Hai! I just joined the Y so I'm finding my groove. I did my own thing on the treadmill today, but I would like to try a group class this weekend. I'm afraid of being the only one that can't keep up, but I think an instructor will keep me honest.

Thanks for the tag! We're doing a team walking challenge at work this summer, so I've been trying to get at least 10k steps a day. This weekend, I'm going to try to take walks early, before it gets too hot. And Sunday we're going to a state park, so I should do a lot of walking there.

Does anyone have Fitbit? Want to be friends? I do a lot of challenges with friends through that. I told you I was competitive

This is peer pressure. But my kid is 22 months. STILL nursing because he's stubborn, and also I'm actively TTC. I don't know where a fitness plan fits into all of this but it needs to fit because I'm sluggish and I hate the way I look and feel.

I'm afraid of being the only one that can't keep up, but I think an instructor will keep me honest. you should definitely try the group classes! I just started going to the y too and at mine at least, there are usually all skill levels in the class. Okay, the 5:45 cycle class is hardcore, but the others have all been very forgiving. And I find I can push so much harder in a class where there's an instructor and I don't want to embarrass myself whereas if I'm working out on my own I'd just be like nah, I'm done.

My kid is over 2 and I still have the"baby weight." So yeah.
The y is my new favorite thing. Turns out kid free time is a REALLY powerful motivation to exercise.
I start my new job next week though and I need to make sure to stay in a good groove once I'm not just a woman of leisure.

Hi ladies! I just wanted to pop in and share with you a bit of my story. I have lost almost 35 pounds in the past 7 months and most of what I did for exercise was from Fitnessblender.com. The workouts are all free, but I did purchase some programs aimed at fat loss. They were around $10 for 8 weeks. Most videos were around 30 min, a mix of HIIT and weight training, and the provided modifications for all levels. Good luck ladies!

Welp. I lost the baby weight already. But then I gained it back and more. I need accountability. I know what I need to do, I just can't seem to keep it up for more than a couple days.

DS is 20 months, and I gained all the weight after stopping BF when he was 10 months.
We are TTC, but I'm getting to the place that I can't use that as an excuse to not take better care of my body anymore. (Not that it's a good one, just the "Oh, I'll be fat and pregnant anyway" mentality.)
I need to lose this weight to feel better about myself. This weekend's exercise plans include moving, so I'm going to let that count for now. Next week we are on vacation in Colorado, so walks and hiking every day!

I did a 1.5 mile walk this morning. I was tired and it was hot, but I'm glad I went.
This thread is already helping -- I would not have done it if I hadn't posted last night about planning to go for a walk this morning.

Can I join?
I have a 7.5 month old that I'm nursing. I lost the baby weight from my most recent pregnancy but I'm still holding on to 7lbs from my first pregnancy.
I signed up for a 5k at the end of the month, I just have a hard time trying to motivate myself to run in the evenings. I also can't stop eating chocolate.

No change in the scale this week. I've been in a calorie deficit for over 7 months now, and yesterday I decided that I am really over it. I think I might go into maintenance mode for awhile to give my brain a break.

I think I might go into maintenance mode for awhile to give my brain a break. Sometimes increasing calories for awhile will jumpstart weight loss again if you've stalled. I was thinking the same thing. I increased my miles last week and have been hitting the gym 6 days a week so I suspect my calories are too low.

Well i am keeping up with couch to 5k, I had a day of horrendous eating because I was hungover. The positive thing is that I didn't let it turn into a week or more of falling off.
I'll be honest, this is my first cycle tfas and it's really stressing me out because my husband doesnt get the concept of a fertile window and it leads to fights. Now that that window has closed, I'm going to hopefully feel less anxious on the upcoming weeks and more able to focus on positive choices.
Thanks for checking in

I definitely hit rock bottom, or high depending on how you look at it!, weight wise. Between the 4th and houseguests...ugh, lots of fatty foods. I've been very good since Monday morning - workout and walk with the kids every day, good eating - I'm really trying to be serious and stay on track this time.
My plan is to have 1 treat a week. That could be a night out drinking with the girls, ice cream with the kids, date with DH, whatever. Throughout June, I was trying to eat well but I kept making exceptions for every little occasion and then turning it into an excuse to eat crap all day or waiting until Monday to start over. And here I am, 10 lbs later.

I ran just over 2 miles on Monday. We went on a family walk last night and we'll be walking over to the farmer's market tonight. My main goal for today is to not go crazy with the food trucks at the farmer's market.

Thanks for the tag @theo! We are on vacation this week, hiking and doing something active every day. H and I talked before we left about needing to make some changes to our diet, so we will work together on that when we get home.

I've been doing well with my steps this week -- between 10k and 12k each day. I average 8k without doing anything extra during the work week, and by doing a 20-30 min walk ion top of that, I can hit 10k. So, I'm in a good place with exercise.
On eating, I'm sliding back into some bad habits. When I started my weight loss 18 months ago, I cut way back on sweets, fast food, junk food and drinking during the week. I'm still pretty good about not drinking during the week, but the eating habits are getting bad again. I think because I lost a good deal of weight, I feel comfortable/complacent. I need to get stricter, or it's going to bite me in the butt.

I've only been to the gym once in the last week. But mostly that's because I'm too fat for my workout clothes. So I bought new stuff that should be here today. Hopefully it fits. Or I'll cry even more.
Other than that I've been trying to work out at home for the time being. I started BBM 5.0 again since I only made it a week last time. I would rather do that kind of stuff in the comfort of my own home and stick to the treadmill or elliptical at the gym. I don't need people to watch me struggle to lift a 5 pound weight lol.

I would be the slacker. I've cut out alcohol during the week and I'm doing better with my eating but I've not exercised and I did eat two ice cream sandwiches today because ovulating and in pain and other excuses.

@theo I hope walking helps me! DS1 is in camp about a mile away and we've been walking him back and forth (I pull the little guys in the wagon). I'm going to have to convince them to go on more walks with me after camp is over!

I've been doing pretty well! I'm still whole30ing... not even sure what day I'm on. I've had 2 lapses but overall I've really stuck with it. This week has been busy with starting work but I've still made it to the gym for class every day except yesterday (no classes I could get to before or after work). I'm planning to go to yoga tonight and cycle class early tomorrow morning before work.
I weighed myself and if I can drop 2 more lbs I will be the lowest I've been since DD was born. Still quite a ways off from pre-pregnancy though.

I walked/ran on the treadmill for an hour tonight. My new workout gear is so much nicer than what I had. I only had shorts and I would chafe in between my thighs where they would ride up. My leggings are 1 million percent better. I'm going to splurge on some more stuff when I go down a size. That's my motivation. It's also surprising how buying larger sizes that fit correctly can actually make you look slimmer.
