Apparently my boss is going to do a teleconference with us later today, so I don't have to go to the office. Which is good and bad. Good that I don't have to bother my MIL to watch the kids. Bad because a break from them would have been nice. lol.

I only know you're right because A was gone when I woke up. I had a migraine all day yesterday. I woke up at 4 am and it was gone. Happy to not have another day like yesterday.
A got our swing set moved from one side of the yard to the other yesterday. It was sitting in mud so I never let the boys play on it. Now it's in a spot in the yard that doesn't hold water. MJ loves to swing and slide so she's excited too.

Morning. Did a grocery run this morning & then the kids drew pictures for their friends and teachers. The weather is lovely so we played postman & delivered the drawings all over town. I got little lindt chocolate bunnies to hand out to their friends, who all loved it. I wasn’t feeling to well myself (nothing major, just dog tired) so I put the kids in front of the tv for half an hour & out my feet up for a bit.

Morning!
No ‘school’ today...for the month of April we go to 4-day weeks, so teachers can use Mondays to plan/do trainings I guess.
I need to figure out our menu for Easter. We were supposed to head to FL but obviously that’s not happening :/ I checked the weather for the week and it’s going to be chilly and rainy here on Easter Sunday. 😩 7 weeks...

flamingo how are the kids feeling about the move? Must be weird now to say goodbye to school/friends etc. In some ways I think the current situation will make it easier(?) In that they’re already separated from friends and their schools. They are very excited to be back near my parents and sister. We’ve really talked up the new house/neighborhood, etc. But it’s strange knowing we won’t really get to say goodbye to anyone. What’s the expression, ‘Irish goodbye’?, when you leave a bar or party without saying goodnight? I feel like that’s what we’re doing here, lol. Kind of anticlimactic.

Morning from “work”. I hope work tells us what’s going on with our jobs today. I don’t like being in limbo. L still has school Monday through Thursday then he’s on spring break. I’m going to have him do a workbook I bought everyday just so he keeps up with his writing.
For Easter we got a honeybaked ham on order, corn, salad, sweet rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy, and carrots.
L and I will also make cupcakes for it as well.

Morning! Working from the kitchen table. This is to much together time...I'm not sure how much I can handle it without making some kind of change in this house. I signed E up for school lunches, so it's something to get us out of the house daily.
Easter...H's mom wants to get together with just us. She told him yesterday that her sister is having her immediate family over Sunday, which will be like 15 people. He told her they shouldn't be doing that, but then she still invited us over or said she'd come to us. We aren't religious people...I don't understand the big deal. Just move along. It annoyed me.

Good morning. Last night DH set up a camping tent and movie screen and we watched Sonic the Hedgehog. Today is the start of spring break. It has been 3 weeks since I have been anywhere but home and on walks around my neighborhood. Just finished working out and then will probably spend most of the day in the yard. It’s a nice day today but may rain most of the rest of the week. My goals are to finish the class I’m taking and learn the new curriculum I will be teaching starting next week. Also, if I have the right ingredients at home, I want to try to make a cheesecake. Anyone have a good recipe?

Hi from my office/construction zone. Colin's school sent a video with pictures of all the staff holding up messages for the kids, so I've had my ugly cry for the day. They haven't officially closed schools for the year but we assume it's coming, and I'm just so sad for everything the kids are missing out on.
Col is still holding out hope for a baseball season, it's heartbreaking. I'm also worried about him regressing emotionally after making progress this year. And Chase and his behavioral issues... All this knowing how incredibly fortunate we are to have healthy, able-bodied kids, steady jobs, and help so we can work. I realize it could be so much worse, I just feel sad for them today.

Morning! Gorgeous day here! It's L's 4th birthday and MH took the day off. We have already been out skating (kids both got roller skates yesterday). MH and L are decorating a cake and L requested spaghetti and pickles for dinner 😂. I currently have a mimosa. So, great day and nice break from all the shitty stuff!

For any holidays to have to skip, I'm glad it's this one. My greedy cousins never contribute to the meal or candy/toys but expect a big egg hung and meal. So I always do it because kids shouldn't be punished for who their parents are. I'm excited for a nice Easter, just the 5 of us. As long as I can find a ham..

Happy birthday to L wineallthetime! joelies it's ok to feel bad about our current situation even if you have it "good." It's ok to mourn the losses for you and your family. Let it out. I'm here. Text emoji hugs kind of creep me out otherwise I'd put one here.

We always go to my mom's for Easter. I need to figure out the ham situation. I just want a small one. It'll make MH happy and thankfully I don't have to touch and can just throw it in the oven.
We always have a small Easter egg hunt as soon as they wake up with eggs hidden throughout the living from the Easter bunny. Then in the afternoon all the kids have an egg hunt outside. Our yard is too small to have it be fun here. I think I'll put eggs on our nearby trail and hope other families don't have the same idea.

flamingo did you see that DoD is requiring masks now when on military installations and you can't be 6 feet apart? I think they're mandatory in the PX and commissary.

The past few years we have had L's bday party the day before Easter and then a low key Easter day. We go to my in-laws for Orthodox Easter. This year I guess we will just do baskets and an egg hunt (just us, obviously). Not sure if I'll cook something special for dinner or not...

I'm making my favorites since I dont have to cater to everyone else lol. Ham, scalloped potatoes, corn and brussel sprouts. And some kind of dessert.

Text emoji hugs kind of creep me out otherwise I'd put one here. I was about to say the exact same thing. These were thing we appreciated and looked forward to, things that were/are important for families. Once I was worried about ds & his weight, I broke down a little ifo a coworker who has a son with CF. I apologised and said that I felt bad telling her, because it was nothing compared to what she was going through every day. She told me grief or worry should never be compared, you as much right to it as any other person because it matters to You. It stuck with me. Big hugs.

We usually do a brunch for Easter and invite anyone local(ish). Clearly that's not happening so we'll do an egg hunt for the boys and try to make it special for them. DH and his sister don't think my ILs are taking this seriously still and DH thinks they will flip when we all refuse to get together for his Mom's birthday in a couple weeks. I have a bit more faith in them - at the very least, they should understand by now that WE are taking this seriously.
This reminds me that I need to ask DH to pick up starburst jelly beans the next time he's at the grocery store. Just because I'm stuck at home doesn't mean I can survive Easter without my favorite!!

I just Easterfied my house, branches are up, Dh made a wooden garland with the kids, I decorated our light string in the kitchen, hung up a very cute wooden easter wrath & there are flowers everywhere. All that with out being religious 😂.

You all are very chatty this morning. flamingo, I love that things went to a four-day week. That makes sense for everyone. Although, and I suppose this is a bit of a confession, I did find the last two weeks of weekdays easier than the weekends because we have “school.” It gives us just another thing to do, and the kids like it so it doesn’t feel onerous. Yesterday, I asked Josie if she wanted to do the scholastic reading and writing about ladybugs and they happily watched the videos, read, and did the writing. As for Easter, I placed an Insta cart order to be here on Thursday. I put a bunch of extra choices in my cart in case something is not available, but the plan is a big brunch mid day— fruit, poached salmon, cheese plate, spinach salad and bagels, bacon and poached eggs. I hope the order can deliver because I’m very much looking forward to that meal. I forgot to get small candies to put in the Easter eggs for the hunt. I’m going to try to order something on Amazon now in the hopes that it will be here. Today there is a drive through town parade. The teachers and the administrators have decorated their cars and will be driving through everyone’s streets. They’re due here in about an hour and a half so we’re excited to go to the yard and wave to them.

I completely forgot it was spring break here too. But I think we'll still have a couple school days. They fight less when they have some structure and more activities to do. Maybe just a Scholastic lesson today.
