Also wasabi I meant mourning not mouthing, clearly. 😂 Bahaha it took me a minute but I figured it out I really need to quit posting during MOTN feedings.

Man, I am the worst at intermittent check-ins. 🤦 Congrats on baby B, sdlaura! Good luck with your csection on Monday, wasabi! Weeks/Due Date - 32w4d / July 12th I had a growth scan appt today. According to the u/s, this baby is 5 freaking pounds already! 😳 I know these measurements can often be off, but because DS1 was 8 lbs when he was born at 37.5 wks, I'm inclined to believe that baby brother is probably going to be a big baby. Which would be kind of a bummer because the take home outfit I got, I purchased in newborn. Maybe I can still squeeze him in it for a few photo ops, lol. I was induced with DS1 due to gestational hypertension, so I was concerned that would happen again but so far my blood pressure has been good! It was 117/70-something today. I only bring this up because it's making me nervous that I could carry this baby as long as he wants to cook, and then go into labor on my own but since I've never done that I don't even know what to lookout for. And I live a whole hour away from the hospital so I don't want to/can't make multiple trips in everytime I think I'm in labor. And then I'll have to wait for the in-laws to come watch DS and they live over an hour away too. I just... ugh. I feel like I would much prefer the predictability of an induction! 😭 This weekend we are going to put together the stroller/carseat (won't put it in the car until closer to due date though), and I received a couple light dresses I ordered for hospital wear and recovery, and I'm starting to put together a hospital bag so it's all starting to feel like I'm really on the downhill here! Woo! Still need to wash most of baby's clothes though, lol. I think the nb outfit should be fine. DD1 was 9lb 3oz and wore her nb clothes for a week.

TMI but this constipation has got to stop. I started taking colace to encourage things to get moving but I think the iron pills are cancelling it out. I just don’t want to overdo the colace and end up with the other problem. Last night I had a really hard time and I can’t do that again.

magaroni I’m glad you were able to do it for all four! My first three were within an hour of arrival at the hospital (and with the second I had driven myself there), but baby #4 took 10+ hours!

aries I am in ON and did not have a covid test, but this was a month ago. I’m pretty sure my hospital still hasn’t changed it’s policy as I just looked at the website recently. They just asked some screening questions. I don’t even remember having my temp checked, but my memory may be wrong.

aries I was tested for COVID. It wasn’t until 2.5 hours after baby was born but it was still done.

Congrats magaroni, I hope mine is that fast too, that’s awesome! hangry I wish I was joining on the baby train tonight haha but it’s almost midnight so I’m thinking I won’t hit that goal! Had intense cramping all day yesterday and day before but didn’t turn into anything. My sons birthday is on the 23rd (different month) so maybe baby is hanging out for tomorrow. 🤞 I’m loving reading all the birth stories - thanks everyone for sharing!

If there are any other breastfeeding moms, I got a haakaa this time. I’d never heard of it before but a friend recommended. I used it this morning and loved it. I usually only nurse from one side so it’s perfect because it just suctions on the other side and collects milk.

A friend gave me one to use this time, but I'm not sure how to make it work. I had a huge oversupply last time and only nursed from one side too, so I'm interested in trying it out.

I didn’t find out about it until DD2 was 6 months old and I still got a good amount. I leak so much at the beginning I’m excited to see how much I collect this time around.

It can be awkward to get set up initially and if you bump it, it can lose suction. Once you get used to it though it’s easy to use.

I got her latched on the side she was nursing from and was able to squeeze it and get it suctioned on with the other hand without any problems. I HATE pumping so I’m so excited to start building a stash with this before I return to work.

Never had it with my other boys but I've seen lots of talk about them in my local FB breastfeeding group so decided to give it a try. Popped it on while nursing this morning (we usually just do one side as well), and collected a full ounce!

I got one for the first time this time too! I have heard really great things about it from my local Facebook group.
I remember last time when my milk first came in, waking up in the middle of the night so engorged and uncomfortable and being half awake and not thinking so I went to the bathroom and squirted it down the sink 😳. I am still kicking myself for wasting that precious milk!!! Plus wasting all the milk letting down on the side not breastfeeding.
I do have a pump but sometimes it’s just annoying to set up with the tubes and flanges and get going so I hope this is way quicker to use.

Same with the pump aries. I still have my double electric, and there will absolutely be times I will use it. But I find pumping so annoying, so if I can just gently build up a starter stash with the haakaa and save the pump for later on when I'm actually away from him, I'll be much happier.

So much faster to use and I didn’t clean it between sessions. I poured the milk into a different bottle and then kept the haaka in the fridge until the next time I needed it and then washed it at the end of the day.

I’ve never heard of this haakaa. I’ll have to do some research. I also hate pumping and therefore rarely relied on bottles in the past. One upside to a long mat leave! I think my supply is mostly stabilized now, so I don’t think I would gather much. I’ll have to look into it more.
