I made a delcious, easy double lemon cheesecake for Easter. It was so good, I had some while I was reading you all talking about desserts. And I called my dr. Slightly abnormal pap, not as bad as I've had before. She read some numbers to me that didn't mean much and said we didn't need to do anything this year, so I can still wait another year. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as you thought. I really wish they'd just remove our cervix once we're done having kids. I hate waiting for my results every year.

Goodbye pound cake! So boring. Although my parents used to grill or griddle theirs and put fruit and whipped cream or ice cream on it. That was always fun. I’m appalled! Pound cake? Nooooooooo. You must not have had any good ones. I especially love a lemon or lemon glazed. YUM.

I’m an fan of-the garage fridge, lahdeedah. Would you buy new and keep the old for storage? This thought has crossed my mind, too, but the fridge is huge and we have no garage space for it. If it was smaller, maybe.

flamingo , I think cheesecake is in its own category. I’m picky about mine. I don’t like it too dense. I prefer a softer texture and I don’t want fruit on top of it. Ooh there I will have to disagree, I do love strawberry topping on cheesecake. My mom makes a layered dessert in parfait glasses with blueberries/syrup, cheesecake filling and cheesecake 'crust' that is delicious.. That sounds good right about now! Sits on bench. Love fruit on cheesecake.

flamingo , What are the protocols really estate agents have to follow in a mostly quarantined society? Shoes off? No touching? Gloves? Masks? Our real estate agent posted on Facebook that she was saddened the real estate market was deemed essential and she would not be showing houses unless someone wanted to see one virtually. I've seen gloves and masks on a few of the realtors/lookers who have been through here; for my own part, I leave hand sanitizer on our hall table with a sign to please help themselves, and I leave lights on and closet doors cracked so they're not having to touch door handles, switch plates, etc. And then I go through and wipe 'high touch' surfaces down after they leave. TBH I'm not terribly worried, b/c our area is *very* light on active cases, but I don't want to be foolhardy. Virtual tours are being promoted by a lot of realtors I know. At the very least, a lot of realtors are using virtual tours to help their clients 'narrow it down' to a couple favorites to see in person, vs. seeing 5, 10 homes or more.

To be clear, I'll still eat cheesecake with fruit/syrups on it because cheesecake. But I prefer not to eat it that way. I don’t want fruit on cake either (I’m looking at your Black Forrest and pineapple upside down,) but you’re right, I’ll eat it.

My MIL is not a cook or baker at all, but she makes two things I love, one of which is pound cake (she puts almond extract in it, I think, and it's amazing).

Served hot and always with a scoop of Bluebell Homemade Vanilla ice cream. Welp. I guess I know what I’m making this weekend.

I love it as a dip for fruit and I love it as a filling inside of a cake but I can’t get with the crispy shell. I put my hand upon your hip When I dip, you dip, we dip You're welcome. Sorry. I'm a jerk. Yes yes you are🤦🏻♀️

Cher posted a lemon cream cheese coffee cake in one of the GD threads that I have bookmarked. I bought all the ingredients for it, so I should probably make that soon before my lemons go bad. Well damn, just realized I have to throw my cream cheese out cuz broken damn refrigerator. 😭

Mmm. So much dessert talk. I want it all.
So weird going to the clinic for Ls appt. I was literally the only patient I saw from the entrance to the exam room. Such an eerie feeling. L did not handle the shots well... at all. I could not calm him down. Nothing worked so I eventually just packed him up and left with him still crying. He finally stopped when we got to the car. Poor kid. Im putting him down for a nap now and he’s had no interest in nursing. I’m sure he’ll wake up hungry. Although, he can afford to miss a meal since he’s sitting at 99%bmi 😂

lahdeedah I googled: In general, hard cheeses like cheddar or Parmesan have a longer shelf life than soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert, but as far as soft cheeses go, cream cheese is relatively hardy. According to experts at the Dairy Council of Michigan, the shelf life of cream cheese can be as long as two weeks. The best way to extend the shelf life of your cream cheese, and make sure it lasts as long as possible, is to store it correctly—and that means keeping cream cheese refrigerated. It's not like it was room temp, so I would stay you're still good. BUT if you are concerned, throw it away. Dairy is so tricky. Personally, I'd probably still use it. But only because it was at 50 degrees and not room temp.

Oh, and his doctor said he likely won’t have a 9 month appt since it wouldn’t be a necessary appointment, and she thinks the clinic will only be open for essential appts still in July 😳. I shouldn’t be surprised by that, but i am! So he won’t go back until he’s 1.

I’ve never found fruit pies like the ones in the states over here, I really miss those. That flaky almost savoury crust is the best...

wineallthetime my milk was so weird. It appeared fine as I poured it but would get chunky in the cup in a few minutes so I tossed it. mwhip sorry about the abnormal test, I get those every few years, so stressful. C was supposed to get a second hepatitis A vaccine at his 2 year appointment in December but he ended up having an ear infection that day. The doctor told me to bring him back in a few months. I’m wondering if there is a time limit between doses that we can’t exceed. I really don’t want to bring him to the doctor, we are well over 1,000 cases right now. I guess worse case we start the series over again. I could call but I don’t even want to bother the doctor over that.

Pretty chill over here. I was trying to work this morning and Cadence was bitching about, so I just told her it was important for me to work right now and for her to try and do her worksheets by herself as much as possible. She did it willingly, so that was nice.
We did an activity after lunch involving maps. I printed out the Houston zoo and Austin zoo map and took the different paths to different animals. We then made a map of our house and hid some stuffies to find using the X's on the map. She really enjoyed it.
Now we're just waiting for her dance class to start.
