We ran out to buy a portable AC tonight. We set it up in our room and dragged in the pack and play and Josie's toddler bed ... SLEEPOVER! It made Josie so excited -- her enthusiasm for that small stuff gets me in the feels every time.

Sorry it's been a rough go lately cagoldi. We currently resort to letting M use a tablet at dinner because that's the only way to get him to stay to the table. He watches a show while he eats. And lately I've been having to feed him so he doesn't take forever. I'm team do whatever works at the moment so this works for us now. I just hope it doesn't backfire on me when I decide to not let him have it at the table in the future.

Finally Tapatalk is working. I just couldn't do the mobile version while traveling. Every time I opened it I would need to log back in so I just gave up. I'm in Ohio now. peachsmama Let me know how you are feeling to see if you can meet up. What time do you usually get out of work? My nephew is 10 and we are constantly carting him off to some sort of practice so hopefully we can make this work. Traveling with two kids has been interesting. Z is so much more difficult than O. That gives me hope that in two years we will have a much easier time going places. Z also has an EI and is teething pretty bad. I saw some childhood friends while in Chicago. I also went to a separate childhood friend's wedding. When she came out I got so choked up I surprised myself. I feel like since being a parent my emotions are so readily available. I don't think I would have cried in that moment 5 years ago. I don't know if I told you guys this but on the 4th of July I went to a vegan BBQ and had beyond meat burgers and vegan hot dogs. cagoldi. Honestly I was weirded out by what the beyond meat actually was (trying to detect what it was that I was eating) that I didn't like the consistency of it. Flavor was all right but I just couldn't connect what it was. I think I would have enjoyed a more traditional veggie burger more.

Colin is doing well at night again. He's only got 2-3 weeks left of daytime pull-ups so maybe we pull the plug? He was so mentally not ready during vacation that we haven't even brought it up. FX he keeps this momentum.
Chase peed on the potty again tonight. He has no clue, he's just happy to sit there and read. It's so cute.

Took my first zpack dose, sat down to dinner, then vomited as soon as I was done. I would rather cough than vomit. Hopefully it doesn't happen again tomorrow. How soon after taking it did you eat? Like immediately. The pharmacist said to take it with food. I feel fine now. I even went for a walk.

I can get off at 4:30 wednesday or thursdsy. And I'll have my boys by 5. I could be in that town by 5:30. We could meet at a park for even just an hour so the kids can play and we can chat. Or if later works better, I can do that to. I'll pm you my number. I hope Z feels better soon!

I have been waiting patiently for our IT guys to get my new office wired for internet and phones for the last 2 months....today I called to check the status and they said they got it done last Wednesday! So I spent the day moving offices (just to the building next door). My desk didn't fit in there like I wanted it to so I had to get creative with my arrangement. But I am so happy to be moved! Now I just have to organize!
Tomorrow I am off, S will go to day care, MH will be at work, the cleaning lady is coming, and I'm going shopping. Pretty much a dream day. I do have a few "to-do's" to check off on the morning though. One of which is to call the neuro to schedule Sierra's 6 month check up. I've been needing to call, but tonight at dinner she had 3 seizures in 5 minutes. We haven't seen any in quite a while so it was a bit of a surprise. And a good reminder to make that appointment.

tgrimes it's not posted yet but i should be off that Friday and Saturday. Maybe I can ask for Thursday off and we can do lunch or something. Let me know what day you don't have something and I will take the time off. My dad's surgery is Tuesday and that's all I'll be doing there. So Thursday or Friday would work better than Saturday since that's when I leave. Although my mother currently isn't speaking to me or my sister so...I might be cancelling the trip. 🙄

vino & guster It's no secret my mother can be a huge bitch. My sister was the one that told me the surgery was finally scheduled. I bought my tickets today. I called my mother after work to tell her when I was coming in and she flipped out. Highlights of the conversation are her asking me if I ever used my damn brain, going out there was asinine & she didn't need this kind of stress. I told her we wouldn't be an inconvenience because we'd get a cab or uber to/from the airport. She went on & on about how this affected her. I said, "yes mother, because it's all about you." That's when she hung up on me. She now refuses to speak to me or my sister. My sister thinks it's hilarious because she didn't even do anything this time. The awesome part of this story is that my parents are supposed to be her next Wednesday to visit of a week....awesome. Anyone want to bet on whether they show up or not?

snoopmommymom I tried those on Memorial Day. I thought I would die just cooking them. My mom and I gagged at the smell; they are way too similar to cow flesh. I'm queasy just thinking about it. The taste and texture also were a bit much for me. Surprisingly, Pete wasn't crazy about them either. He prefers the Beast Burger. I've never been crazy about burgers so I'm not desperate to find anything that mimics that flavor. I prefer veggie burgers that aren't trying to taste like animals. I think they're great for people who want that, and I can definitely see a need for them when people are transitioning and still like to eat a lot of "faux meats." Hope Z feels better and becomes a better travel companion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Damn cagoldi. I'm sorry. It will get better. 5 is such a great age. Maddie is so much easier than she ever used to be and she willingly tries new food now! She's still a turd about sitting up to eat, but happily grazes. Sigh. He's just...challenging. He's so sweet one minute and then Satan incarnate the next. Is their behavior at 3 an indication of my parenting or how they'll turn out as an adult? If it is, we're doomed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It will really be okay. I used to worry I spawned an antisocial little being. Terrible 2s are nothing. 3 is the worst. Cass tests my patience all the time and I have to remind myself she'll eventually get there. I used to worry I was raising a hell child who would never be properly socialized with M. A will get there.

My mom has over 30 years of experience with 0-4yo (daycare teacher, daycare manager of 10 groups now). She always tells me 3.5-4 are the worst.

On the subject of tough kids, B tests our patience daily. I swear it seems like she has ramped up in the past few days. I am getting so irritated with her not listening to me and just generally acting out. I keep hoping that inthekitty is right and there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
