved that book. And then either Little Blue Truck or Mr. Brown can Moo can you depending on which I think the family will like more.

There are only 3 of us left in our office. Augh. Any word on your job yet? Still part time right now. What it sounds like is we'll sell the building we are currently in and get a smaller more manageable space. The firm will be smaller, which means not everyone will have a job. I can technically do all of my jobs + reception, so I'm hoping that will keep me as a contender. If I even want to remain one. I'm keeping my eye out for jobs. There was an admin position at the historical society that I'll apply to. Mostly because it sounded cool and wouldn't be a huge pay cut.

I’ve seen some real winners of comments down home, and it’s on both sides of the issue. 🙄 Personally, Im tired of the shaming directed at people who are electing to send their kids back to school. I’m not sitting in judgement on you (general) for keeping your kid at home, I’d appreciate the same courtesy.

I’m not sitting in judgement on you (general) for keeping your kid at home, I’d appreciate the same courtesy. Exactly. H keeps bringing it up to me, like we have a choice. I want to ask him if he's going to quit his job to homeschool her, because it isn't really a viable option for us. Even when I WFH, I can't give her the attention required to do any kind of online learning. And now that I'm back in the office part time, everything would be done in the evening, which we also don't have time for. So in person is the only real option for us. I like to think my district is going to do everything possible to keep the kids, teachers, administrators safe. So if in person is an option, I'm going to choose it. But for families who can make online work for them, that's great! We all have to do what is best for our individual families, even if it isn't what makes us the most comfortable. And not be a dick about it online.
