Holy Crap. I dropped B off for his first day of DC since March 11. When I tell you guys he's been attached to me... that's the understatement of the year. Anyway, he WALKED RIGHT IN! And this was a new place, new teachers, etc. He did the temp check then walked over to his new teacher and showed her how his batman mask matches his shirt and barely stopped to hug me.
I am floored. And weirded out to be home without him for the first time in 4 months. S is playing by himself in his room and I am enjoying a cup of coffee with my music playing in the background.

Yay for the great drop off jewels! I hope he has a great day! SSDD here, just working. We got some much needed rain here this morning, but I still think I need to water my lawn in preparation for fireworks starting tomorrow through Sunday. |

Morning! I’m off for Canada Day 🇨🇦! It’s a little rainy here but hopefully it stops this afternoon so we can get outside, if not we’ll probably just go indoors with the neighbours and order food later.
I promised the kids a trip to TRU so we’ll head there as soon as it opens so they can pick out a toy with their end of school money they got. But first, coffee.

Morning. I’m at M2’s 3 year well visit. Going to work after I drop him off at daycare. Not much else today. I have a lot to do at home before we leave for the ILs. Hope everyone has a happy hump day!

Morning! N has her bestie from school (actually they were in daycare together since babies too) coming over this afternoon. They haven’t seen each other since March so she is so excited! She requested that H not be here because “they’ve been together too much” so he is going to go to my parents house for the afternoon.
L finally seems back to normal, thank goodness. He’s back to his happy self and slept until almost 8. I swear he seems inches longer, so maybe it was a growth spurt? He’s currently distorting the magnatiles castle H built.. just waiting to see how long it takes H to notice

She hasn't been taking covid seriously since day 1. Constantly comparing it to the flu, etc. Then when covid numbers surpassed the flu numbers, she changes the story to fit her narrative. She knows how cautious we've been and continually finds ways to passive aggressively slip her comments into our conversations. I finally got fed up last night and called her out on it. She always backs her comments with "well if you actually look at the research it says..." Fine, show me your research then because that's not what doctors and scientists are saying. (She thinks she's smarter than all of them since she diagnosed her son with Crohn's before the doctor did.) |

tgrimes - that's the worst, I'm sorry. What was the issue? I posted a second ago. But last night began with her sending this: What's going to be really sad is as soon as this whole thing is over, people's immune system's are going to be shot because they haven't been exposed to germs in so long. I told her that's not how immune systems work. Her response was that it just makes sense because people are over sanitizing and not being exposed to anything because of masks and gloves. Oh well then. If it just makes sense, it must be true! |

I'm trying to get myself in a good mood for the day despite way too little sleep. So I'm jamming to the 90s R&B station. It's heaven. Boyz II Men, Jodeci, Ginuwine, Monica, Babyface, Destiny's Child, etc.
Years ago when I was in high school and my sister wasn't crazy yet and we were much closer, our radio station used to host $10 concerts that were awesome. They included about 8-12 hip-hop acts. We saw Ja Rule, Ginuwine, Keith Sweat, MC Hammer (lolz) and a bunch of other groups. Our cheap tickets were up in the third tier with all the pot smokers. When Ginuwine performed he called for all the ladies to come down to the stage. My sister and I bee-lined down to the floor and got close to the stage. Security was so pissed he did that, but the ladies were flocking so they couldn't do anything about it. He called for the ladies to throw their panties on stage (ew!) and then was using one he got to dab the sweat off his face (double ew).

Morning! Er, afternoon!
Kids are eating some post-lunch ice cream so I have a moment of peace. Although C is now calling me to bring her earmuffs, so...
Shutter guy #2 was just here. Not as attractive as the guy yesterday but he did have a nice southern accent, lol. I am torn on this. The guy last night recommended wood, the guy today recommended composite. Both have compelling reasons. HOW TO CHOOSE?! Yes, the ultimate of FWP's, my shutters are stressing me out.

If yes, I guess y'all still have that up your way? I keep hearing rumors they're 'coming back' but so far have seen nothing concrete. jewels glad drop-off went smoothly! I hope he has a great day and you are feeling more comfortable with everything. |

Not that I shopped there every week, but I miss having it as an option.I will say, the Target near me here has stepped up their game and the toy section got a makeover. It's much larger and more extensive. But still...I liked TRU. I haven't been to it since it opened because it's in the galleria. Too much traffic, parking sucks, etc. I don't think they've reopened since they shut down for covid though. |
