hangry not huge. Big enough too carry all of our stuff (diapers, wipes, cream, blankets, extra clothes, wallet and other purse stuff, bottles if needed, etc), but not awkwardly big. I find it more convenient to carry than my old regular diaper bag I had with the older boys.

trtlcrzy still having contractions?! No 👎🏻 they were happening a little bit still last night before I went to sleep but nothing today yet. I did spread a bunch of mulch in my flower beds and walked around a store today. I’m going to take a nap now and then we shall see what happens. My big girls come home this evening and I’m so excited to see them, hug them and smooch them! Ugh!! I remember with DS I had contractions off and on for a few days and when it was the actual day I refused to acknowledge it was actually real until my water broke lol and even then so they weren’t timeable or anything consistent. I think your plan sounds good - spreading mulch seems like a good physical activity so hopefully that helped! Have fun with your DD’s being home! Are you still working?

sdlaura how is your herniated disc and overall pain now?
Sorry to hear about your friend. With your DS did you know the outcome was a one and done surgery or were you up against that tough decision too?

Nope, last Thursday was my last shift 🎉

aries thanks for asking! My herniated disc is still bothering me but seems to still be gradually improving. I’m back fo some exercise now but still nowhere near being able to jog again - hopefully that will come! With my DS we knew that the defects would be able to be helped through surgery, but expected more than one surgery and were pleasantly surprised. The diagnosis in our first pregnancy was that baby wouldn’t survive without a heart transplant, and wouldn’t be able to live long enough to make it to one. So that situation was pretty dire and we decided not to put a child through that since we found out early enough to make a decision. I think that’s a big reason why we went on to have so many kids - that was such a painful situation and made us realize how important kids were to us.

My big kids are home! Also, showering is my least favorite thing right now. They are so much dang work. I didn’t even bother shaving my legs tonight, sorry whoever has to see them but I don’t care. They really aren’t that hairy, my leg hair grows so slow when I’m pregnant and it’s blonde.

That was timely. I think waiting 2 weeks for people to see baby is reasonable.

They really aren’t that hairy, my leg hair grows so slow when I’m pregnant and it’s blonde. I’m also blonde naturally, and I think I shaved my legs once during this pregnancy. I decided that no one was going to be looking closely enough at my legs except my doctors and they certainly don’t care.

sdlaura I am glad it’s getting better and you can at least exercise some! I know just from our interactions on this board that working out is important to you and it would suck if you couldn’t do anything at all. I hope it continues to improve and you get back to running.
That is so horrible you had to make that decision but it sounds like either way it would have had a really sad outcome. Im sorry you had to go through that. It makes sense that a situation like that would help you realize what’s important to you guys too and what you wanted. I’m really glad your DS’s was reparable after one surgery. And it sounds like you will be a great resource for your friend having had experience with both outcomes of the heart defect ❤️

Weeks/Due Date/birthday - Babies are 2 months/9 weeks old
The Good - We had their 2 month appointment today, and both babies are putting on really good weight and growing well on the curve. H (baby A) has now taken a full pound and some change ahead of G on weight and that’s what I figured since he’s obviously larger when you look at them. We finally hired a nanny and she’s come a couple times for half days to get familiar with the babies, and will keep doing that until she starts when I go back to work in August. She’s super sweet and is like a baby whisperer lol.
The Bad - We have a referral to neuro at the children’s hospital because of H’s head. I was concerned that he seemed to have a flatter side and the pediatrician agreed that it should get looked at. I’m hoping it’s not severe enough to need helmet intervention. I feel like the thought of one of those helmets all day in this summer heat sounds terrible.
Milestones/Appointments - Babies are smiling even more now. We are consistently getting 5 hour stretches of sleep which is nice.
To Do List -

willow a nanny sounds amazing right now!! More so for my 4 yo than the baby though haha. I love your updates because it reminds me that one day we’ll sleep again (even if it’s just for 5 hours lol). Sorry to hear about H’s head, I hope he doesn’t need a helmet as I agree that seems really hot to wear in the summer!

Well I just left my ultrasound and the baby measured 10lb 7oz. Ughh I thought we’d still be in the 9lb range and decision would be much easier. Ob’s recommendation is a rcs. But she said she understands if he comes out 9lbs and I’d be kicking myself. She’s willing to try an induction. Oh, I’m also still at 1.5 and he’s high up so no progress there. I’m sad. My gut says vaginal but brain says cs. Idk.
He honestly *feels* smaller or about the same as my first (which was 9lb 10oz). And if I knew that for sure I would go for vaginal. But if I’m wrong, I would feel so guilty if we had a shoulder dystocia situation

lucylou 10-7? Wow that's big. I usually tell people not to focus too much on the estimates because they can be off by a pound or two, but I'd probably be hesitant as well in that case.

I just called my doctor and told them to schedule the cs before I could chicken out. I did say that if I go into labor on my own between now and then, I’d like to let it ride. But considering I’ve made no progress and Braxton Hicks have slowed to almost nothing, I don’t think there’s much chance in that happening. I’m disappointed but feel like this is probably the best choice. Eta: they’re gonna call me with a firm time but it’ll likely be Tuesday

My SIL just kept her in a diaper or a onesie and they rarely went places or stayed outside for long. If he does end up needing one I’m sure it’ll be just fine. I’ve heard that the sooner they get them on, the shorter the treatment too so hopefully that’s the case.

Fx they’re off on the weight and he’s less than 10lbs.

We'll I randomly started bleeding again today so that's fun. I cannot be having an actual period already at only 4 weeks pp right?? Especially nursing around the clock. That would be pure bullshit.

My bleeding started and stopped a few times pp. it could be your period but more likely it’s just more random lochia.

I got my covid test done this morning and picked up my breast pump so I’m all set for my induction on Monday. This is probably going to be the longest weekend ever. Baby had moved so that her back is against mine, I can tell because limbs keep poking out on the front and sides of my bump. She’ll move eventually, I’m sure.

I honestly can't remember what it was like after the older boys, I think I was too sleep deprived. Fx baby flips around before your induction.

My PP bleeding varied in consistency before it finally stopped 5 weeks out. Then I got my actual period this week at 8.5 weeks PP because I’m FF. Yaaaay. Ugh I forgot how much I hated getting periods lol. I wish having tubes removed meant no more periods.

I’ve never stopped. I was just complaining to DH last night about it because I’m so tired of wearing pads. It can start and stop though especially if you’ve been more active.

With my last DS, I had stopped bleeding for like a week and then got what I thought was a period at 6 weeks (while nursing). It ended up being a one off and I never got another until I stopped nursing like 8 months later. Fingers crossed it’s the same for you!

I got IUDs after my other boys so I don't actually know what effect nursing has on my periods. I hope I'm one of the lucky ones and don't have one for a while.

All the pressure and cramping in my pelvis would lead me to believe baby has dropped...but the rest of her body bring up in my ribs has me doubting that. After dh gets home from work and finishes his shower I’m going to take a nice long bath.

Not going to lie, that was one of my biggest motivations for getting the IUD instead of doing a tubal. I would sign up for no periods every day of my life. H can get the vasectomy and I’ll take out the IUD eventually since my sex drive is definitely better without it in.

I did the tubal partially for birth control but also for the drastic reduction in risk for cancer. I have had 2 IUDs and neither time did they eliminate my periods. In fact they made them longer and heavier. BC pills were the only thing that made them predictable and easy.

G keeps spitting up in his sleep tonight, coming out his nose, etc. Which obviously is waking him up. Then he's pissed and wants to nurse again. Which.... more spit up.
