The tiara Meghan wore suited her perfectly. I know people hated her loose hair and sleeves but I honestly loved the whole look

I thought the reports were always that Harry was with Meghan when the tiaras were being discussed and he was the one who pitched the fit and screamed "what Meghan wants."
I understood that even though Meghan expressed a preference for emeralds, an emerald tiara was promised to Eugenie whose wedding was already in the works and had to be moved to later in the year. I thought the story of the provenance of the emerald tiara in question, which was never identified, was the cover story to explain why Meghan couldn't have emeralds without ruining the surprise of Eugenie's wedding tiara.
I also understood that the Queen had her own ideas of what was appropriate for Meghan to wear at her wedding to Harry, and those were the only options that were on display at the meeting with Meghan & Harry.

2 meters! 6 feet! That’s all I can see in this picture. Cover your damn face. I think it said earlier it was recorded/filmed before quarantine? Yes, from before everything went into lockdown. In the before time in the long ago. 😂

I honestly don’t know how the tiara thing works. Does the Queen just give you one? Can you ask for one? Do you get three to choose from? Did Harry roll in and say “I want Meghan to have this specific tiara?” I want to know everything.

Did Harry roll in and say “I want Meghan to have this specific tiara?” I want to know everything. Also, how do they know what tiaras there are to choose from? Take a stroll around the tiara vault, make a shortlist of 5. And then the Queen gives her 5 options and, since she is the Queen, you pick one from her list. Would be interesting to know the process. I know some tiaras are on permanent loan to come of the royals.

I think Angela Kelly and the queen select a short list, and then the bride chooses from those in person.
Like, I don't think anyone but a born royal was going to be given the option of the fringe tiara. The lover's knot was too "go big or go home" for a wedding, but probably earmarked for Kate to borrow after she was married.
This reminds me that I want to read Angela Kelly's book.

I still don't get the Travalyst. Here is a wordy description This first-of-its-kind initiative is dedicated to exploring and promoting solutions that will make travel and tourism more sustainable through collaborative partnerships that bring together the collective expertise and perspectives of local communities, policymakers, governments, non-governmental organisations, other leading businesses and social entrepreneurs; leveraging technology and strategic initiatives to help scale the global supply of sustainable travel options to meet the growing market demand from consumers. Also, for a non-profit, they sure have a lot of cofounders that are for profit travel companies. Booking.com, Skyscanner, Trip.com Group, Tripadvisor and Visa
One more thing, isn't build back better Biden's campaign slogan???

I’m not sure why binoculars would be a terrible gift. Isn’t she outdoorsy? It’s not like he gave her a vacuum or something. For someone in their early 20s I imagine this is probably equivalent to vacuum, especially coming from a Prince. If I'm dating the future king of England, you best be showing up with jewelry for every gifting occasion.

I saw a story on people yesterday about how the palace aides called Meghan and told her not to wear the H&M necklace she was wearing before they became public because she was asking for the paps to take pictures when she wore them. Also not to look at the camera because then people see her as a gold digger, but not to not look at the cameras sometimes because then they see her as cold and I am just shocked she still agreed to marry him, WOULD NOT WANT

I've seen videos of Kate on the street when she was dating William holding her hand up to shield her face and asking the mob of paps to please leave her alone so she could get to her car, so I thought the palace was trying to keep Meghan from the same situation. Like, the videos made me feel mildly claustrophobic - they had her surrounded.

I just want to know what tiara it was and see a photo, lol.
Do you think it’s something that hasn’t been worn in a while? Meghan must have seen it at some point to even know about it. The excerpt says they couldn’t use her first choice because they didn’t know where it came from (meaning, possibly it shouldn’t exist in the Queen’s vault? That’s an interesting idea to me).
I doubt they wouldn’t let Meghan wear *any* emerald tiara just because Eugenie’s had an emerald in it unless it was that same exact one. And if I was, wouldn’t Angela Kelley have just explained that?

Ick. Like Meghan should be ashamed and not have all the trappings of a big fancy wedding. The Queen is not innocent in what went down with them.

When the story first came out, it was definitely presented as Meghan being demanding and pushy, with strong racist undertones. It strongly implied that she didn’t “know her place” in the royal pecking order and the Queen had to school her. It was pretty gross. It always surprised me that BP didn’t fight back against that story at the time and the one about her making Kate cry at the dress fitting. I feel like a lot of Meghan’s problems with the press could have been nipped in the bud early on had BP and KP both made it clear that they would not tolerate racist fabrications about her.

Again it could be the reporting but it very much read that she couldn't do anything right

I vaguely remember the unknown provenance thing. I still wonder if it was this one: It seems where the emeralds came from is a bit of a mystery: "The emeralds had originally been inherited by Mary's brother, who left them to his mistress; however, Mary had managed to reacquire them -- though the details of that particular transaction are a bit hazy." www.thecourtjeweller.com/2015/01/tiara-timeline-vladimir-tiara.html
