Hi from bed! Breakfast was amazing thanks cagoldi. C was jealous so I shared some. He’s currently boxing up the clothes I’m sending to threadup and a toy E got for Christmas that didn’t work. We are returning it and my sister is sending something else. I’m hoping something not as big. It was one of those roaring simbas. Cool toy idea if it had ever worked for us. |

nam2013 I don’t have WhatsApp so that won’t work. I did try typing the number in Facebook earlier with no luck. I plan to see if DH has the number in his phone when he gets home later. Otherwise it will forever be a mystery. Also, on a completely unrelated note, I was listening to an old episode of my favorite murder today and one of them did the story of the Dutch teenage resistance fighters from ww2. Those girls were bad ass.

I actually don't mind no school days because the girls entertain each other for hours at this age. They disappear in the family room and sometimes I only see them when they try to sneak food from the pantry.

Yeah, I try not to be bitter about all the time MH gets to himself. He truly has no idea. Some day I'll laugh when he's overwhelmed with work and no time to himself. |

L has no school this Friday so he gets a 4 day weekend. C asked if I was taking Friday off. Nope, we are getting a nanny. We didn’t use all my backup care days last year and I want to save my vacation days for an actual vacation.

Once H is older and I'm not needed by him every second. However, I still stand by my dissatisfaction with MH having a free day to himself. Oh I get it. My kids are getting to that sweet age where it's like when we reminisce about our childhood in the 80s with no adults anywhere in our memories. Oh I'm there off in the distance, but watching a Lifetime movie and knitting while you engage in tomfoolery. Cass was a Grade A full-on cling-on for a long time and I couldn't be out of her sight. |

I can’t fall back asleep and I have a school presentation do that I didn’t begin yet because I wanted to see what others were doing. I wish I would have just done it because I have to record my voice and it clearly sounds like I’m sick.

A lot of schools have a mid-winter break thing at this time (some have all of President's Day week off). My girls have that Mon and Tue off, but the Tuesday is also built in as a bad weather day so if they have too much school cancelled prior to that, they lose that day off to make up for it. Unrelated, I was a total nerd and really loved making my Valentine's Day mailbox every year for school. I could decorate a shoe box like no other. I'm sure when my teachers saw my use of glue, stickers, and neon paper they knew I was going somewhere someday. |

Looks like H’s next day off from school is 2/17-18 for Presidents’ Day break. I think conferences is the week before that, but I can’t remember for sure.

Josie has a 4.5 day weekend starting this Friday.
The week before Presidents’ Day she has three half days, then Monday and Tuesday off for Presidents’ Day.
Charlie has the same two days off, but MH is home all week!

I remember in 5th grade, we had to draw names and make the box for a classmate as a surprise. (Little control freak Flamingo was really bummed b/c of course #trustnoone). But the girl I made it for got a work of art...I'm sure my mom probably has a photo of it somewhere. |

So B has MLK day off, then the following Monday is a teacher planning/grade input day b/c it's the end of the semester. "Teacher planning day" is probably dating me, I think the correct term is "Faculty inservice"  Then he'll have Presidents' Day in Feb, and a random Tuesday the first week of March (can't recall what that one is for, maybe another TPD.) That's the week we're going to FL. He's doing great in school and has only missed 1 day all year, but I have so much guilt and anxiety over him missing the other 4 days that week, lol. Old habits die hard. |

I got my car inspection today. The place I went dh has gone to before a few times. I was able to walk in and get it done right away even though it was 4:45. I was just looking at their hours not expecting they would do it so close to closing. I was psyched to scratch it off my to do list.
The mechanic, probably in his late 60’s, points out a waiting area through a door in the back. I go back there and there’s a desk and a bunch of tattered red velvet upholstered dining room chairs. It’s dark and dingy aside from the huge tv playing PORN!! I was dying. Like what’s happening? Am I being raped or murdered? Will I be on 20/20? How do I bolt out of here without looking like a maniac?
I ended up walking out saying “be cool” in my head over and over. I told the mechanic I’d rather wait outside. He gave me a look like he couldn’t understand why. Luckily my car was done soon and nothing bad happened to me. Well except the mental images of leather and nakedness that will never leave my brain 😬
