hangry no mention of other tests now but I’ve only talked to my Gp’s office.I have pain from my left butt cheek to my knee and my knee is tingly and numb. It’s mostly ok when sitting or lying down but I can’t walk or stand for more than a minute. It started at a much less serious level at like 34 weeks pregnant and then got way worse after delivery. While pregnant it bothered me to walk long distances but I was still doing the elliptical and was able to get around the house fine. After delivery I couldn’t get out of bed. My friend who is a PT thinks it’s more likely to be a herniated disc that I knocked further out of place while pushing than sciatica. She told me to avoid bending forward and try lying on my stomach (easier said than done while my milk has recently come in), and to try to walk and sit with a neutral spine.

It sounds like a herniated disc. Is your state allowing in person PT visits? Does it have direct access to PT? Some states need a doctors referral, some you can go without. Even without a diagnosis through MRI or CT, a good PT can figure out how it is likely herniated and give you specific exercises to help. Discs can herniate in different directions and therefore different exercises help some or hurt some. I am truly sorry you are dealing with this as I hear a lot about the pain. And being a new mom with 3 other kids at home makes it even more tough. You are a rockstar and will get past this, hopefully soon!!

Thanks hangry! Now that I have an opinion from two PTs I’m going with that as my diagnosis I got a letter in my insurance portal today that said I’m approved for a certain number of PT visits, so I can go ahead and schedule that I think. I also felt very slightly better about moving around today, so fingers crossed things continue to improve on their own too.

Late to this but
Weeks/Due Date - babies are 5 weeks old today.
The Good - we had their one month appt yesterday and they are doing really well! They both have gained 3 lbs in one month which is exactly like their big brother lol. They do pretty well on sleep at night now. Nothing miraculous but they only get up for feedings so that’s nice. The snoo seems to really be helping. They are both adorable and still mostly chill. My recovery is finally on the upswing and I’ve been feeling so much better. Not 100% normal again but getting there. I was able to do a 4 mile walk the other night.
The Bad - even though their sleep isn’t bad, it still means I’m getting up so I am still always tired lol. G has a very minor tongue tie that I think is causing some feeding issues even though he’s growing just fine. Pedi isn’t concerned and said it’ll grow with him and won’t cause further issues but gave me a referral to the hospitals feeding clinic if I want it. We will see.
Milestones/Appointments - since they just had their appt yesterday, next is the 2 month well check mid June. G has a hip u/s next week because he was breech in utero so it’s a standard double check I guess. Pedi said his hips felt good though.
To Do List - just keep surviving with two babies lol

Also late to this!
Weeks/Due Date - 34w2d, June 30
The Good - I'm still pregnant and baby boy has been looking great since he got topped off with fresh blood last week. The hope now is that he continues to look great until our scheduled c/s on June 15, at 37w6d. It's later than I was anticipating, but my MFM technically has off the week before and she wanted to schedule it while she was in the hospital since she has basically gotten us through this miraculously semi-boring version of this kind of pregnancy.
The Bad - seems like all of our hips just hate us. I have had ongoing, intermittent stabbing pain in my left hip when I do things the wrong way, sit the wrong way, sneeze, etc. I also have had a lot of trouble sleeping, which today is terrible because I have back to back zoom trainings/meetings all day today that I have to run. I just want to sit in my recliner and nap!
Milestones/Appointments - guys I made it past 34 weeks with an inside, healthy baby! He's now allowed to be delivered anytime after next Tuesday's appointment as per my MFM if things look funny on my 2x weekly NSTs or ultrasounds/dopplers.
To Do List - still SO MUCH. I think to protect my heart/emotions, I put off decorating, getting things set up, or organizing anything because of our history. But I think the last week I have finally started to feel a bit differently like we will get to take this one home and raise him, so things are slowly happening. All of the stuff we have ordered has been unboxed and is IN the nursery. Nothing is put away or washed or decorated or anything, but it's in there. Carseat and upstairs bassinet will be retrieved this weekend (borrowing both from my sister) and H is supposed to hang up the closet organizer this weekend.

To Do List - just keep surviving with two babies lol DD1 has had a tongue tie since birth. It never affected her nursing or weight gain so we just left it. She’s 6 now and it seems not to bother her at all. It did make her have the funniest cry when she was a baby. She would like trill in the middle of the cry, like you do for some Spanish words.

Just saw my OB. I'm at 3cm and 70% effaced. And she said she had to be careful not to break my water because it was bulged right out. Told me not to go too far and she wouldn't be surprised if I'm back tonight.

willow so we got the snoo and last night was the first night. We changed the settings this morning to be more responsive since I feel like he needed to cry pretty loud to get the motion going. Do you have any tips?

danib that’s awesome, hopefully it progresses tonight and you have a baby soon! And it’s good your h is home now too. At my ob appt yesterday - we went through the ultrasound results and baby is now at 92 percentile 😳. I know the ultrasounds have quite a high margin of error (and even the doctor acknowledged that) but they keep talking as if it’s going to be huge and if we want to induce. I really don’t want intervention if it’s not needed! I feel it might be coming soon anyways - I was 3 cm yesterday (not really effaced though) and I’ve been having cramping all day. Definitely not timeable contractions but more just really ongoing painful period cramps. fikafairy such awesome news for your baby, glad he’s doing so well and still cooking! Sorry about your hips too- it sucks. At least we can all commiserate together. Question for anyone whose had their baby- did you actually get tested for covid when arriving at the hospital or did they just temp check & ask questions? I know it’s prob different in Canada but I think they are actually testing. Sounds really fun for being in a actuve labour and getting a swab shoved deep into your nose.

aries I obviously didn't have three baby yet, but they admitted me to the maternity ward for my stay this week where I'm so close and so they didn't want me elsewhere. Anyway I didn't get a swab. We just did a questionnaire and temp check.

I’m cheating and not filling out the normal questionnaire, lol.
I had my final follow up ultrasound yesterday to check my placenta and the bastard still hasn’t budged. So the doctor scheduled me for a c/s this Monday 😩
I’m pretty disappointed and upset. I think I may have been a little overly confident/optimistic that it would move and I’d still have my perfect birth (hah!) I’m not as worried about the c/s so much as having him early and him still being so little (15th percentile they said).
I guess I just don’t feel done with this pregnancy yet, if that makes sense. Like I still feeeeel like he should stay in there longer and I’m not even to that “omg get this baby out” phase of pregnancy so it just feels so sudden. But... of course I’m thankful that I have the option to have a safe delivery and ya know, not hemorrhage to death.
Anyhoo, I went yesterday to target and ordered a bunch of remaining stuff from amazon so I at least got some shopping therapy in. I need to get everything packed and get the car seat in the car and omg I am not readyyyyyyy 🤪

aries I know this doesn’t answer the question if you go into labor on your own and don’t have time to plan before going to the hospital, but I’m being covid tested on Saturday for my c/s on Monday. So I imagine if you end up with an induction maybe they will do the something similar.

willow so we got the snoo and last night was the first night. We changed the settings this morning to be more responsive since I feel like he needed to cry pretty loud to get the motion going. Do you have any tips? I think I have mine on the default highest sensitivity and it seems to work fine. I would also suggest that for a newborn, you lock the motion limiter. That way it only goes up to level 2 for motion. The higher levels are a little much for just born babies. I mean it’s all safe of course but the website suggests motion limiter at first. I am just about to take the motion limiter off in a week or so. I haven’t had trouble getting motion sensitivity going. It doesn’t respond to grunts or anything which is good because my babies can be super loud grunters. I would recommend joining the “snoo mamas” fb group. There are tons of really helpful people there and women are always asking good questions. It’s super active.

aries I have not delivered yet obviously but at my hospital it appears that any scheduled induction or c-section they test for covid but I’m not certain about if you go in spontaneously. I do know that they have the rapid 1 hour tests available. wasabi I’m sorry things aren’t going the way you hoped. But, just think of the tiny squish that you’ll be snuggling on Monday! How many weeks will you be on Monday?

I forgot to update about my OB appt yesterday. It was pretty uneventful and the only thing we really discussed was my Zoloft prescription. I realized after I picked it up at the pharmacy that I made a mistake and asked her to prescribe 200mg when I only really needed 100mg. I’m going to blame that on pregnancy brain. She asked about tapering and I told her that I didn’t think it was best at this time and she was fine with it. She just warned me that baby might have some feeding issues at the beginning. I still have a little over 5 weeks so if I change my mind I could start tapering later.
In other news I invited our neighbors over for the kids to play and my house was a disaster so I spent the morning cleaning. Her house always looks so nice so I didn’t want to be embarrassed by the state of mine. I cleaned the kitchen, living room and the main bath along with folding and putting away the girls’ laundry. My pelvis/Ute are not happy with me. So I plan to just take it easy tomorrow so it can chill out.

aries yes I got swabbed for COVID. I put on a mask when I showed up, they got me to a room and checked in, and then the nurse put on the PPE and swabbed me. It was not comfortable (sort of like a really uncomfortable tickling sensation rather than pain) but doesn’t last that long. Results were back in probably 15 minutes and then I was able to take the mask off. DH wasn’t tested but they just asked the support person to wear a mask whenever staff were in the room. Thanks for the tips willow! I’ll join that group. @wasabi I’m sorry the placenta hasn’t moved My sister has had 3 scheduled c-sections and has had great experiences! I really hope all goes well for you. Honestly, I may have chosen a c-section if I had known I might end up with such a painful herniated disc from my labor.

Man, I am the worst at intermittent check-ins. 🤦 Congrats on baby B, sdlaura! Good luck with your csection on Monday, wasabi! Weeks/Due Date - 32w4d / July 12th I had a growth scan appt today. According to the u/s, this baby is 5 freaking pounds already! 😳 I know these measurements can often be off, but because DS1 was 8 lbs when he was born at 37.5 wks, I'm inclined to believe that baby brother is probably going to be a big baby. Which would be kind of a bummer because the take home outfit I got, I purchased in newborn. Maybe I can still squeeze him in it for a few photo ops, lol. I was induced with DS1 due to gestational hypertension, so I was concerned that would happen again but so far my blood pressure has been good! It was 117/70-something today. I only bring this up because it's making me nervous that I could carry this baby as long as he wants to cook, and then go into labor on my own but since I've never done that I don't even know what to lookout for. And I live a whole hour away from the hospital so I don't want to/can't make multiple trips in everytime I think I'm in labor. And then I'll have to wait for the in-laws to come watch DS and they live over an hour away too. I just... ugh. I feel like I would much prefer the predictability of an induction! 😭 This weekend we are going to put together the stroller/carseat (won't put it in the car until closer to due date though), and I received a couple light dresses I ordered for hospital wear and recovery, and I'm starting to put together a hospital bag so it's all starting to feel like I'm really on the downhill here! Woo! Still need to wash most of baby's clothes though, lol.

Congrats danib! Can’t wait to hear more. wasabi I understand the feelings of mouthing the birth plan. My c/s was planned but a lot about giving birth right now is so crazy given the COVID situation so not having much control just sucks. I hope your surgery goes well. I can’t wait to hear about him! And while early, 37+2 is still plenty far along for a healthy baby.

Thanks everyone for telling me your experiences dealing with Covid. I think our hospital is moving to full testing like that on Monday so more reason to get this baby out before then haha! But wasabi yes that’s a good point if I do end up getting induced then I’ll push for that ahead of time! I am excited for you to meet your babe, although I know it sucks to not have the delivery happening as you wanted. I’ll be thinking of you on Monday! Congrats danib, I can’t wait to hear your birth details! That seemed fast 😊 I love his name too.
