Hi. I need some recommendations please:
1) Convertible car seat? We have Chicco Keyfit 30 Zips . While I love the general idea of them our issue has been the weight of the seat (+baby x2) and also that I think my kids are starting to dislike the bucket feel. Maybe I'm going to have that issue with convertibles too but they really 'seem' to dislike the cramped feeling of the seat. Do you leave your convertible seat in the car and just carry baby to/from everywhere and put him/her in the car seat when you get to the car?
2) We are going to start crib transitioning - what soothing things do you keep in their room ? Night light, sound machine, some other toy, a ceiling fan, mobile?
3) How are you bathing baby at this stage? Shower with you, regular tub with just a little water (are you in there or not), an infant tub still?

1. I'm still using the bucket seat. I mostly leave it in the car and just take DS2 out of it.
2. We just use a night light that's on a timer. It lights the ceiling with stars and moons. We also use a fan for white noise. But my baby doesn't sleep much, so there's that.
3. We bathe the baby and the toddler together. MH does bath time. He gets DS1 clean and then i bring DS2 in and MH sits on the edge of the tub and washes DS2 from there. There's probably an easier way but that works for us.

1. We've been usinga convertable for 2 months now. We like it so much better (H doesn't flip his shit when we put him in it). It sucks if he falls asleep but that's a small price to pay IMO. We have a Diono.
2. Still cosleeping.
3. I'm still using the infant tub. C likes to sprawl out and play in the tub and H can get a little overwhelmed at times. Once he gets a little sturdier and to a point where he doesn't frighten as easy then I'll start bathing them together.

We are quick to switch to convertible car seat because I hated carrying the bucket and they are roomier. However I don't have twins, so carrying one baby too the car isn't that big a deal.
As far as specific seats I have both a Britax boulevard and a diono radian. Overall I prefer the Britax. With the click tight it's amazingly easy to install in the car, it's big and comfy and has added side impact protection. But it's big and I never figured out how to install it forward facing in my car (I tried for 10 minutes it didn't seem to sit right and moved on to the diono because it was what we were going to use anyway).the Diono is nice but I won't be getting another one. I feel like because of the way it folds it's difficult to maneuver out of the car but my biggest problem is how difficult it is to clean if you kid pukes in it. My kid doesn't have motion sickness but she has a very sensitive gag reflex so this is a big problem for me. It requires a screwdriver and is awful. We travel by car a lot so the seats are very important to me both for comfort and safety.
We also have an even looked tribute for airplane travel but I do not like how it installs rear facing and is definitely not as comfortable.

#1 We've been using the convertible seat since we go back from vacation, so May 26th. Both kids have the Peg Perego Convertible, and I keep them rear facing for a long time. B was almost 3 when I switched and I plan to do the same with J ( both kids are upper 95th percentile for height/weight, and they are very comfortable)
I like it because she can sit in the carts at stores and I keep her umbrella stroller in the trunk.
#2 Kids room have the vinyl roller blinds and blackout drapes, Dohm sound machines, and J has the Lulla doll for comfort. She loves it. No nightlight in J's room. She goes down for naps/bedtime in pitch dark.
I found that as B got older is when he requested some light to fall asleep so they both have dimmer switches on regular lights, no fans.
#3 Just tonight I threw out the angle bath support that we were using. I sit her in clean her up and laid her down in the water to get her bum area, maybe like 1 inch in our regular tub. She was splashing everywhere, loved it.

Phew! I forgot your other two questions I got absorbed with #1 2) we have a Fisher Price soothing machine that I love. We call it the magic machine in our house. The music lasts for 30 minutes which seems to be long enough to actually help them fall asleep. That and pacis is what they get 3) infant tub because it gives him stability. I hate trying to hold up a slippery baby, although we will be eliminating that soon out of necessity unfortunately. I have an inflatable tub I may try to use when we don't have the infant tub it at least provides more side to side stability.

#1 We're still using the bucket seat and I'll probably switch to the convertible soon. I have the Graco my size 65 for M and I bought H one a few months ago. They're really easy to install and I've been very happy with them. #2 We have a homedics sound machine, blackout curtains, and a glow worm. #3 H is still in the infant tub. Once he can sit up more steadily I'll move him to the regular tub. I do what vino does. I've never taken a bath or shower with my kids. With my luck, they'd take a massive shit while I'm in there with them.

Oh and #3. We have been giving all three kids a bath at the same time, or at least the twins. J and K like to splash and giggle together. Both me and MH are there at this stage if the twins are both in the tub, because they try to stand up and sometimes slip and slide.
They have also joined me in the shower.
Having some bath letters or something they can chew on help.

1. I'm still using the bucket. It clicks into my stroller so I did that if he's sleeping. If not I take him out of the bucket and leave it in the car. (I've been wondering about this too though) 2. We use this: Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother www.amazon.com/dp/B006YBHE6M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NGAyzbATQ0T1X. He loves it! He fell in love with the Fischer price monkey one in the hospital but it didn't stay on for long and we had to keep turning it back on. This one has a remote and fades away. 3. He takes a bath with me. He hated the baby tub. I might retry it now that he's bigger though. He HATES bath time.

1- J is still in a bucket. But I'm getting ready to ditch it soon. Just have to pull the trigger. B is in the Chicco nextfit convertible seat (still RF). I like it but it is hard to put him because the sides are high but other than that I have zero complaints. He's also 97% for height and he seems comfy back there even though his legs hit the seat. I'm not sure which one we'll get next but we need another very soon for J.
(I am actually thinking of giving J the Chicco nextfit since he's not as tall as B and getting something different for B that is a little better for taller kids but haven't figured out which).
2- pitch black and I have a oscillating fan pointed at the wall on high for noise.
3- we still use the infant tub. Until he can really sit up without falling over this is what we will do. I cannot wait until I can bathe both kids together but B loves to play and kick and splash and I feel like J will get overwhelmed or topple over. Soon though. I have never bathed with my baby. Slippery babies make me nervous.

1. I have the Chicco Keyfit infant seat too. I still use that one in my car. My H prefers the convertible and has the Graco 4ever in his car. We love it and I will be purchasing a second one for my car when he out grows the infant seat.
2. Black out curtains are a must! Dohm sound machine (although we have been using the humidifier due to illness). I have a night light in there but it's so I can see when I go in there not for O.
3. Using infant tub still, inside of the real tub. He loves it. Will prob continue using it for awhile.

1) We have a Graco convertible for Lillian. I like it and she seems to find it comfortable. We got it got her when she turned 1. I assume we'll get Lilah one for her bday as well, though if we find a good deal we might do it sooner. Right now the infant seat isn't a big deal since she's so tiny. ETA:Convertible seats don't come out as far as I know. Mine is one piece and is locked into the seat with the latch system. It's part of why I have Lilah in the infant seat because she'll nap in the seat sometimes. Though, we just discovered that she'll transfer out, so not an issue now.
2. Lilah is still in our room, but for Lillian we had a small nightlight and a white noise machine. We use instrumental lullabye music while she falls asleep. Neither of my kids sleep well without the white noise on all night (We use a fan in our room for white noise...we sleep better with it, too).
3. Lilah is not a bath fan still. We plop her into the tub with a little water with Lillian. Dh holds her while I wash her really fast. I hope when she's a bit older she'll enjoy it more. Lillian loved baths and we switched to the full bath around 6 months with her since she was sitting really well.

1. We switched out of the infant car seat a couple months ago because he was getting too big for it. We bought a Britax Marathon during the Target trade in event and got a great deal! That went into H's car and I got a hand-me-down Britax from SIL for my car since he's in H's car more. C is definitely more comfortable in the convertible. Yes, we just leave it in the car always. Downside is dealing with sleeping baby and it can get pretty warm sitting in the hot car all day.
2. We use blackout curtains but it's light until 9 these days so it's never pitch black when he sleeps. We have a Homedics sound machine that plays ocean sounds all night and also a Shusher that we use as he's falling asleep that only stays on for 30 minutes. And he has a pillow pet lite thing that reflects stars on the ceiling. We usually have the ceiling fan on low but I don't think that does anything for his sleep.
3. We're still using the infant tub. I never did buy a new one when we talked about it a while ago.

1. L is still in the bucket but we'll be looking to see if amazon will have Recaro convertible (racing car brand from Germany that puts baby seats thru same tests as their racing seats) during prime day! DH was adamant about these seats!! Lol
2. L is still cosleeping with us but we're currently working on him getting out of our bed and into the cosleeper beside the bed. We're getting 6 hours in it but after 3am it's near impossible to get him back down in a timely manner. May try his crib in his room when the weather cools down!
3. L showers with me most days of the week. He'll get 2 baths a week in the infant tub for his oatmeal bath which he loves too! I'm holding off until he's more stable sitting up for the bath tub.

1. We are also still in the bucket seat. It's starting to become a pain to carry around so we may get her convertible sooner than we thought we would need to. DS stayed in his bucket until after his first birthday! Though I had long stopped carrying it around. We have a Clek Fnoof for DS and will probably get another for Dd. They are one of the narrow seat options so someone could sit in the middle in a pinch. I also love this seat in general: high limits for RFing, latch system, easy clean and anti microbial seat cover, low sides for easy in/out. My biggest complaint is that the cushion isn't very cushy and I remember DS havig red marks (that went away) during long drives.
2. Dd is sleeping in her crib. Blackout curtains, dohm white noise machine, lovey in crib.
3. We are still using the infant tub. I barely trust DS with dd in the living room. I don't see them being safe together in water for a while. So I'll just keep using that and doing back to back baths. I don't find it too hard so I'm ok with that.
New question: I'm looking at getting a new umbrella stroller. We have an uppababy gluxe, but I don't love it. It still folds up so big that it's impossible to take when we travel by car and fit the rest of our stuff. I also don't like the angle of the seat (too reclined when in upright), and the canopy isn't as large as I would like. But I still want an umbrella to have a big basket, recline feature, possible one hand steering, and smaller folding.
I'm considering one of the ones that folds down to fit in an overhead compartment: Nano or Recaro.
What do you all have? What do you like/not like about yours?

1) car seat: M and her 95th percentile hiney has been in the convertible for a few months. She hated the bucket seat so when I started to struggle carrying it we made the switch. We have the Maxi Cosi Pria. Somehow by the grace of an other worldly being I managed to snag a two for one deal on it AND it's rated really well for its moisture wicking fabric (sweaty babies say heyyyy). I really replay love it, but would have never in a million years have paid the full price for it.
2) I suggest selling your soul and investing in pallets of wine.
3) In the tub, sitting up, with a boon bath mat to keep her from slipping and toys. I second the foam shapes, they're extremely cheap and very popular in this house. We also have floating shapes and a rubber ducky. Right now H sits in there with her, but that's more so because it's 'their time' than because of worrying about her tipping at this point.

hangry I sold my entire Peg Perego travel set and now have a Summer Infant 3D One. It's amazing. B doesnt want anything to do with a stroller so it's just J and I find it really good because it has the adjustable/extended foot rest, so it mirrors the Peg set or most travel sets in that sense.

Not exactly gear, but product question. What kind of diaper cream do you use? I've used aveeno since O was a baby, but they've either discontinued it or the few stores I frequent don't get them anymore. What kind of bath soap so you use? Specifically for excema. Paging waitwhat. I'm using Honest right now, but only because we have so many free sample bottles and it was worked for O. But I think I might need something different for E since her skin is more sensitive.

hangry I use Burts Bees products for both kids diaper cream - maximum strength one with 40% zinc oxide Lotion-original Bubble bath-original Shampoo-Fragrance free shampoo and wash Amazon or walmart has the best prices for them and usually buy the bubble bath a dozen at a time. After bath i use coconut oil on both kids as a moisturizer. B has spots of eczema and I'm seeing it starting in J, so i have to be careful with products,

hangry I use either A&D or desitin. For bath soap I use the natural one from Johnson and Johnson. But I swear by the aveeno eczema cream. I slather both kids in that stuff. It's amazing.

hangry Triple paste for diaper cream. She has had zero issues since we started using it around one month. Vanicream as recommended by the dermatologist for her eczema. His second favorite is aveeno eczema (the cream not lotion) Aveeno baby soothing creamy wash for bathtime Once a week we do an oatmeal soothing bath treatment (ETA: also aveeno brand)

hangry We're just finishing up a butt paste diaper rash cream but also use aquaphor. And I had a sample of vanicream that worked pretty good too. We're using Eucerin body wash and lotion right now.

hangry We were using Boudreaux's butt paste but the healing was inconsistent. Switched to triple paste and consistently looks better, if not completely gone, within 24 hours. Admittedly we've only had a few ashes to deal with. Mostly on little man. Also as far as bath product we previously used California Baby bath and lotion. I tried Burts Bees and I prefer that, not sure why. But again we don't really have skin sensitivity issues etc so I can't comment to that. We only do soap baths once a week right now. When they're older and get dirtier I'll use soap more and might have to change if I see drying/skin irritation.

Diaper Cream - I think triple paste works the best to clear up diaper rash. Aquafor for every day use.
Bath - I use Aveeno wash, lotion and eczema cream.
