Happy birthday mwhip! The Rock stopped by to honor you. Paul didn't want to miss out on the fun and left you a message. Chris Hemsworth was on his way over when he got caught in a downpour. Michael will be over as soon as he finishes his workout.

Wondering what the new normal will look like over here too. I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself with that. I watched Outbreak the other day. I hadn't seen it in years. I laughed so hard because all they had to do was find the host and then they whipped up the antibodies immediately and had enough doses for a whole town and it worked within an hour. So unrealistic. I actually think cloth masks are going to be on trend. Not joking. I think a bunch of manufacturers will start making them. Disney will have their kids line with Frozen and super hero prints. Designer brands will have fancy ones and everything in between. Like joelies I'd really like to see some positives come out of all of this in the long run but I'm skeptical. I'm not a germaphobe, but some of the measures to prevent transmission of germs have been a good change I think. And I would love it if more workplaces embraced WFH for those who want it. It certainly has helped the environment and drastically reduced traffic. Time will tell.

We’re having a video conference this afternoon with X’s speech therapist. I cried yesterday. A lot.
This is hard enough but trying to work in therapies that they normally do at school was enough to send me into despair, honestly. And I worry so much about him regressing whenever he is going to have several months of no services.
Tim is here, for an undetermined length of time. He refused to go back after they were making co-workers report for duty when they were known positives. So he took a LOA and decided to come here and help me with the kids, do my grocery shopping so I’m not exposed, etc.
Pete threw a fit. I get that he won’t want to hang around when Tim is here, but he acted like he was afraid Tim would get him sick (even though he self-quarantined got three weeks before coming out). Not me or the kids, no concern there. He cancelled his Thursday night visitation this week and said he’s not sure he’s going to see them next weekend either.

At work. I hope I don't have to physically come in tomorrow, but imagine I probably will. In my boss' own words this whole thing is a "shitshow" and has changed multiple times in a short period of time, but she's managing it as well as she can. It is nice to see some of my coworkers though.
If I have some downtime I'm going to try to complete a Jeopardy style quiz for the girls for what we've gone over the in the past few weeks. They love game shows (we watch an embarrassing amount of Family Feud and America Says) so they'd get a kick out of it.

cagoldi I'm really glad you have support and help from Tim. I hope that makes it a little more manageable. I'm sorry things have been rough. X is lucky to have such a loving and devoted mom. Will Tim be okay financially with a LOA? I'm sorry Pete is being a dick. Holding back on visiting the kids is beyond effed up.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! nam2013 that gif is exactly me today. It's hard to get excited about things right now. wineallthetime sorry about your school cancelling. cagoldi glad you have some help and sorry Pete is being a dumbass. It's okay to break down and mourn the normalcy/routine you had. I think there will be a new 'normal.' Whatever that may be...

I know he’s just doing it to hurt me and the kids even though he would never admit it. Tim will likely have to look for a new job while he is here, but he can take the LOA from the post office for up to a year with no repercussions, so that’s what he chose to do. Maybe he’ll go back, maybe he won’t.🤷♀️

cagoldi ugh, what's with dads being dicks? My friend said she had to offer to pay her ex just to take their 6 year old daughter. They also have a 12 year old son who was apparently not coping well with the 6 year old being there constantly. He refused.

cagoldi, might Tim...just stay in SoCal permanently? Pete playing games with you and the kids is very fucked up. You absolutely have the right to be pissed. I really thought despite his issues, he'd be better than that. I know it sounds weird, but I'm disappointed and dismayed in him and I don't even know him. Like that's deadbeat dad material right there, dude. Put your big fat feelings aside and be better than that for your children. I hope he has an aha moment and pulls his head out of his ass soon.

So I've realized part of my nightly headaches come from clenching my jaw throughout the day (stress-related). When I was 19 I had to have jaw surgery because my jaw locked down and wouldn't open for 6 months. I'm trying to tell myself to get my shit together, because man, this is supposed to be my area of expertise.

Moving inspection went well. Gave us a reason to get the house clean, anyway—they open cabinets, closets, etc. I even got dressed and put on makeup for the occasion 😏
Still no TP at the grocery store but I got just about everything else on my list, plus some Easter candy. I placed a WalMart order for some items last night for baskets and need to look at Target next.

Re: returning to ‘normal’, I think it will be a slow process and things will come back ‘online’ in phases. We’ll probably be able to do our day-to-day errands, etc before say, attending a huge sporting event or concert. They’re talking about potentially letting the MLB season start but playing without fans, so at least games could be televised.
This reminds me of 9-11 in a lot of ways and eventually we did get back to ‘normal’ but with changes...some good, some sad but necessary. I think this will be the same way. I do really worry about the economic fallout. I hope we can bounce back quickly and not see a lingering recession like what we saw after the crash in 08.

He wants to stay permanently, yes. He might have to go back at some point soon just to retrieve his truck and his cat (cat is currently being watched by his dad). IDK. Tim is not trying to replace Pete but he’s willing to be a dad to them if that’s what the situation requires.

I'm so sorry he's being such an assignment cagoldi. Unfortunately my best friend's STBXH acts similarly in that he's willing to screw over the kids just to hurt her. It's so messed up and I can't understand being so selfish. I hate that you have to deal with this bs on top of everything else.

I’m sure he thinks it’s me hurting the kids by having Tim here, but as far as they’re concerned it’s another grown up they love and who loves them. Yesterday they built a fort, they went on a walk today while I was in meetings. So he’s really doing his best to try to keep them feeling like they have an adult who is giving them attention while I need to work.🤷♀️ I sent a message asking him to please put aside his personal feelings and reconsider. The kids love you and will be hurt and sad if too much time passes without getting to visit. No response yet.

DH’s grandma was brought to the hospital by the nursing home after she fell this morning. They did some xrays and so far they know she broke 4 ribs, one of which punctured her lung. I don’t think they have results of her pelvic X-ray/CT yet. She’s 94/5 (can’t remember for sure) so the chances of her recovering from this is slim. I feel so bad for her because she hasn’t been able to have visitors at the nursing home for almost a month and now being hospitalized she won’t be able to have any visitors either until she’s end of life. Luckily FIL was able to be with her in the ER.

If you want something to laugh at, one of the questions on Family Feud last night was "when grandpa when on a date, he forgot his____." One of the answers on the board was "condom." Madison is very inquisitive and with her innocent eyes looked right into mine and asked what a condom is. Usually I answer sex/body questions honestly in a straight-forward manner, but I didn't have the mental wherewithal to deal with it at the time. I made up some BS reply and distracted her.

Oh dear Lord. He called me and said that he still owns the house and he gets to decide who comes and goes. Then made vague threats about taking the kids and the house.
Okay Dude.
