We got an email that hybrid will probably change to 4 days a week starting in March. Even though it's only 9 to 1, I really hope it happens. Dd is just a happier kid the 2 days she has in person school.
I also internally freak out about it but at least mh is vaccinated.

Ours is *supposed* to go to 4 days a week starting like mid March I think? I cannot wait. DS's attitude is night and day when he's in person and not in front of a screen on all his breaks because H and I both work FT. Also....winter. But I'm really hoping it holds up. Our school transmission has been zero I believe aside from one "outbreak" (ie two people) in one of the special needs schools in the fall.

I am having a discussion with a woman on fb who wants to sue the state because according to her they are "penalizing" people for getting their vaccines at a pharmacy instead of a state run event. You can't register for your second vaccine through the state if you did not get your first through them.

I don’t understand why anyone would want to go through the state when everyone I know have had it set up for them on the spot.

I have no personal experience, but that is what others are saying. She just keeps arguing with everyone about how the state is distributing the vaccines so why can't you go to a state run event instead of back to the pharmacy. I'm tired and told her to have a good night.

You have more self-restraint than me.

Yeah you have to go to the same site so they know that they have the right amount allocated.

Cher the locations can be different here, but it just has to be state run. Like they are offering a week long location that wasn't offered before. Last time it was at the dmv so there were issues with traffic, only available on the weekends, etc. But Others have picked up my fight so I feel OK being done with it. Haha

I’ve seen people here say they want to switch locations here for the second dose for whatever reason and they’re told no, because that’s how they know how to allocate doses. Regional. Either way, I’m glad you saved yourself.

I just passed the background check to volunteer with vaccine distribution. So I’m going to start working at a site this week. And selfishly hope I’m lucky enough to be there on a day when they have some leftover. 😂😬

They are being cancelled by pharmacies and now those people are scrambling to get their second dose. It is a cluster. It is a thing, though

It is a thing, though Oh that’s wild, and the pharmacy isn’t rescheduling? My FIL was cancelled but he was cancelled and given a new date at the same exact time so it was very ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The criteria for getting it at the pharmacy changed, so all these people that went there that now don’t meet that criteria are being cancelled and not rescheduled. They are told it can no longer be done at the pharmacy

If they’re scheduling second doses for people getting leftover shots, that seems really shitty.

The Fair is six months away. There is no reason to cancel it right now. It's a huge thing for that area.

I have friends whose families have businesses that are at the Fair every year. It's a huge amount of income. To cancel it this early after not being able to make a lot over the last year would be very difficult for people

I don’t think cnf was saying it should be cancelled. I think it’s more of it’s something far away why is this a talking point and not schools (and other things) (But don’t let me put words in your mouth lol)

I love the fair. I grew up ten minutes from the fair grounds and I never miss a year. I know it's not equivalent to schools and that it's not until August, but I just can't get on board with the optics of opening sports and the fair and letting bars be open later, but then doing nothing to try and get schools reopened. I guess I don't understand why education isn't a priority when the data and science points to schools being safe.
And not even just for my kid, but teaching the way we have to in hybrid is awful. I want my kids back in my room. It's safe and it sucks that they aren't a priority.

I don't have any issues with the fair this year, but I feel like in the immediate we should be focusing on the end of the school year and making the most of these last few months for our kids who have now lost a full year of true, quality education and other services.

These are two different things. The sports and the stuff in the fall is a whole different situation than the Fair in August. Biden has said that they expect vaccines to be available to every adult by July. At some point things need to go forward people need to make money
