Can I play here? I am still BFing my 3.5 year old (although she's down to once a day which is not helping with weight) and we're on cycle 8 of TFAS. I'm also 38. I lost all the baby weight quickly...but then gained weight when I went back to work when DD was a year old and even more when we started TFAS (stress and loving sugar...not a good combo). SO is not living with us right now and hasn't for the past 2.5 years (due to work) so I am parenting alone. Basically this means I don't have time for the gym or even actual workouts...so I'm just trying to keep active as much as possible with DD in tow. I just need a place to vent and to be kept accountable when I think junk for breakfast, lunch and dinner is a good idea. Hope you'll have me!

Have you looked into Bikini Body Mommy? I know quite a few ladies here have done it. I like that it's only about 20 minutes and you can do it at home. My 3 and 5 year olds like to do it with me. And I like that the host is a mom and that's how she got started. Because it's almost impossible to find time for working out when you have kids. Just a thought. But also, yes, vent here about food struggles! It is so so hard. Good luck!

bunnyfungo I actually signed up for it but haven't actually tried it yet. My DD likes to climb on me when I'm trying to work out so I'm worried I'll just end up getting annoyed. I used to work out with her in my ergo which was awesome and I did stairs with her every day for the first year...which ended up not being a great idea because it wrecked my knees completely. I will try some of the videos and see how I do with them. I'll start this weekend See, you're motivating me already!

I just started 5.0 because that's right after she had her last baby and she is basically my size and pretty out of shape. I find it reassuring that she struggles along with me. Like working out with a friend. If you do that one, we could keep each other on track!

Hai! I just joined the Y so I'm finding my groove. I did my own thing on the treadmill today, but I would like to try a group class this weekend. I'm afraid of being the only one that can't keep up, but I think an instructor will keep me honest. I do Zumba there. My friend swears by the turbo/cardio classes

Hi. I'm joining in a smidge late. I would love to lose the extra 30ish pounds that is hanging around. With 3u3, I would love to have my energy back so that I am able to chase and play with my kids. I Zumba a couple times a week and just started C25K this week with hopes of doing a 5K this fall.

I was in my co-workers office today and she had a post-it tacked to her wall that said "make an effort, not an excuse". It really resonated with me so when I got back to my desk I wrote my own note. It kept staring at me all afternoon. When it was time for me to get to the gym, I was trying to come up with any excuse...but that damn note wouldn't let me.

I'm doing pretty good sticking to the eating plan. I snack a bit too much, but try to stick to healthy snacks. It seems to be working for me.
I try to walk or at least use the elliptical everyday, but ideally I'd be doing that plus a dvd workout. That hasn't been happening.

Well I'm knocked up again so my plans have been waylaid. That being said, I have been concentrating on eating really healthy this pregnancy and that combined with my usual first tri situation has resulted in me losing 6 pounds so far. So good and bad?

Well I didn't start when I said I would, but I started last week and I'm down 4.2 pounds this week. I'm off today and I took dd to daycare so I plan to do some kind of exercise even though I wasn't planning on introducing exercise for a couple more weeks. I also plan to meal prep.

So good and bad? +1 to this...but I'm down 3 lbs not 6. I'm just going to try to get in 10 000 steps a day but nothing more strenuous than that. I'm already AMA so don't want to mess anything up.

I ran a 5k on Saturday. Since I've only been running once a week my goal was to complete it in 35 minutes and I finished in 33:49. I'm happy with that, especially since there were hills.
I'm going to try to run either today or tomorrow after work. I'm hoping to get in some morning runs since it's supposed to get into the high 90s later this week. I'm only working 3 days this week and then I'm on vacation (or "staycation", I suppose) until next Thursday. We aren't travelling anywhere, just doing day trips to the zoo and other local spots, so I'm hoping to not go into full blown vacation mode with my eating and drinking.

4 weeks ago I had the personal trainer at my gym write me a weekly plan and show me proper form on the equipment, so I would feel less like a doufus. And I am so glad I did because I saw great results in the 4 weeks! My goal this week is to switch things up and re-write my own plan for the gym, and I'm also going to try and get to our high school track and run the bleachers with a trainer friend of mine.

I had to get through our move last month, so I "officially" start tomorrow!
I would love some exercise ideas that I can do from home. It's roughly the same temperature here as the surface of the sun, so walking and anything else outdoors is not happening.

My eating has been so so. Not terrible, but could be better.
I haven't had as much time as I'd like to exercise. I walk a lot for my commute but I haven't had much time to take a walk during the day because work has been so busy. Hopefully things settle down soon.

I've been doing pretty darn well if i can brag on myself a little bit. I've made it to the y just about every day that my work schedule has worked with class times, and I've done something else active (like hiking) on days that I didn't go.
I've been eating pretty well also. I've been trying to stick to mostly eating whole30ish at home and then eating whatever I like when we go out. It seems like a pretty sustainable system because I don't feel deprived, but we only go out once or twice a week so I'm not eating tons of junk either.
I don't weigh myself often, but now officially at the lowest weight I've been since DD was born in April 2015. So that feels good. I still want to lose at least 10 more, but once I get there I'll wait and see how I feel at that weight and then try to lose a little more or just focus on fitness and toning. I care more about how I look and feel overall than about a particular number.
