Could very well be. Even if it turns out to be allergies they’re still not allowed in school... According to our equivalent of your CDC, people should not use public transport, go to work/school when having a runny nose/cough etc. It's the same thing over here as well right now, daycares opened back up with small numbers allowed but they have to be so strict with any sort of sickness that kids have to removed immediately and out for the 14 days. So if I enrolled them, paid, went back to work and then one got 'sick' (and of course they will kids are cesspools of germs) I'd have to go back to working from home, get a COVID test for them, and then do it all over if one of them gets sick. It'd be a complete waste of money and energy with the work from home/office transitions. I honestly don't know when the kids will go back to daycare. This seems so extra with making them have a covid test to come back.

It's not the daycare it's the provincial guidelines set out that in order for the daycares to open they have to follow the guidelines set out. Not all daycares have opened either but when they do the way it is right now, which may change this week, there is a max of people so we were sent an email asking when and if I require childcare so they could figure out how to do it. The COVID tests are for anyone who wants one so there's no waiting for a test, you call and get an apt time pretty quickly from what I understand.

flamingo Since one of my best friends usually takes our pictures here for free, I was shocked at $250 for 30 minutes. I have received a messages from another photographer who only charges $50 for 30 minutes and I looked at his FB page and liked them, so that's way more what I could justify. Now to get H on board. slenle I used to camp quite a bit (pre kid and previous marriage). After too many trips in a tent waking up wet, I finally woke up one day and told my H that I wasn't camping again until we got a camper. Which we did the same summer. Camping in the rain and storms is the worst...campers are meant to be slept in, not spend long amounts of time in.

My boss sent me an email, sounds like we are to return to the office starting next Monday, but only 60% of the day. So weird. What difference does it make if we are there 8 hours vs 5? We would likely be exposed to it in the first few minutes. I'm glad I'll be on vacation the first week back and don't have to deal with it.
I also need to ask if we travel out of state, if there are any kind of self isolating measures when we return? I'm not going anywhere that has high numbers, so I doubt it, but I'll still ask.

We are plugging along over here...just barely. It’s such a busy time for us. Work has been nuts but my husband has finally slowed down after leading a murder investigation that happened in our park. Solved in 10 days....but paperwork and meetings from it have kept him busy. So parenting had been on me fully.
S has her first in person dr appt tomorrow at the hospital since Jan. So we are headed to STL in the morning. We will stay at my parents tomorrow night.
We are expecting a ton of rain the next few days so I’m almost certain we will have to evacuate our campgrounds due to flooding. And they have all been pretty full because camping is the new cool thing due to the Rona.

mwhip My parents were going to fly in for my nephew's graduation in July, but they still have a 2 week quarantine for CA right now. Both my sister and I told them they shouldn't be traveling right now but they're adamant about attending. They were looking into flying here first to avoid the quarantine, but my mom is a little worried about getting caught. lol. I really hope they stay home but I think because of the decline of both of their health situations recently, they're looking at this as their last trip out here.

Be safe the next few days lfig. I think we are just on the edge of it, when it makes it this far north. It's at least going to make temperatures much more tolerable. We were watching live beach cams yesterday morning since it came on shore in Alabama. It will be interesting to see what the beaches look like when we get down there, knowing they were completely covered this weekend.

tgrimes I understand your parents wanting to attend, based off their health. And I'm sure they wouldn't listen to you anyway, your mom definitely seems the type that once she makes up her mind, that's it. How are they both doing? Is your mom completely recovered from her recent issues?

Is your mom completely recovered from her recent issues? You're sweet to ask. She's almost fully recovered but still can't lift her arm all the way up over her head yet. Don't worry, she can wash and fix her hair though, so she's happy about that. Lol. Her eyesight hasn't approved though so she still can't drive. I don't believe my dad has had any major dementia issues, but it's possible my mother didn't tell us about it, if he did. He's had a lot of skin cancer removed, which is pretty normal for him. He never did recover fully from his last bout of Bell's Palsey. M always asks me what wrong with his face when we facetime him.

Then Saturday will drive the rest of the way, which I think H said is about 6 1/2 hours or so. I told him I'd rather drive longer the first day than the 2nd, so we can get to the beach!

I'm taking Evie to the dr at 2:45. She has been complaining about her knee hurting for about a week now. This weekend, it was swollen and although she can put weight on it, she can't walk flat footed. Ice and ibuprofen help, but I have no idea what she did. When I ask her, she says it's from when she ran into her dresser. Um, that would cause a bruise, which she's had none, so I'm not sure what's up, but I'll get it checked out.
She's going to have a tough time walking to and from the beach and in the sand.
I'm happy they could get us in so quickly.

Yikes mwhip , poor E. hopefully it's just an interior bruise or maybe a sprain or something. lahdeedah I know we've talked chicken salad before and I can't recall if you have Publix where you are, but I just tried the Publix "classic chicken breast salad" and it was very good. I added some grapes and it tasted just like my mom's, which is nice b/c now I can get my fix without making an entire batch (since I'm the only one in our foursome that eats it )

(I’m still salty about it. I miss that dang store so much. Kroger’s deli/hot foods has nothing on Publix.) I will keep that in mind when I am in the vicinity of one though. It’s crazy that one of the reasons I was excited about our now canceled beach trip is because I would have been near one.

Mini session picture prices are steep here too. We paid $250 this past year but only bc it was also squeezing in our newborn pictures and it was our wedding photog. I don't do them annually, but I think I will if they come back this year with wedding photographers probably suffering quite a bit this year. vino I think our daycare situation will be similar and we are at 3 different locations, which sounds like a nightmare. I just don't know we'd ever be at work. And the whole center will shutdown for a few days if someone has it.

tgrimes 😳 at your parents flying! Is graduation even happening? Ours are all virtual here. My dad and SM said they want to fly to FL to see my grandma soon and I'm trying to think of a more risky situation...she lives in the villages of all places🤦 they said they may do the car train or drive, but doubt they'd actually do that. They want to fly before Disney opens and the flights are full of kids🙄 (who is flying to Disney)

Unfortunately, there's no way my parents can make that drive anymore.

nam2013 you are not alone in your questions of how parents are to handle things. I get schools not wanting any kind of illnesses around, since you can't be too careful, but most parents don't have unlimited leave. It's definitely something that has been stressing me out and I don't have to worry about it for a few months. Definitely not alone. This 24/7 care-work business is killer. Camp opened today so it was going to be the first tine in three months I had no kids here while trying to work. Dude was freaking out about going. I think he’s got some kind of social anxiety thing happen since he has been home. He never wants to leave. He finally made it out the door relatively easily. Get X and P to DC only to have them turned away for fevers, and they can’t go back until next Monday. This is bananas and every last shred of my sanity is gone.

Evies dr is very concerned about the swelling. The part that is swollen is warm, so she thinks there is some kind of infection but doesn't have the imaging abilities to get it confirmed quickly.
So we are going to childrens mercy downtown. Not to the ER that was across the street because they can just do the imaging and if it's more serious, they'd refer us off.
Not to the childrens mercy that is kind of close because if it is really serious, they would send her downtown.
So I'm waiting on H to go with us because its close to where the riots have been taking place and he doesn't want me to go alone. Even though only 1 parent is allowed per child, he will sit in my jeep.
This is definitely not how I saw this happening.
