Wednesday Randoms

Ugh I need to find a new pediatrician since we're moving. I don't even know where to start. Recs from the hospital/OB practice will all be for VA, but we live in MD.

My Wednesday turned around when I got home and found my Amazon Baby Welcome Box on the porch. It's full of neat little sample goodies and the cutest full size swaddle blanket (just like cythe said)! Yay for a positive today!

Finally catching up today. Regular day here.

My ob said that I have to fast for the 1 hour glucose test in a couple weeks. WTF. Oh well, it's at 8:30 and right across the street from a Chick-fil-a. I actually didn't mind the orange drink either.

I had fruit punch today. It wasn't bad.

I had the fruit punch for my 1hr with DD, but I guess here the flavor depends on what test you're doing. Apparently the 1hr is orange... I wonder if I can request it cold? The fruit punch one I took was cold and it made it easier to drink...

Today was DS's 2nd birthday! He started the day by sleeping in until 10am (it got to be a late night after fireworks yesterday), then he opened his birthday gift from us (a soft doll that he calls his "baby"). After breakfast we went for a walk to the playground, even though it was hot/humid AF today, he had a fun time. We made a short Aldi run before nap, then finished up his birthday cake after he woke up. Besides the ridiculous heat/humidity, and our car a/c still not working, it was a really great day!

Re GD test drink: With DS I had a lemon lime flavored drink, it tasted like flat Sprite with extra sweetener. They did give it to me cold, which helped a little, but I definitely choked that thing down. They said I had 10 min to drink it all, and it took me that entire time to do it.

Regarding the GD test drink - I had a surprise 1 hr glucose test today! No flavor to mine - just sickingly sweet and salty clear liquid that was so hard to get down. I hate hate the glucose test! 🤢

They should have a few different flavors. When I had my early screening she apologized that they only had the red one that day. It really wasn't bad. I can't remember if I had orange or lemon with ds. But if I had to do it again, red all the way!!

They kept it so cold it was hard to drink because it was cold. Not because it was gross. It is like fruit punch Gatorade.

They handed me a cold one, so I guess they keep some cold on hand. When I did Thee one hour and they gave me the drink to take home and drink on my way home, it was warm and they told me to put it in the fridge.
