Yesterday the City of LA and the County of LA extended the safer at home order through the end of July. Orange County hasn’t announced yet and their numbers are lower so who knows. Once they announce their plans I think work might make a decision. So I’m just waiting.

I saw that yesterday chrisy01. I'm glad they're keeping people safe, since it's so densely populated, but damn, I would cry if I was told I should stay home for 3 more months. I told H yesterday, I was going to ask to go back to work soon. Good luck with H today tgrimes. At least your H gets to do the hard work today, although I know you will be worried the entire time. We are going to the school this morning to pick up Evie's belongings. Then we will pick up lunches as well. Nothing exciting.

Morning!
Big day here...carpet installation, B’s teacher stopping by, and speech. This is the most excitement we’ve had in weeks!

I'm impatiently waiting for a text from MH. H's appointment was at 8:45. We talked to him about not crying and getting donuts afterwards if he was good. I also told him I would buy whatever toy he wanted. I'm pretty sure that only works on M, but it was worth a shot.

Our state is fairly strict on things too (as of now our SAH order is through the end of this month, but our governor tends to wait on announcements and OR is already through July so I can see us heading there). I said something to MH the other day about it and how it'll be hard to keep the kids from going stir crazy with everything closed. He just doesn't seem to get it. I mentioned swimming pools, splash parks, etc if those don't open. He's convinced it will all be opened. It's exasperating because I don't know if he's just in denial or what but it'd be easier for me to talk about these things and plan for it with someone on the same plane of reality.

inthekitty pfff I get it. I have no idea what we’ll do with the kids during the summer if it stays like this. Although I shouldn’t complain, things are opening up here but by bit. The zoo is open to members. We’ve booked a vacation cabin in the woods mid July. We go there often and figured even if all the facilities are closed (pool, restaurant, indoor play area) we’d still be out of the city for a bit and able to walk the trails, bike etc.

Morning I slept good, but I’m still exhausted and in a funk. The kids (and us to be completely honest) were becoming a bit to dependent on the tv, so we decided that we should get them back to the old routine a bit (no tv before 5 mon-fri). I cleaned out the pantry, made a fruit salad, there are brownies in the oven. I have an appointment at the midwife tonight, fingers crossed we get to hear a heartbeat .

nam2013 we have a reservation for a condo at the beach for a week in July. However, it's in OR and as of now everything in that town is closed, including the beach, and the condo's pool and restaurants are closed. If it doesn't open up we're cancelling because I think it'd be more of a punishment than a vacation to be trapped in 2 rooms with my family for a week with little to do. If at least the beach is open I could do a few days, but I need the pool, or aquarium or something else to last longer.

If everything stays closed then Cadence will have a summer of gymnastics every day. He's the only "camp" that I know is open.

Good luck to H, tgrimes! Check in when you can! We canceled our air bnb for the shore a few weeks ago. As of then, and I still think now, NJ won’t rent out. I think it’ll be a summer at home which makes me a little sad bc I love vacation and the beach, but we’ll have enough to do here.

We’d bring our bikes, put an inflatable pool in the garden and would at least have a change of scenery and an escape from the city heat. By then I’ll be 21-23 weeks pregnant , so it’ll be nice I think.

We are going to Maine in July, but that’s easier bc we’ll be at my parents’ home, etc. We mostly hang out on the lake so it’s fine. Summer is when all the restaurants and businesses up there ‘make it’ for the year so I hope they’ll be able to open for their sakes. I think things are due to start 6/1.
Now that FL has started reopening we’ve been getting emails from our favorite resort on the Gulf coast. Rates are soooo low. Very tempting 😬

flamingo when is Florida reopening rentals? I'm on a FB page for Gulf Shores and so many people keep commenting that since they can't vacation in Florida, they want to come to Gulf Shores, which is great for their economy, but makes me worry about how busy things will be when we go. Evie is currently going through everything we brought home from school. It's like Christmas, she is so excited to show me everything. She isn't even remotely sad about it.

It was unsuccessful. Since he hasn't been sick, the ENT doesn't think the tube is causing him any harm. They scheduled a follow up appt for July. I'm supposed to keep an eye on him and see if it bothers him at all. Obviously if it's an issue, he'd schedule the surgery.

I saw that, too, chrisy01. Hope you guys get an update soon. This holding pattern is so hard. We got an email from our superintendent last night about school next year not being g business as usual. No formal announcements yet, but I imagine it will be what was discussed here before with staggered schedules, short days, continued distance learning. As much as that sucks, I’m prepared for it with Dude. I just have to know what’s going to happen with my X Man.

cagoldi the state of KS hasn't announced anything yet, but said on the news last night, that they are reviewing options. I'm fortunate that I have family close and a flexible work environment, but many people depend on schools for child care. How are parents going to navigate this?

Morning. I’m sorry. tgrimes I hope it doesn’t get worse. Did he say if that will affect his hearing at all? chrisy01 FX it’s good news. mwhip All this weekend I was thinking maybe we can make a short trip to GS at some point, but if a lot of people are looking there, maybe not. I didn’t hear FL isn’t taking rentals. I heard hotels are open for business. I was actually thinking about looking at rates for the place we went to in Sandestin, but I refrained.
