For those of you who have mentioned it, if you choose online learning do you not have the option to enroll back in the traditional classroom? That’s how I’m reading our districts proposed plan. Although we are still in early draft form.
Has anyone seen the Maryland open letter from the teachers Association and the teachers unions that was addressed to the governor? They are proposing that the first semester of school be entirely virtual.

*snip H went to Nebraska for the day/night for work. E went to my dads for today and tomorrow, so I have the evening to myself. I'm getting my hair cut and colored and will probably pick up something for dinner that no one in my house enjoys then enjoy the quiet! Enjoy your night, I am so jealous. I would do so many things for a night alone right now. Just.one.night. +1 I just want some time alone. I’m thinking of how I can use the house work as an excuse to send Mh and the boys to his parents. |

They just don't want parents going back and forth like 1 week online, 1 week in school, that sort of thing. I'm sure they would accept it in special cases, but for the most part you have to wait each period to change. |

Our district is requiring that if you opt for online learning, you have to do it the first semester, then you can opt to come back for the 2nd semester. But not sooner. |

My neighbor and I talked last night and she said she is on a moms FB group for our city and a few teachers said they were quitting and willing to take on a few students for the year. I told her to send me an invite so I can figure out what this is about.
I still think our plan is going to change if the numbers stay the same. It’s the reason why I am working what I can now because I may have to cut back when school starts.

Our county has the same policy as klong11’s, you can make changes at the quarter but not randomly throughout the year. I think that is very fair for all concerned, particularly teachers/schools. |

Our governor finally ceased moving forward through any more phases but has not rolled it back yet (we are having higher numbers now in our county than ever before).
They won't do full F2F schooling, but I hope they'll still do partial in person schooling. It would be really hard to get the kids out of summer mode without that structure. If it eventually went to full DL I think it'd be much easier after a few weeks in the classroom, meeting their teachers, getting to know their classmates.

Enjoy your night, I am so jealous. I would do so many things for a night alone right now. Just.one.night. Tell me what you do. I’d lean toward sushi, a long shower, and TV while starfishing and eating ice cream. I would tidy up the house (dont judge it's my thing, i cant feel relaxed until the house is clean but it doesnt take long an hour max), go for a long walk or bike ride in the river valley, get sushi on my way home, eat on the deck with a nice cold beer that would stay cold cause there would be no interruptions, take a long hot shower and do a face mask and then maybe do a driveway drinks with friends that arent my neighbours. and just enjoy all the silence, waking up and now having to GET GOING right away would be the biggest treat. If I had 2 days I would travel to Banff for one night to enjoy the Rockies. I'd imagine I'd love the 4 hour drive playing my own songs and going towards the mountains. |

One of the school districts here requested to wait to open schools until hospitals are down to 5 average new admits a day. We were at 69 yesterday.....  |

So you know I said that a girl at my second job has a boyfriend that tested positive so she had to get a test. Well when I can in yesterday, I asked if her test came back and they said she was still waiting on it but they are certain she has it because leading up to the day he started showing symptoms, they shared a toothbrush. 🤢🤢🤢
I come in today and another girl is not here, but I haven’t had a moment to ask why. When I asked about her, the other tech said no and didn’t offer up details, and I didn’t ask why because she was busy with something at the time and took it as maybe she didn’t want to say yet. If she thinks she has it to, I need to high tail myself out of this place. I have been wiping everything down all morning.

I know I should take way more away from that lahdeedah but I'm so disgusted they would share a toothbrush. I wouldn't share a toothbrush with my spouse. So weird. But I do hope you are safe there and don't get exposed to it. |

Just made the executive decision to send Cadence back to Camp Grandma for the first week of August(I checked with Grandma first, obviously). Cadence is going to be so excited, especially since she'll get to take the inflatable pool this time too.

Hi everyone. Same old, same old for me. I got invited into one of those wine fairy groups here. I declined it. It was while the SIP was still going on and I was mega stressed w life and not wanting to add another thing on my plate. Making cutesy baskets isn’t my thing but I love it for all those involved.  My school district STILL has not made a final decision and I’ve been told they dont have to until mid August so I will just anxiously wait until then. And lahdeedah, I am hoping you have not had exposures! |

Oh, I’m also a little irritated - my aunt is having a graduation party for my cousin this weekend. I have seen several of my extended family members thru the pandemic, so I planned on going. Then I was talking w my grandmother and she was saying how my cousin’s friends were also invited to the partY - my aunt is expecting 50 ppl!
What? Excuse me? I am so shocked she would host a party like this. I’m also kind of reeling that if I hadn’t talked w my grandmother, I would’ve just rolled up to a gigantic party.

My teacher friends are all posting stuff about what's the acceptable number of teachers and students dying and that it's not teachers jobs to get the economy fixed without proper funding and support. If there was a massive effort underway to fund schools and proper PPE, I'd feel better about things. When I taught in Baltimore City, we did not have AC, working computers, or soap, so not feeling great that they could pull off this task to keep everyone properly protected. |

Hi hi - busy week. We had a tree taken down yesterday and work is insane trying to keep up with opening up. J started summer school and has 3 zooms in a row and is complaining about it. The writing one is a different k teacher and I think it's great even if he doesn't.
Mh's 40th is in a few weeks, so I need to get planning quickly.. pretty sure he will have birthday blues regardless, so need to make an effort besides planning a trip for when we can travel again...

A lot of stuff is possible over here again (with restrictions in place of course) but the one place they’re seeing small clusters of if outbreaks are all surrounding the slightly bigger family/friend get togethers 🤦🏼♀️. |

Hey. Low key morning here. Nothing else to report. I need to do some cleaning and shower at some point today.
They did that fairy thing here back in april/May, but they called it “quarantWINED”. I was invited on fb but chose to not be involved. I didn’t want to give my address out to a bunch of random people. Plus I was pregnant and getting wine didn’t sound very fun.
