I’m not getting furloughed at this time. They will re-evaluate at the end of the next month. So glad to hear this. Phew!

Last week when I made the dole whip cupcakes, we all ate them up, but M wanted chocolate cake. I have brownies for this week. We shall make them tomorrow. Cheesecake sounds delicious though. kim22 what recipe did you use?

Good evening - my dad and SM came over to pick up the masks I made this afternoon. My dad is awful at this, he poked around the yard, fixed the sign j broke, and then insisted he use our bathroom! So I quickly wiped down before he could come in but am embarrassed by the literal disaster zone the house was in...I was up late finishing the masks, so kitchen was a mess and kids crap everywhere since it's fend for yourself while we try to work during the day. Oh well. They actually may have had it too, they had an awful bug that lasted a solid week at the beginning of March. Hoping that was it and they are on the other side.
In other news, the thought of going back to being out of the house 11 hours a day is going to be a rude awakening. Getting pants on and my face washed in the morning seems aggressive lately😂

jewels I think I missed an update on your H, do you think he had it and is he feeling better? I am unsure if he had it or not. He got better very quickly and has been fine ever since (over a week now). We kept him quarantined for about 3 days after the fever broke and then let him back into our little society. I am wondering if b had it when he was sick the week prior. It just felt so different for him than his usual sickness. Which as you all know, I am very familiar with. Thanks for checking. How are you feeling?

jewels I don’t think any of the parks by me fall under state or county. The playgrounds have been wrapped in caution tape but we can still walk (not that we have many walking paths, our parks are small).

Cheesecake sounds delicious though. kim22 what recipe did you use? sugarspunrun.com/best-cheesecake-recipe/I used that. It was the first one I found where I had all the ingredients already at home. The crust was not enough to cover the bottom and sides of my pan so it is only on the bottom but it held together more than I expected.

This is how ours was but the mayor of my town said they are going to follow the advice of the governor and shut our parks down too.

Question: I have become very friendly with one of Josie’s friends moms. She is really struggling to keep it all together thru distance leaning and having everyone home. I have offered commiseration and very gentle roundabout advice, but she usually shrinks away after those conversations. We haven’t spoken about anything significant for the last 4 or 5 days bc it sounds like she needs space (in general, not from me, and I’d like to respect that.) I think I’d like to do something to let her know I’m thinking about her and hoping it gets better. 1. Do you think this is dumb? 2. If you were going to send something, what would you send?

I’m jealous of everyone who can still have people come to your house or go places such as chiropractors. My appointment to get a cracked tooth fixed on March 17th got canceled and the tooth will probably be beyond repair before I can do anything about it. We are over 500 cases in my city alone. A family in my neighborhood all have it, including several children and they could not even get one dose of Tylenol between them. I keep asking how is this America in 2020? That’s awful. Dentists here are open for emergencies and a cracked tooth is an emergency to me. I believe the last time I checked that my state is either the lowest or one of the lowest in positive cases. There have been 4 or 5 deaths. Don't let it keep you from being extra cautious. My state went downhill extremely extremely fast. Take it very seriously. I'm not directing this at you personally but everyone. It's absolutely terrifying.

So one of my bosses said this has proved I can work from home and are discussing letting me work from home up 2 days after this is all said and done. They like the idea of me getting more work done without the other distracting me. One positive thing to come out of all of this. Imagine how much more productive you’ll be with the kids at school/daycare.

Wearing masks is the worst just so you all know. I feel like the lower part of my face is in a sauna. Not looking forward to this for the next 3 months.

Majorly cleaned the kitchen today including the counter we just pile stuff on. It was gross and way passed due. Feels so good.
I had plenty of time to do so because our medical records system we switched to 2 years ago is a complete POS and despite rebooting my computer over 1/2 dozen times it never worked so therefore I could work. 😾
Went on a nice walk. Made snickerdoodles tonight. 🍪

I ordered masks for all of us. Don't plan to take the kids to stores but wanted to have them just in case. I don't mind wearing them but it seriously sucks for me to hear people. I struggled this weekend at work with those wearing them.

I'm pretty back to normal, felt a bit dizzy and my hand tingled a bit, but was fine after I drank some water. I really wish they had tests to know if you had it and then people could be cleared to go help others that are higher risk. I'd be a personal instacart for family and friends.

guster I think that's really nice. I was thinking of getting a little something for someone I know having a hard time as well. If you have any clue of what she likes to eat or needs around the house I think basic grocery delivery is really appreciated now. Produce or frozen meals (Schwann delivery). Or some craft stuff to keep her kids busy (Michaels has curbside pickup). Or a certificate to a place doing dinner delivery.

guster I got my friend a cozy blanket, slippers, and a wine glass. She is having a hard time but it’s also her 40th bday so extra bummed not being able to have the big party planned. So I wrote a note telling her to relax and rest up and that we will party later. She has super sensitive skin and an odd shaped bathtub. If she didn’t though I would have done a bath bomb, lotion, and one of those trays to put a book etc for when you take a bath.

There is a test to see if you have been had it but it’s not ready to be released yet. It sounds like it’s a fast resulting test so hopefully they implement it soon.

guster I think this is very sweet of you. I’ve been delivering little things all over town in the past 4 weeks, tea, flower pots and seeds, flowers for a little sunshine, wine, shower/bath bombs to relax, flap jacks & bubbles, colouring books, playdoh for kids. I made a little easter cookie making kit that I’ll deliver today. I figure anything sweet that shows you’re thinking of someone is nice and shows we’re in this together. ETA for spelling you’re not not your...

kim22 holy cow that’s a lot. Please stay home and order if you need anything! I know you are not on Facebook but my town has a lot of small restaurants/stores/butcher shops doing curbside pickup so you don’t have to even get out if your car. Last night from a small store I was able to get eggs and fruit Many restaurants are doing a ‘survival meal’ with a platter of chicken (you choose parm, francese, etc), a platter of pasta and a platter of salad with garlic bread for $30. 3 different places in my town are doing that. Hopefully you can use some of this to get you through. Stay safe!

guster I think that’s sweet Do you know if there’s anything she needs? A local mom was struggling and mentioned tea calms her - I basically live in a tea shop bc i collect teas. So I dropped off a care package of like 2 dozen different teas. She was ecstatic Someone else reached out to me when they went shopping and asked if I needed anything. It sounds silly but her dropping off a bag of carrots made my day. Otherwise I agree, maybe a fun activity for the kids or something? Have you connected the kids? S did some FaceTime meetups with his friends and it was sweet to see

Thanks, everyone! I was hesitant bc she kinda shoed away from more conversation, so I didn’t want to feel like I was in her face, but I sent over a box of snacks from amazon. Josie and her daughter have sent some videos back and forth. Maybe I’ll have her do another today.
