Having such a hard time meal planning. Since MI is so bad I'm really trying to just do grocery pickup and you never know what you'll get so I end up with a lot of half recipes. I can't even get a time slot for pickups so MH has been doing all of the grocery shopping. There's no telling what the store will/won't have so meal planning is non existent these days. I do feel like grocery stores have rebounded and a lot of food is back in stock. Cleaning supplies and toilet paper are still very scarce.

My deliveries have been pretty consistent. I’m hesitant to do in store because of the number of cases in this area. I usually have to go to two stores to get everything so I set up Aldi first and then do the Big Y for the next day so I can fill in anything that Aldi may not have in stock. I’m trying to pull together an order to celebrate my birthday next week and M‘s birthday the week after. I want to be picky about proteins but I can’t if someone else is picking them out so I’m trying to stay on the safer side of things.

flamingo, that would be super annoying. The amount of showings for a rental (are they still planning on renting it or is it on the market for sale now?) seem excessive for pandemic times. Seems like more of this could be done virtually or in one lump open house time. I would be tempted to stop making any effort to tidy things up beforehand...if B had a giant blanket fort out, I'd say eff it and leave it assembled while you go for a CFA run. Still renting. I’m truly shocked we’ve had this much traffic. I decided I would play their way for the first week and then put my foot down. Going forward I am going to say that all showings need to be on predetermined days (say, Wed and Sat or whatever) and back to back...no more of this one here, another one three hours later nonsense. I’m trying to be fair bc our lease does say we will allow it to be showed, but I think they need to be willing to make some accommodations given present circumstances. And if they give me guff I’ll call the state realtor board and/or the governor’s office.

Hi girls.
Today was the first time at least 3 weeks I have found an open spot for grocery delivery. Some stuff is still out of stock. But I am a spoiled, high maintenance birch when it comes to food and eat less common items anyway.
Like I am sure if I were trying to find meat and dairy that might not be so easy. I was highly annoyed when my dried lentils and beans were suddenly disappearing from store shelves too.

flamingo I think that you have been beyond accommodating and they are taking advantage of you. Kids home 💯 of the time and a highly contagious virus circulating = virtual tours, IMO. No one could fault you for that.

I became a shipt member this past week ($15/month, but I'll cancel once this is all over) and it has given me time slots within just a few days. We had a target order come yesterday morning and tonight will be an HEB order for all the things I forgot on the target order. The driver texts you if things are out or if there is a possible substitute. Then ding ding ditches it at your front door. It's great!

School was just canceled for the rest of the academic year.
I knew it was coming and it is the right decision, but I am really upset for X, mostly. Does this mean we can expect him to have no meaningful therapies during g a critical time in development for a whole six months?!
I watch videos to help me with speech strategies and do sensory activities to the best of my ability, but damn. I can’t wear all these hats. I’m not a ST, OT, or PT.

Hi! I’m at my normal day of work. It’s also my weekend to work, so that will make seven days in a row. I’m not complaining because it’s only a couple hours each day.
Fridge guy comes between 1-3pm, so I hope he has decent news for us when he is finished.
MH wants crawfish tonight, so that’s what we are doing for dinner.

No one could fault you for that. Absolutely. I can't even wrap my head around so many people wanting to view rentals in person at this time. (And one of my hobbies is viewing homes and when I've purchased I looked at a ton to be sure.) It's not permanent. You've seen some pictures and know it's a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1800 sq ft in the Pleasantville neighborhood. Good enough. We'll take it.

No one could fault you for that. Probably. But they have proven themselves to be assholes and I want our deposit back in full. I have no doubt they are the type to try and keep it over non-issues, so I am trying to avoid giving them any ammo, so to speak. ETA: up to a point, of course.

Can I say that SIP is a joke in my state. The first few days it was noticeably less traffic on the roads. This past week on my way home from work, everyone is at the stores that are open. Lowe’s and Home Depot are busy and kids in stores with parents. No one is actually enforcing anything, soooo yeah. Guess we’ll be doing this longer than we should have to.

Just this week S’s OT sent a few activities directed towards her goals. But that’s the first communication I’ve had from any of her therapists. She thrives on routine and it’s hard when I’m trying to work.

Fenced yard, min 4BR’s/2 BAs, and we wanted a particular school district. We were moving late in the summer so a lot stuff was already rented. Was it my dream house? Far from it, but It checked the boxes, they’d give us a 3 year lease and they’d take our big dog. (In hindsight I wish I had researched the PM. Maybe that’s why 10 ppl have looked at it and no one is biting—maybe they are more savvy than me lol. (At the time, though, there weren’t many reviews, good or bad. Now there are tons, all bad 😏)

Every real estate listing I see (still get Zillow emails 5 years after buying) has a virtual tour. But it seems like houses are still selling super fast so that market isn't slowing down. I can't imaging having strangers coming through multiple times a day, in my safe place. You've been very accommodating flamingo. Grocery delivery isn't that much of a thing in the small town I live in. It is here, but not that common. I could drive 15 minutes closer to the city and easily do it, but I've heard time slots are ridiculously hard to get. So I just take my mask and my handi-wipe that I keep on the cart at all times. I wouldn't even attempt Aldi at this point. That store drives me nuts on a good day, hell no during this. I did hear that all aisles are now 1-way and they only allow 1 person per cart. lahdeedah My H said his commute is much better, so I think the 8-5 working folk are in the majority of people staying home. But the Home Depot closest to us is always packed. I would be so paranoid setting foot in one. Whatever your home improvement project is, it isn't worth going in a home improvement store at this time. I need potting soil, but refuse to go there to get it. Re cleaning supplies. My job involves buying all those supplies to keep our plant and offices clean. Last week, I spent almost $3000 on various cleaning products, no Clorox wipes exist. Many websites I frequent for them, show out of stock until August!

My mom sets an alarm for midnight to look. Obviously that's my area, I know many are very different.

Also, I have a ST friend so if you need anything let me know and I can connect you. Still, obviously not that helpful but something.

Ok sorry for my million posts. flamingo, that's insane. Especially for a rental! Our area can't do any showings right now. My sister and BIL's place was for sale (they already closed on a new house) and they decided to just pull it off the market for now. Let's hope someone who saw it today just rents it so you can be DONE!

Both of my kids have had one each and they’ll have left the meeting super excited, but as a parent I found very chaotic. The very best thing I saw was the director of Charlie’s preschool sending out a video where she sang one of the songs they often sing. That was so nice to watch (even add nauseum) because there weren’t an additional 10 voices

No cleaning products or paper towels/TP to be had in stores here, either, but everything else is stocked pretty normally right now. Stores in my hometown seem to have paper goods consistently now bc there’s a Georgia Pacific plant nearby. So if nothing else, you can find their brands. Wish we had a Lysol/Bounty/Charmin factory here

We have had a couple Zoom appointments now and it’s probably better than nothing but still wholly insufficient. He doesn’t really get what’s happening and isn’t ready to sit at a computer to be asked to do things from a total stranger. I asked a couple of my SN mom groups which do have professionals, so we’ll see what that yields. The YouTube videos and articles I read come from them usually so I am afraid that is as far as we can get right now. It’s all very piecemeal. I know everyone is doing their best under the circumstances but it really sucks. The kids with higher needs are going to suffer disproportionately.😢

I think they're doing them every Monday going forward so that'll be good. His teacher wants the kids to meet and then after just the parents and teacher if possible. I mean, I'll try but A will likely be screaming right behind me 😂

lfig do you know anything about upcoming IEPs? I realize this will be state and county dependent but curious if you’re getting communication on that front? We were supposed to have ours next month. Obviously they can’t update his goals without establishing he’s meeting them. Conveniently, the link to our CA Special Education website is down.😡

Economists and the education council board are toying with the idea of cancelling the summer vacation over here are ‘because teachers are having to much free time trough out the school year and we need to catch up for lost education time’. Wth?! Apparently they are forgetting that both teachers and students are working there asses off as we speak...

I was just getting him evaluated with private ST and FINALLY found a Floortime provider a few days before we went into lockdown. The school district goes a little lighter on therapies during summer, so I was trying to get those established in advance of that. But none are scheduling appointments for the foreseeable future.
