Agreed, and I’m not doing it if that’s what they start to expect. There is absolutely no way to accomplish that while working full-time and supervising two other small children. I’m getting pretty fed up with the constant barrage of updates and people insisting it can all be done, they do it all the time. No, they don’t. I’m expected to be a kindergarten teacher, special ed preschool teacher, preschool teacher, speech therapist, OT, and PT, plus maintain my regular productivity at work, plus continue mothering and cooking and cleaning all at the same damn time. I have to keep everyone from losing their mind when they have very little access to things necessary for their well-being. We have no yard, and Dog forbid you run out of any groceries, you’re going to spend way more time and energy each week shopping for what you need. It’s almost as if it’s entirely dependent on the ages, temperament, abilities, stages of development, and life circumstances and they might be different for every family. There aren’t enough hours in the day, I don’t have enough hands, arms, legs, and laps. The stress is literally eating my brain. I’m prioritizing our very tenuous relationship with our mental health right now. ETA: that was in no way directed at you, trtlcrzy. I’m thinking of some of the moms that insist this is the same as SAH and homeschooling. It’s not anything at all like that. My friend is a stay at home mom and home schools. Their world has also been rocked. They spend about 2 hours doing "table work" normally and the rest is hands on learning. Poor, museums, parks, nature, and all of that was shut down. She has said that comparing this to home schooling isnt a fair comparison as this is much much harder. Exactly. If we were homeschooling it would be trips yo the arboretum, the observatory, museums, nature centers, etc.

I am jealous of you three assignments a week people. We have 3+ a day. Same. I'm killing myself over here with assignments and making sure she logs in for X time a day on imagine math & X time on imagine literacy and completes her science, social studies, math, writing every day. It fucking sucks.

Wow my school seems somewhere in the middle, which I am happy about. They have assigned daily:
30 minutes reading 30 minutes writing 30 minutes math 25 minutes special (alternated daily gym, music, etc) 45 minutes 2 x per week science or social studies
Then they have a meetup for 30 minutes to see each other etc
They have video assignments and worksheets and some throngs to watch/do online- it seems to be a pretty good mix. Mostly we take pics of stuff and send it in. Sometimes it’s just write ‘complete’. there are some extra ideas/suggestions if we want but No pressure. She said the extras are bc some parents complained there wasn’t enough work.

I am jealous of you three assignments a week people. We have 3+ a day. Same here 1 language arts, 1 math, 1 science, 1 art, and 1 sight words per day for the most part. Plus religion video.

I don't know how you all are doing it. I forgot about Evie's once a week phone call with her teacher yesterday. The phone rang and I stared at it...like, I don't know this number, I might not answer, but it's local, so WTH. Glad I did.
I'm thinking about work, making sure I get my job done so I can continue to stay employed, not her school work, which is very minimal here.
