It felt weird to put on green and shamrocks today. There are no celebrations and the world is so weird right now. But I did it anyway for some sense of normalcy.

When I woke E up, she gave me 2 thumbs up when I asked how she was feeling. She said she felt all better and was very thirsty. I took her to my moms with a big bottle of water, Propel, Diet 7up, chicken noodle soup and some cheerios. My mom sent me a text that she is throwing up again, the water that she has drank. She's going to tell her to take small sips, which I told her she would likely throw up.
I feel awful for her. I know how bad I felt this weekend. She's exhausted since it was after 11 when she finally fell asleep (after 12 for me by the time I figured she was done) and not home. I told my mom if it continues and she wants to be home, to let me know and I'll pack shit up and come get her.
H at least went back to work today. I have a feeling he will be told he isn't working for awhile. He at least has a lot of PTO he can use. But I do think this will effect our trip to Alabama.

Morning. The kids were disappointed the leprechaun didn’t come (which has never been a thing at our house) but some quick thinking magically turned their eggs and milk green and now they’re convinced it was the leprechaun 😂
H is already over being stuck at home and begging to go somewhere. This is going to be a long 2+ weeks.

OMG you guys...I can't with this place. I was just asked to look into getting a porta potty for the truck drivers who come in. I asked my warehouse manager how many people we are talking. We get ~5 drivers a day, maybe once a week someone asks to use the restroom. But I'm getting a quote for a fucking porta potty for 3 months.
This is after spending $1400 on infrared thermometers to take peoples temperatures twice daily.
I feel like at some point, someone is going to question my insane spending and fire me.

Hello hello! Same old today. I have a million loads of laundry done and folded so those need to get put away before I go back to work tomorrow. I've been glued to my work email looking for updates and I need to step away today because it's just making me anxious.

Here is the extent of my st. Patrick's day. I did Cadence's nails in rainbow before she left and she took her st. Patrick's outfit with her. I miss her terribly. She called last night and they are staying busy, mostly playing in the giant fairy garden my mom has in her front yard. I'm glad she is having fun and it will give me some time to get the house cleaned up. Yesterday I cleaned out my car and filled a bag with my clothes for goodwill.

It's really irritating when only staff shows up to work. Like the attorneys were trying to make it out to be no big deal yesterday in the meeting, but then they all packed up and took off leaving us here. Not cool.

Your health isn't anymore important than anyone elses, so if staff has to be there, so should the management.

I dressed the kids in green t-shirts, and found glasses and headbands that I bought last year on ridiculous clearance. We’ve never done a leprechaun trap or the tricks he plays, but I will make green sheetcake pancakes and green eggs for dinner.

Our executive leadership has been sending g out updates like “your health and safety” are top priority as everyone is flooding HR with calls asking about WAH. But you know the senior executives are sending these memos from the comfort of their own home. Pete’s office has someone in quarantine for exposure and they still haven’t shut down. I’d be on the phone with OSHA so goddamn fast if I were in that building.

Add me to the annoyed about no WFH. I could easily do 90% of my job from home and the other 10% isn't essential and could wait, or just come in 1 day a week to limit exposure. It's ridiculous. But without federal guidelines it's not going to happen. That's why it'd be nice to have a president at a time like this and not an orange demented dumbass who tweets about Hillary's emails when we are in the midst of a health crisis. Interesting article from WAPO about governors being very frustrated with lack of national guidance.

Good morning. Managed to handle my work stuff, get T’s math done, do some laundry, and now just finished working out. I need a shower but I have C in the basement with me and he’s behaving and DH is on a call in the dining room so we are stuck. I’m hoping to get the rest of T’s work done and some of my college coursework during nap. Also need to check in with DS1. He claims to have completed everything, including a 5 paragraph essay in like 20 minutes. I think DD is teaching her class from her bedroom 😂 She was reading Holes out loud on FaceTime to a group of kids.

Our DX is still open and it sounds like they plan to remain that way.
I’m torn because I know they could easily bring something home to me, but at the same time if they’re able to continue to have their normal routine and get their outside play time I think that’s best for them.
If I could take time off it would be a no-brainer not to send him, but Pete and I still need to work.

I’m considering requesting FMLA/Paid Family leave though, since I think I should qualify on grounds of caring for X even though he’s not sick, he is disabled.
Just not thrilled about what that means with the repercussions to my job. Obviously, I can’t be penalized overtly but we all know if I take my fifth FMLA in six years to birth or care for children, they aren’t thrilled about it.

Hi. The only thing I want to get done today is painting. I have two small projects I had planned and even though I have a lot of other things I could and should do, I think to get one of those projects done will be better for me mentally than, say, purging and organizing the garage which requires a lot of thought and decision.
I think I will do the doors on the patio because it won’t take too much time.

That's tough cagoldi. Is there anyway PT would be a possibility with your job? Job sharing? Just trying to think of ideas... So we had another group meeting about all this. *eye roll* Nothing gets accomplished, we talk in circles, about the same things. Like, no one should bring food in to share, do not eat anyone elses food. But, after today, because the company is buying donuts for everyone. The question was raised as to how many people could accomplish 70% of their job duties WFH. 4 of us in the group raised their hands, a majority of the group are production/warehouse. So yeah, not everyone can. Since only 4 of the 61 total employees we have can WFH, there is no reason to discuss it. Uh, really? You don't even want to start thinking of a plan?

Hi!
Kids are eating lunch; we did some schoolwork this morning.
B’s teacher has been great; this morning she uploaded a video of herself dressed for St Patrick’s day and reading a related story for the class to watch.
B: “is that Mrs. LastName’s house???” I think he was shocked to learn she doesn’t actually live at school lol.

If you guys haven't checked yet GD has a thread filled with free educational resources. I bookmarked a ton of sites last night and the girls were so excited. Teach Your Monster to Read is free on a computer (you can pay for the app).
Scholastic has full lessons.
There was a fun rainbow experiment posted today. When I get home from work I'm going to do it with the girls.

inthekitty I hold back some activities and toys, too. Usually for rainy days, but now for pandemic reasons, I guess. We still have our laser tag set and giant piano mat untouched from Christmas, so I’m going to open those up when things start looking desperate. For now, they’re keeping busy with crafts, an Easter egg bath (best $1.97 I ever spent), and sensory bins. Dude is doing one “life skill” lesson each day. Yesterday was laundry, today he’ll learn how to boil noodles. Simple stuff but he seems excited about it. The school packers with assignments will be ready for pick-up later today.

Well shit.
You know how Tim is a mailman, right?
He was telling me last week there were three people in his office who think they had coronavirus but couldn’t get tested.
Just got a confirmed positive for one of them. But while they were waiting they were out there, delivering mail.

I’m holding back some activities too, for now they seam more than content with their usual stuff & the home school. I got some new books, flower pots to decorate, new paint, baking supplies & a micro veggie garden laying around for when times get desperate. No word from school yet, I guess since it’s kinder they don’t expect much?

Morning.
I received an email late yesterday afternoon with B's school plan. They have set up times to have us come in and pick up all personal items, they are working as if the students are not returning this school year. The teachers are still working, at this time, and will send lesson plans starting March 30th which is after Spring Break. By the time we leave today we'll have been home for 92 hours....#rulefollower
I'm calling my work service desk right, which is my fresh hell, now and hopefully will have full access by the end of day. If I go into the office I've created a staggered work plan but I'm not sure who will watch the kids. My Mom is all 'oh I can come there' and in the next sentence says 'I went to the bank, the grocery store, did a delivery, back to the bank....' clearly she is failing at this.
