Hi.
We have a chimney sweep here cleaning our fireplace; had to have it done before move-out. It is noisy and a bit smelly so I’ll be glad when he clears out.
Not much on the agenda today otherwise.

Morning! We went to a dune lake early this morning, we avoided nature because of crowds etc. but it was so quiet and nice. I cried because it felt so normal, the kids had a blast and it was a much needed break from the house for everyone. Currently working but not motivated in the slightest. Hope all you girls are well. Hang in there!

I need a distraction. Anybody interested in a thread about something fun? Let’s say your first kiss? Your first trip without parents?

Morning ladies. Back to my regular job today. I heard from my coworker friend last week how our insecure boss has been overbearing. On normal circumstances when I'm physically at work he comes to me with a work-related issue maybe once every two weeks, if that. He's been calling and emailing constantly about unimportant nonsense. I think both his insecurity and a need for him to feel like he can report he did something is behind it. But I hope it settles down soon because it's over-the-top.

Morning. I woke up this morning with crazy anxiety. But 1/2 a Xanax later I’m feeling much better!
Today I have a telemedicine appointment for S with her neurologist at 11 and a conference call at 2 for work. Hoping S will take a nap so I can participate in the conf call. Because I have questions!

MH is going to attempt a concrete extension of our patio project today and I think it's going to be a clusterfuck. I hope he doesn't try to enlist my help much.

Stormy day here, so you'll find us inside. The kids just want to eat pickles, whatever!

Morning! I am feeling less weepy today than yesterday, so I checked in on a few friends and sent a note to Chase's best friend's Mom about connecting the kids this weekend over zoom or something like that. I need to do the same for Colin, but honestly he seems to be doing far better.
Tuesdays seem to be Colin's busiest day in terms of classwork. He was so easily distracted yesterday, with the nice weather, so I was really struggling to get a jump on today's work. It's probably going to be stretched across the entire day and into the evening like yesterday. I am trying not to stress him about it but I also want to keep up. Sigh...
DH is off to do a big shop so he can avoid the stores for the next week and a half or so. He found an unused painting mask in the basement, so he at least has something. Baby steps.

I’m always in for a GTKY. Silver linings in this situation? Songs that make you happiest/make you cry?Things you couldn’t live without? Things you say in your house that would have to be explained if you said them anywhere else?

Stormy day here, so you'll find us inside. The kids just want to eat pickles, whatever! You girls really need to lear to eat breakfast the Dutch way. A sandwich, with either cheese or peanutbutter or chocolate sprinkles. No cooking ever. Same for lunch 😱. ETA oh and that is whole wheat flower bread and with margerine in most cases.

Struggling with this damn seesaw site. There are parts that involve writing, which is impossible on the laptop, so I switched to her to her tablet and the shit is all small. Am I just not navigating it properly?

The girls did sneak off with an entire can of Pringles the other day. It was supposed to be one of their treat quarantine items and they finished it in an afternoon.

The other day A came walking out with a whole bag of chips. Our pantry has child locks on it because he will go in and dump everything out. It was still locked so unsure where he was hiding the chips!

nam2013 Cadence wanted sprinkles on her toast yesterday and mh said sprinkles don't go on toast. I told him it's the Dutch way and it's allowed. She had sprinkles.

Am I just not navigating it properly? I agree. And I find it challenging to write when it’s something toward the bottom of the page where the pens and a racers are located. It is mostly math assignments that we have to write on Seesaw, but two things that have helped: -A stylus on the iPad (and I think it does a better job of simulating holding a pen or a pencil -Printing out the page and having them use a writing utensil and then just uploading it as a photo (this has been rare for us – mainly for some of the work the specials teachers have sent home)

We did this a couple of months ago, and I always forget about it as a breakfast option. Peanut butter and chocolate sprinkle sounds lovely. Maybe I’ll try that for breakfast for them tomorrow.

Am I just not navigating it properly? Hmm. All our writing, they want the kids to do 'the old fashioned way', so Bradley does it in his composition notebook and then I take a photo and upload it. Is that an option?

Not doing Seesaw yet.
We’re on Spring Break this week so I have a few days to get my shit together and figure out how to navigate the distance learning.
We previously had a packet with a handful of activities for each day.
Now we are supposed to be doing some online lessons. I still have not let him do any screens other than a TV but feel my stance on that probably needs to change now. I’m still thinking about it.
For now I have him playing sight word games and doing math lessons in his workbook.🤷♀️
Our big activity for the day is making a coffee cake. He’s watching more TV than I want but it’s pretty much videos from Kid’s Learning Tube about the solar system or geography so it’s not concerning me too much.

X and P are in rare form lately. I can’t believe people actually have a 19 month age gap on purpose. These toddlers are killing me.
