Okay since I’ve been a AW these past days anyways, did the 1+1=5 throw you girls for a loop? My family did not get it 😂. I thought you meant you’re going to be a family of five. One sister + one brother plus the new baby = family of five? |

Yes, I'm at the office. No traffic though.  Not everything is open yet. I don't think our Houston office will open until May 18th at the earliest. It all depends on what the county judge does in the next couple of weeks. Gotcha. Yay for some alone time, even if it’s at the office!?!? Lol! It's definitely nice to work without having to homeschool, make snacks for the 54156412th time all while having H come by my laptop and continue to press the letter H. |

Gotcha. Yay for some alone time, even if it’s at the office!?!? Lol! It's definitely nice to work without having to homeschool, make snacks for the 54156412th time all while having H come by my laptop and continue to press the letter H. 😂 At least he only presses one letter. We have to hide when we are on the laptop because M2 will come and just start fist pounding the keyboard while laughing. 🤦🏽♀️ |

ETA I even bought him his own Leap Frog laptop toy hoping it would keep him away from my keyboard. It did not. |

If school is not back in session in the fall, I will probably just drop B off in the parking lot everyday, lol. Our teacher/school's expectations are very realistic and appropriate but he is not loving these video-lessons they've rolled out in the last couple weeks. He gets antsy and doesn't pay close attention (can't blame him), starts fidgeting, I get frustrated, C comes in wanting something so we have to pause, rinse and repeat.

We only do the parts of the video I deem necessary because M is the same way. We still get what he needs from it, but we don’t sit there and listen to his teacher read a book on this weeks theme for 15 minutes. He can get that from the elective science videos- the themes usually correlate with science- like recycling or parts of plant, etc. |

I am so tired. I didn't sleep well Saturday and Sunday night but did last night. It wasn't enough. Tomorrow is a professional development day so C doesn't have school. I'm quite happy for the break. He did all 4 assignments today but was a complete jerk on 3 out of 4 Zooms and my face is getting extra wrinkly from all of these angry faces. I'm going to take tomorrow off as well since the last time I had to work and he didn't have school he was whining about being bored all day. I also made the decision to have our cleaning woman start coming again so she will be here tomorrow morning. I was hesitant but I'm struggling to keep my head above water so it's a risk we are willing to take. Hopefully C will let me take a nap tomorrow afternoon in my clean house.

Hola! I’m about to juice some limes for margarita mix. Don’t worry, I’ll hold off a bit to start drinking... maybe I have a loaf of banana bread in the oven and the kids are driving me nuts asking for it. L is a crank today, i think his teeth are really bothering him. The other two are just on my last nerve today. I think because they’ve been playing in the living room instead of outside or on another floor... it’s just too close. We’re having steak street tacos and roasted peppers and zucchini with the margaritas. Can’t wait! |

As long as Maddie can do her assignments without the videos I don't make her watch. They bore her and move really slow.
Cass doesn't have much work (just some super easy worksheets) outside of the videos so I was having her watch them, but they are so stupid I stopped. Yesterday was a 15 minute long video of someone doing the sound of letter K. We get it--kkkkkk. Move on. It was annoying her and she was having a bad attitude about it. So I decided I'm not doing them anymore. I discovered on Epic Books not only do they have a big Read-to-Me section, they also have video-book lessons on a variety of subjects and they are pretty good. So we're doing that instead. It also makes her much more independent because she can navigate that website well. It's a hell of a lot easier than Google Classroom.
So that's our plan moving forward. I don't want to fight her to do pointless crap. I figure she has her entire adulthood for that.
