slenle I’m team it’s up to the bride and groom whether or not they invite kids but to half invite them to a wedding that involves traveling is super strange.

Sorry to inform you all but building a house yourself does not fix all the problems. There are things I wish we would have done differently when building our house and I want to change them. But it’s livable and I’m not going to sink money into that kind of stuff right now. Agreed. And Unless you have a pretty hefty budget with wiggle Room, you may not be able do all of your wants at the time you build.

I’m all for leaving the kids behind for friends weddings. But it seems weird for family, and I’m sure Dh’s parents would be offended if we left the kids with my parents. And this side of the family is very casual.. so it’s not going to be a formal wedding at all, so I was surprised to see no kids. Is venue size a concern? Bil and his fiancé aren't having kids except the wedding party. Which is 8 total. But their reasoning is venue size. Both families are catholic and have alot of kids. They did the math and just can't afford a venue to hold everyone plus kids. They're at 300 with just adults. My parents are invited though so I intend to send the kids home with them and party it up lol

I just fought with the ice maker and WON! I left an otter pop in the ice section and it wrapped around the coil, and I got it out in almost one piece! Can you come fight mine tomorrow? DH has been fighting it for a week. I had to drink a margarita without ice the other day. Right now it’s full of ice we bought at the store. So frustrating! I had to get up on on a chair and take picture with my phone to see what the blockage was.

After it quit working, I saw why I had to fight the ice maker in the first place. 😒

slenle way late but I agree, the invite to only bring kids for part of the evening is weird...it should be all or nothing, IMO.

Personally I’d take it as an opportunity to go without the kids at all. I never realized how not fun weddings are when you bring kids, until I didn’t bring mine to one. Or, if you really wanted to go maybe your mom could go with and hang out at the hotel with the kids until the reception. +1 i have only taken j and n to weddings as babies in arms. Would not want to have to watch actual kids. We had no kids at our wedding but also didn't have nieces or nephews at the time. It does make the distant wedding hard though. Maybe one person can hang back and bring them to the reception? The only wedding I’ve brought the kids too is a cousins wedding that was out in Chicago (where I had my one and only N13 meetup!). It was fine but my parents were there too to help with them. We have no one to leave the kids with overnight so if we were invited to a kid free wedding out of town we would just decline. My next out of town wedding is my nephew’s next year and I am assuming he’ll invite the boys (his cousins).

Much to no one’s surprise the ice maker in my fridge is the bane of my existence. I got sick of having to “fix” it every week so now we just use trays in the freezer.
