What’s happening ladies?

Morning!
The kids played outside from 7:45 til about 9, so nice to have coffee in peace!
C is now bugging me to ‘look at paint colors for (her) room’. I’ve already chosen one but she likes to look at all the samples. I’m hoping to paint this weekend.
No big plans for us today, may try to get by Ben Moore and get C a haircut.

Morning! I started work a little earlier than normal, hoping I can log off early. We can legally start shooting fireworks today, so Evie is super excited.
I need to get to the grocery store and mow between today and tomorrow.

Good morning. We went crabbing early this morning. T is obsessed with fishing shows on tv and was begging to go. We caught a lot but all small ones. Now my parents are on the way down to go to the beach for the day.

Morning! Charlie is very into playing restaurant (I think he misses it) so I’m eating a plastic egg and sausage sandwich. I expect more of the same throughout the day.

Morning.
Last day of work for the week. I hope this weekend is relaxing. I don’t plan on doing much at the ILs. Should be a weekend of lazing around, eating, and playing with the boys. I am ready.

I finished mowing this morning. My moms mower is in the shop (with hers I can mow in 3 hours) and I broke my brothers last week. I used an old one yesterday and today and it took me 6 hours! We're trading it in towards our own, hopefully this weekend. I'm tired of using other people's and A has been trying to decide which to get for months and I told him to just make a decision. He researches everything to death!

Morning. Ds had his send off to first grade this morning and I was an emotional mess. It was outside in a little clearing, kids on tree trunks, the kids wearing crowns, his teacher told a beautiful story, made a song with a personal verse on every child and all the all the parents (just the oldest kids parents and with distance) sang a specially made song. This took over and hour and I cried the majority off it 😂.
Ds’ best friend is transferring to an other school and his teacher framed a picture of the two of them and gave one to each of them, she is such a sweetheart.

Morning! Just finished working out and now i need to get moving and pack up for the weekend. We are heading to my sisters cabin (only 15 minutes away) and we will be house sitting/ babysitting their 4 kids until they get back Saturday morning, then we’ll spend the 4th with all of them. The kids play together nicely and the lake is super shallow and swimmable, so our kids love it and we can hopefully relax.

H was up 6 times last night. It's been like this for several days now and I'm 95% sure he's sleep walking.
Good news is that google says kids usually outgrow it by their teen years so...

Oh man tgrimes that's rough. My friend's son is 12 and just started sleep walking in the past year or so. He'll just randomly appear.

Morning. Yesterday was a little fun, the rain was kinda annoying but there were enough breaks that the kids got to play. I think that we've been spending too much time with the neighbour kids cause they were annoying me yesterday so i am hoping that with the rain today we dont see them and we're each going camping separately so it should be a nice break from them.
Back at work today and the kids are occupied building forts downstairs with their crazy fort kits.

B is on day 2 and I already got a call saying he's having a fabulous day.
S has his BFF over for the day and it's great b/c I only see them for snack/lunch.
I had a bunch of work to do this morning and now I'm relaxing and getting to some laundry

I'm sorry tgrimes . My grandmother was an occasional sleepwalker, as is a friend of mine. Does H leave his room? Could you put up a baby gate at his door to keep him safely enclosed?

At work. My boss hasn't shown up the last 3 days. Not sure if he's on leave, he didn't say anything about it or put it on his calendar. On Tuesday he worked from home. I found out in the meeting with our superior that my boss and one other person in our department are the only people with telework approved in their position description. Over the years he's often been gone from work for never-ending random shit with his house. I've often wondered if he's taking leave because he'd say things like "I'll have my laptop, you can email me." So now I know he's been working from home whenever it's convenient for him and doing it just a week after everyone was disgruntled about being pulled back into the office for no reason. It also makes it clear why my requests to telework have gone no where over the years, he can whenever he wants so he's not that motivated to make it happen for us. I actually have nothing to do today at work. I'm caught up for the first time in 2 years. I'm putting together information to go higher up to get telework approved. Once it's ready I'm sending it to my boss with his superior CC'ed. I normally hate it when people do that shit but I don't trust my boss to move it forward in a timely manner and he's already said he has no authority to grant telework so I'm jumping the chain. I would really like to be WFH permanently by the time school starts again if it all possible.

Yes, he leaves his room. Usually, he heads straight for our room. Last night he wondered into the front play area and then went into M's room. Scared the shit out of me. I thought someone had broke into the house. I'll have to see if a baby gate would work. I like that idea better than locking him in his room. I wonder if he'd try to climb over it. Hmmmm.

Sent out the email that I was done condensing the offsite materials and was ready to begin the removal period. Then the managing partner gave me his box lists that he finally finished going over. I literally asked this man 100 times if he was sure he only wanted the files he had previously specified and all those times he said yes. I'm so annoyed. He's lucky it isn't a ton of files that he's wanting to keep cause I would have said fuck it and walked out.

tgrimes oh noooo... I second the baby gate. We have one on top of the stairs, they can open it if they’re awake, but not if they’re drowsy/sleepwalking. It’s given me a lot of piece of mind. My parents have one in the kids doorframe for the same reason.

You can put up a normal one a little higher if your not worried about them climbing trough underneath it.

tgrimes can you put some things on the baby gate to cling around if he starts climbing it? Or if his door is usually shut can you set up a door alarm to alert you guys that he is up?

tgrimes sleepwalking is the worst. Evie only does it now when she's overtired. I mean, let's not forget last fourth of July when I found her standing in our dark garage scream crying. Everything I have read is that they mostly grow out of it. We have alarms on our exterior doors, so that if she unlocked one and we didn't hear her, that thing would wake us up. We have a baby gate at the top of the stairs, but haven't put it up. It's one of the taller ones, if I was closer, I'd bring it over to you since it's in storage. I hope he grows out of this phase fast.

How obnoxious inthekitty . I hope you get WFH 'restored'. The last boss I had before I SAH pulled similar stuff. You'd go days without seeing him (and I don't think he was technically allowed to WFH...sales manager needed to be in the office or in the field with the reps). But 'do as I say, not as I do'. This was also the guy who bilked the company for thousands of dollars in personal expenses (meals, etc...clearly after-hours and not client-related.) I found his expense report left on the copy machine...he never let the admin handle it and I figured out why. He just sucked. (Apparently I'm still kind of bitter about it, lol.)

All this sleepwalking/blocking the door has me thinking about a silly problem we are having.
B keeps sneaking into S room to "borrow" his toys. S doesn't use his closet so we converted it to a lego closet and he has 74 billion lego sets in there that he built and plays with. The other day B was too quiet upstairs and I found him on the floor in front of the closet having torn apart like 3 lego sets. Needless to say, S was not amused.
I tell the boys that their rooms are their own spaces and they don't have to let their brothers in. But obviously B is not listening. I want S to feel "safe" that his room will be how he left it and his toys will be ok when he's not there. Any ideas, short of locking his door from the outside when he's not in it?

I have no suggestions...isn't that what siblings do? Annoying shit they aren't supposed to? I remember that being my brothers MO.
