I'm pretty sure I'm the only adult in my neighborhood who isn't vaccinated (ok not the ONLY one, but I'm in the minority). Everyone here is either over 65, a teacher or a Healthcare worker and most everyone has been vaccinated since January. It still benefits me to be surrounded by all these vaccinated people but I want to be in the vaccinated club too!! Give me the poke, I'm ready. I'm having serious vaccination FOMO. Most every adult in my family has gotten a shot except for my one brother and T and I. I mean, I know we're lucky that we're healthy, but also SO ready to get the shot.

Oh damn stringy. That is definitely way too close to home. It is, and I know the family well and they have been cautious the whole time. She kept her kids home for two weeks before xmas so they could visit grandparents, and after they got back got them tested. Her hubs was supposed to get vaccinated as a teacher on sunday but got sick instead. So damn close.
We are wavering and may have P tested anyway out of caution. What if she's asymptomatic and such. Blah.
Do they know where it came from? Being "so damn close" to vaccination is my fear. Mine is scheduled for 3 weeks from today. I have friends in the same group as me and they are scheduled for early next week. I'm mildly annoyed by it because our state opens up each pool at 8 am, which is also when I'm sitting in the school drop off line. But whatever. I'm just glad to have a date with a shot. For testing P, if you do, do the right timing. Test her 7 days from her last exposure with the friend to make sure that you're not testing her too early.

L is complaining of a sore throat this evening 😭
It's been over a year since we've been sick so it had to happen, but I hate parenting while sick and I don't want the baby to get it, whatever it is. We'll see how he feels in the morning 🤞

From what I know about billing, they try to avoid most phone calls for things like this because it's not as easy to "prove" the provider is doing all the clinical things they are required to do.

Interesting. This particular setup is a teledoc service through our insurance, and S confirmed it's free. He's already talked to someone a couple times, I liked that they still allowed you to read people's bios and choose who you wanted to talk with.

Yea, the dad is a teacher and his school had a breakout (special needs high school). But he didn't know it was happening until too late.
Got P tested yesterday, day 6. Already got results that she's negative. Which doesn't surprise me since of the timeline of when dad got it to kid to school...
So now to entertain her for the next 10 days....her school is amazing and sent home activity packets for each kid - with loose parts and prompts and a whole packet of activity ideas and a popsicle stick picture puppet of each kid in the class. I was not expecting that.

I took L for a covid test this morning. It's the first one any of us have had and he was taken aback by how forceful the swabbing was lol. They wouldn't do me because I was asymptomatic but this afternoon I can just tell I'm getting it, my head feels tired and I have a post nasal drip.

I'm so frustrated with so many people.
MIL's husband, who has cancer, is now in the hospital with covid. MIL told me some time ago that he was eligible for the vaccine...but he never bothered to get it. She's awaiting her results but probably also has it.
FIL says he won't get the vaccine because he's "not putting that crap in his body". The guy smokes an insane number of cigarettes each day. So very wut?? My H thinks he can talk him into it, though, so I'm hopeful.
Then there's my parents who had covid in December and are totally willing to get the vaccine but haven't scheduled them yet even though they became eligible last Thursday. My mom is blaming it on my C-section not being scheduled yet since she's watching the kids while we're at the hospital. I'm 35 weeks and my CS is ordered for sometime the week of 37 weeks, they just haven't given me a date yet. Do some math woman, even if you get a same-day first dose (which LOL), dose 2 will not be for another 3 weeks minimum. Why is this so hard??

So sorry you’re dealing with this so close to your due date pbandj714. My parents are scheduled for their 2nd shots this week. My in-laws haven’t gotten 1 yet and if it weren’t for us pushing them, I think they would just keeping putting it off. MIL is insisting on the one shot j&j vaccine. So here we are, hunting for a very specific one when I could get them Pfizer appointments later this week. 🤦🏻♀️

We told my mom we wouldn’t visit until they got vaccinated.
They got their first shot 2 weeks ago.
Evidently grandkids are a great motivator. But also the way they take appointments is a pain.

Ugh pbandj714 that's all very wtf. I can't comprehend these thought processes. I haven't even asked my own parents what their plans are but I know they aren't actively trying to get it either.

I know. Makes me want to scream. J said SIL told him that she won't be getting it (she's a teacher) because "she'd like to have kids one day".

Mh and I are registered for the J&J vaccine tomorrow. I am so anxious and nervous and panicked that I am literally nauseous and shaking. And it’s more than 24 hours away. How much Xanax can I take before hand? Can I be almost passed out? Or will they send me home? Send me all your strength people. All. Your. Strength.

I've had a rough week and am going to deal with it with alcohol tonight. I had been doing good not using alcohol as a crutch but tonight I'm giving in. In a nutshell, we had a death in the family this week which was devastating enough on its own but they're having an outdoor memorial this weekend and I want to be there so badly but it's a 9 hr drive and just not feasible. I miss my family and want to grieve with them in person, with hugging and crying and no masks. I'm upset, I'm lonely (lonely in this specific instance that there's no one here to truly share in my grief although my husband is being so sweet), and I'm gutted that this is happening at all.
Thank you for reading my word vomit.

Take care of yourself.
