Our schools are closed for two weeks at least, so j is out. The girls are still open in the city, but I'm pulling them out and I'll attempt to work from home😂. My director came over and said he thinks I should pull them regardless of schools since social distancing is effective and that is more important than work right now. Or he doesn't want me coming in and potentially exposing the core people not teleworking to 3 different schools worth of germs.
Mh is still at the backup location and not teleworking yet. Given his field and the market situation, it'd be hard to keep up on a laptop, so I'll try to hold down the fort for the time being.
Oh and j lost his first tooth today! Hoping that means he will keep his hands out of his mouth...

And now Maddie's sick. Poor girl. 🙁 I cant go back to work until my sxs have 100% resolved. So I'll see how I feel Monday. 😔😔 Hope it is mild like they claim it is🤞🤞 |

tallb Any chance you’re MIL can come to help out? She has offered to come but we don't feel comfortable asking her to come since she's older and therefore high risk. We will get by, but I'd really hate myself if we exposed someone in a high risk group. |

Last night the state dept of education stated that it wasn’t appropriate for schools to close. Today we get an email saying the governor wants all schools to have a distance learning plan by Thursday and they need to assess our ability to do that. I don’t know what I’ll do with C all day if he’s out of school.
My work (federal court) has closed until at least April 30th and we are teleworking. I’m not sure how I would parent and work at the same time. We only have five cases so maybe it will buy us more time with the schools open.

I just tried to mention to Mh that he should take the kids to see the ILs this weekend. Better visit them while we can, right? Really don’t think we are exposed as of yet and I realized that any days off I take during the weeks coming up will be spent with Mh home. 😭
Just had to get that out and now I will return to worrying about the real problems of the world.
My ILs were supposed to come visit this weekend, but MIL canceled Tuesday because she had a few social events this weekend - like a debutante ball and birthday parties. LOLOLOL. Sorry MIL, but you are over 60 and shouldn’t be at large gatherings. I hope these events are actually canceled now because if not, she will probably still go. 🙄

Schools were closing Monday for staff training on distance learning. They just bumped it up to tomorrow. Most neighboring towns are closing until at least April 13. I’m worried about the 90% of my kids who get free breakfast and lunch. If this isn’t one of the saddest statements about the state of the country, I don’t know what is. Our district is working on something to help with this while we're off. No idea what yet. But agreed, its horrific that it's a concern. |

In my opinion the government is doing everything they can, whilst trying to make sure day to day living stays normal for as long as can be & we stay calm. Our social system is great, funds have been set up for small businesses who are losing income, healthcare is very well organised & most of us do not have to worry about salary/job security. I realise reading all your stories how lucky we are with this system. I’m trying to have fate in the fact the they won’t handle things randomly and that there are tons of experts looking at the situation. But apparently the most of the Dutch are starting to lose their cool and are turning into a populations who is all of a sudden made up out off virologists/disease experts and are stating that everything is handled wrong. Time will tell I guess?

Yeah Trump’s plan to help small businesses is to offer loans at a low interest rate. It’s comical because the businesses can’t make up this time and revenue so really he is offering them to be in debt with the government and accrue interest they can’t pay. |
