My coworker’s daughter had a birthday the other day. She probably 5-6. He arranged for her friend’s parent’s to drive by with Happy Birthday posters taped to their cars parade style, lead by a police car. It was adorable.

I wanted M to come with me to pick up his packet at school. I thought maybe just driving the familiar route and seeing his school would be a bright spot for him. He asked if he would see his teacher and I told him no and he said then he didn’t want to go. ☹️ They have not made a decision on the rest of the year, but I do think it will come to that. Our teacher is trying to set up a zoom meeting for the kids this Thursday, so I’m looking forward to him seeing his classmates.

I have also been thinking about summer camps. The full day one I was considering has early bird rates, but I don’t want to put a deposit on anything yet.

I am also trying to prepare myself for us having to cancel our beach trip in June. I know it’s months away, but at the rate we are going, I have no certainties about anything this summer.

Maybe send them an email and ask about potential refund based on the current happenings.

I was telling Cadence today that things will be a little different since she can't go to school right now, but that we have her school books and access to her online stuff.
She looked at me and said, "hey, I have an idea, how about you be the teacher and tell me what to do."
Ok! Now she can't get mad at me since it was her idea! 😉

lahdeedah I spoke with H's cousin, who owns the house we were staying at in Gulf Shores, this past weekend about the realization of having to cancel. She said she wouldn't cancel us yet, just in case. I'm sad about it...we had such a good time as a family, but I know vacations can be rescheduled and we will be fine. It just really sucks.

cagoldi I'm sorry you're still having a hard time breathing. I think yesterday the the first day I considered myself fully better. Finally stopped coughing and feeling exhausted at the slightest activity. I hope you feel better soon and your results come in quickly.

+whatever about school. The girls miss it, but are doing ok. Yesterday was a great day of at-home learning. They both accomplished a lot. If you guys haven't tried out the Scholastic lessons yet they are great. The girls had a ball with their first one.

kim22 thanks for the offer with help about Google classroom. I may need it. I was able to get Maddie set up successfully (she was thrilled she can write her teacher), but had some trouble with Cass. I'll try again tonight.

Oh man, I bet we aren't far behind flamingo . Our county emailed saying we aren't going back next week and they are working on what they will do, but I think waiting for the governor to make the call. I have no idea what this means for camps this summer, I may need to get a nanny. K's daycare is closed until 4/27 as of yesterday and reduced the rate by 25% in order for them to keep teachers. No word on N's school yet, or my work for that matter.

If anyone follows mommyshorts on IG, she most likely has it, and her symptoms are similar to mine. I kind of freaked out earlier but am feeling fine now. I made some soup in the instapot and just have a sore throat at the current moment. wedding , how's your tummy? Diarrhea definitely can be a symptom it seems.

It seems better today but I just realized I haven't eaten much so maybe I should test it a bit.
