Weeks/Due Date/birthday - 38w1d, 6/28
The Good - I have progressed to 2cm now. If baby doesn’t come this week I’m scheduled for induction next Monday!
The Bad - baby is making me crampy because of how she’s positioned. Reflux has been a little worse the last few days.
Milestones/Appointments - chiro on wed, induction on Monday!
To Do List - Have this baby!
I’m doing some last minute laundry for baby and trying to get my house mostly cleaned up and organized. I’d rather not come home to a complete disaster. Bags are all packed, camera is charged and car seat is in the van. I picked up a couple things I’ll need immediately postpartum (pads and nursing pads) and everything else can wait till she’s here. Thank goodness for target pick up. I got her nb picture romper in the mail today so the only thing left is DD1s dress needs to get here. I also picked up a bibs pacifier because I’ve heard good things. Mostly I’m just very hopeful she will take any paci because it’ll make DH’s life much easier when I’m at work. DD2 refused to take any pacis and I don’t want to repeat that.
Also, I need a diaper bag recommendation. I think I want a backpack and I keep looking at them but I can’t decide. I have an old one I can use in the interim until I get a new one.

lucylou how are you hanging in there? Thanks for checking on me! Yes, I’m just getting so antsy and irritated as the days go by. Usually I’m all about letting the baby come on it’s own terms and do it’s thing but I guess just having this one’s size in the back of my mind makes me feel like I’m on a timer. I’ve had a lot of contractions on and off since last Wednesday. I didn’t experience that with my others and that’s also adding to my antsy-ness. I go back on Thursday for an ultrasound and I’m guessing we’ll schedule an induction then. Hopefully for Friday. Last Monday I was 1.5cm and she mentioned that would be fine for her to use the foley bulb (which is what we did for DS2). So I’m hopeful that one way or another, I’ll have a baby by the end of the week!

trtlcrzy I really like this one. It holds a lot. Has multiple compartments for holding different things. Can be held like a handbag, worn as a backpack, and has attachments to clip to the stroller handle. I got it second hand, but I saw it on Amazon for less than $50.

Weeks/Due Date/birthday - 3 weeks old /May 22
The Good - G slept really well last night. After about a week of shitty sleep and bad gas, I *hope* we're on the other side of it now. He also had a good weight gain last week and is now over his birth weight. Breastfeeding is going well, and I have a freezer stash of at least 60-70ozs.
The Bad - My boobs hurt. The left one gets so engorged, and I'll have random let downs during the day that make my nipples pain (I literally have to press hard against them to ease it). Can't wait for that to settle down. My tear is still healing. My doctor said to expect at least 6 weeks. So fingers crossed it doesn't take any longer than that.
Milestones/Appointments - G had his second EKG today. They were happy with this one so we don't need any additional follow up. He has another checkup next week to check on his weight and jaundice
To Do List - nothing that I have real control over (need to sell DH's car and our house).

Congrats RadleyWeeks/Due Date/birthday - 3 weeks/ May 22 The Good - Sleep has been pretty good so far. The Bad - C is still spitting up so much but at least she’s gaining weight. I woke up in the night with a really sore boob and this evening started with redness and a fever of 102. Milestones/Appointments - 1 month check up next week. To Do List - Go through totes in the attic and start getting rid of boy stuff.

Contractions started up again. I want to go walking to see if we can keep things moving but it’s too dang hot outside. I’m not getting my hopes up that this is it as much as I’d like it to be.

I didn’t think to ask at my appt today. What did your OB or pediatrician say about quarantining baby after you are home from the hospital? I will call tomorrow to see what mine suggests but in the meantime I’m curious about what your doctors recommend.

Baby boy is here! He arrived last night since I went into labor 24 hours before my scheduled c-section 😂
He’s doing great so far in NICU under triple lights (expected given our complications) and I’m starting to feel a bit better after the c/s last night.

Congrats Radley and fikafairy! trtlcrzy our doctors didn’t bring up COVID at all regarding the baby. So I’ve been using my judgment. No one has held him/been close to him other than my immediate family and my parents who have been quarantining with us. I’ve taken him several places in his carrier (some stores, out to eat on a patio twice, to a few friends’ backyards). In public I keep the car seat cover over him and he hasn’t gotten within 6 feet of anyone else while out or with our friends. My parents leave Friday and next week our regular babysitter will come back once a week or so when DH and I both have work meetings. She babysits for one other family and we haven’t seen her since March since we were tryng to be extra careful for my parents. At baby’s 2-week appt I told the pediatrician (not our normal one but another in the practice) that my older kids were starting YMCA day camps on 6/22 and she was excited that camps were opening (said her own kids needed to get out and have interaction with others and act like normal kids) and recommended that I have them be careful around the newborn when they started camps. I told her I planned to have them shower and change when they came home everyday and she liked that idea. I figure statistically my DH is more likely to suffer symptoms of COVID than the newborn, but of course we’re still trying to be careful.

My in-laws are quarantining pretty well but I don’t think anyone else is. A friend of mine said she let her parents/ILs hold her baby but they had to wear a mask. That might be a good compromise.

trtlcrzy my doctor's didn't say anything about quarantining baby. But my province has done really well with Covid (we only have 1 active cases left, and only had 1 positive case in the last 6-7 weeks). We also only see immediate family, and he was 2 weeks old before I allowed anyone other than my mom (besides me/DH/DS1&2) to hold him.

trtlcrzy Her pediatrician said we should avoid crowded places and try to limit taking her in public if able for a few months. No one has held her except DH, our kids and my parents. We are definitely getting more lenient about hanging with other family but try to at least limit their exposure to her.

Weeks/due date/birthday - 3 weeks today/May 26 The good - E is getting more interactive everyday, I love it! Also I’m feeling pretty good and I think my bleeding has stopped so that’s awesome! I only have one thick pad left and didn’t want to have to buy more haha. The bad - he is so colicky and it is really hard not being able to put him down or sleep at least an hour chunk. I am desperate and looked on Pinterest for an anti colic breastfeeding diet (lol) and two things everyone says is blueberries and lemons. I eat blueberries at least twice a day and drink lemon water so even if it doesn’t work I’m willing to try and stopped both of those yesterday and he had a way better day\night. Coincidence? Lol! I know they grow out of this anyways so it’s just temporary thank god. Milestones/appointments - booked my 6 week check up for 3 weeks from now, booked physio and baby vaccines. I feel so accomplished! E’s next checkup will be 3 weeks from now also. To do list - baptism prep on Saturday, finish a few Father’s Day crafts this week with DS1. trtlcrzy I bought a bigger diaper bag that has the option to convert to a backpack. Check out miss fong on Amazon. I think they also have just backpack diaper bags too. But this is what I got and I love it (I use it as the bag though I think this backpack looks weird lol)! Congrats fikafairy ! So glad he’s doing well in Nicu and you are starting to feel good after the csection. Funny you went into labour right before your scheduled one!
magaroni hopefully you were able to get in touch with OB now and are starting to feel some relief. How are you feeling today?

I ended up getting a hold of one of the docs I work with last evening and they called me in a script. Once my temp spiked I really didn’t want to wait to get antibiotics started. Ibuprofen has been keeping the fever down and helps with the discomfort too so I can function today.

I will call tomorrow to see what mine suggests but in the meantime I’m curious about what your doctors recommend. The hospital pedi told us that the baby should only interact with people who live in our house. I'm not sure if that answers your question though.

Weeks/birth date: 1 month yesterday (5/15) Good: Ben slept 6 hours straight, by far a record for him, two nights ago, which was awesome. Then last night he didn’t sleep longer than two hours and was up for nearly two hours in the middle of the night trying to poop and then having a giant poop Hopefully I can get a repeat of the six hour stretch sometime. We had DS2’s 3rd bday party in our backyard on Sunday with my parents and our best friends and their 3 kids, who we haven’t gotten together with in person since March. I set up a separate food table for them and the adults distanced but we let the kids swim and play, and we had a piñata. They all had the best time and 6-year-old DS1 told us it was the best birthday party he’d ever been to The bad: a family friend of mine (my dad’s best friend’s daughter) spent 5 years trying to get pregnant with her second and is due next month, and just found out her baby has a major heart defect. The severity falls in between the pregnancy we decided to terminate (not surgically repairable) and the defect our DS1 was born with (one and done open heart surgery). Their daughter’s defect should be surgically repairable but will require multiple surgeries and will be a long road. I’m really sad for them. Appts - still need to make 6 weeks follow up tele-appt. To do - address and mail birth announcements when they arrive tomorrow, get out and wash 0-3 clothes, say goodbye to my parents this weekend - they fly home Saturday after 4 months here.

Congratulations fikafairy and Radley!!!!! danib my let down pain is just now (8weeks) becoming less frequent and less bothersome. Also, is that bag huge? I would love a backpack style but they all seem so large! I’ve realized as I have mire kids, I need to Bri g jess stuff. Haha. Glad you’re feeling a little better magaronisdlaura I’m sorry for your friends complications trtlcrzy I wasn’t given any specific Covid instructions and we have relatively high rates where I am. I’ve just used my own judgment. Which means no one has gotten closer than 6 feet from him except m our immediate family and I haven’t brought him anywhere unnecessary. P

trtlcrzy still having contractions?! No 👎🏻 they were happening a little bit still last night before I went to sleep but nothing today yet. I did spread a bunch of mulch in my flower beds and walked around a store today. I’m going to take a nap now and then we shall see what happens. My big girls come home this evening and I’m so excited to see them, hug them and smooch them!
