I'm hanging out waiting for the doctor's office to open so I can start my glucose test. I'm starving and not looking forward to the yucky feeling I'm about to get with the sugary drink.
DD is at my dad's and I'll go visit after I'm done here.
We still have so much to do to get the house ready and I'm so tired. Like we do a bunch, then I look around amd see a thousand more things that need to be done.

Morning all. I'm feeling off this morning. I overdid it yesterday and I was definitely feeling it last night and I still am this morning. If I had more sick time, I would have called in today but I'm saving up all I can for maternity leave. On top of that, I saw the slightest twinge of pink when I wiped this morning, and I have a painful/tight spot on my belly this morning. No idea if any of this is related, but needless to say I am keeping an eye on things. I do still feel baby moving which gives me reassurance. Glad my glucose test and follow-up are tomorrow so I can bring up any concerns. mkrupar, Good luck with your glucose test. I have mine tomorrow morning and I'm not looking forward to it to say the least.

Oh good goddamn. It's quarter after and the office door is locked. I just called and the answering service picked up telling me the office doesn't open until 9am. WTF did the person I spoke with tell me to come at 8am??
I'm going to demand to speak with the office manager. This is some fucking bullshit.
Sorry for the language, but I'm so frustrated right now im standing in the hallway crying.

This sucks for any appointment but *especially* your glucose appointment where you are already hungry and dreading it. I'm so sorry.

I'm starving and just finished the drink. The opened the door at 8:30. Tjey had an appointment opening at 2:40 this afternoon, so I took it. I won't have to come back next week for the OB appointment. I still want to speak with the office manager though, because this is crazy. thatgirlrachel is your test tomorrow the 1 hour?

mkrupar Oh no! That really sucks - this place needs to get their act together. That is not cool at all. thatgirlrachel Sorry you are not feeling good I hope things improve - try to put your feet up and drink a lot of water. Glad you are keeping a close eye on it. Sorry the day is starting off crappy for the O17 moms . Normal day over here. I went to the dentist for a cleaning - no cavities! Other than that, just catching up on work from taking yesterday off. The 4th isn't a holiday here, so I had more emails than usual to wade through. Hope this day gets better for everyone!

Glad you didn't have to wait until 9 in the end, but that still stinks. Related question: do other people's OBs have them fast before the glucose test? I've had 2 of the 1hr, one in 1st tri and one last week, and the only instruction was nothing by mouth AFTER the drink. I definitely ate breakfast both days!

I did an early 1 hour and passed, but still have to do one at the normal time frame, and since odds are I would fail the 1 hour further along (happened last pregnancy), they opted to go straight to the 3 hour one.

Spoke with the office manager and she's going to squeeze me in after my test. They had a 2:40pm appointment available, but she doesn't want me to have to wait that long since I've had so many troubles already.

1 hour = no fasting 3 hour = fasting Huh, well that is a special kind of torture. Even more TPs to the person who told you to get there at 8!

Well and I could have gone to a lab and had it done there, and they typically open between 6 and 7am. The only reason I planned to do it here was because of my appointment that was supposed to be today It just got all screwed up. It looks like they're trying to fix it.

I've been told by 2 people in 2 days that I shouldn't be lifting my 32lb toddler. I mean, I'm definitely leaning on MH for as much of the heavy lifting as possible, but sometimes it's unavoidable. Plus my OB never said anything, probably because her girls have the same age gap that mine will and she knew it would be a nonstarer.

seventythree, I have my 1 hr glucose test next appointment and asked about fasting. The midwife recommended to not eat anything particularly sugary 2 hours before the appointment, but otherwise no fasting required. Had a nice time yesterday! Went out to lunch with my parents, sister, and mom's parents to celebrate my grandmother's birthday and grandparents' anniversary. Stopped for a few moments on our way home to look at some SUVs but they were closed for the 4th so we couldn't see inside. Then went home and chilled with DH and DS for the afternoon. Back to work today so nothing exciting happening here.

I asked my doc about the glucose test (since I have a different OB this time) and she said I could have breakfast before it (as long as it's not pure sugar). I did with DD too... so thankful I don't have to fast before drinking pure sugar.
Taking DD to daycare today and then coming home to clean/pick up since H comes home in a few days. I woke up just before 5 and DD slept in her crib until 6:30 and woke up in a happy mood.

Back to work here as well. Nothing too crazy on the docket this (short) work week. My bday is on Friday, my husband took off for it thinking I would too, but I need to save up for maternity leave. Now I feel guilty haha. Im sure he'll enjoy his day off in peace and quiet anyway.
Question: What did/does Braxton hicks feel like for you guys? I never really understood last time around. Maybe I never had them? Does it feel like a side stitch you get after running? Intense belly pulling? I think I had some this morning. It was like really sore/painful in my upper belly area. May be concerning if it's not BH, may just be growing pains? PREGNANCY IS HARD!

I asked my midwife about it and she said they usually recommend not bending over to lift anything over 25 lbs, if possible. But she also mentioned that if DD is throwing a fit in the middle of Target, I'm not going to not pick her up - sometimes it's unavoidable. I look at it like others look at working out while pregnant...We have been doing it throughout our pregnancy, it's not like we just started lifting these 30 pound humans overnight. Our bodies are used to it and as long as we know our own limits and rely on SO/DH when we can, I think that's pretty good.

Re: fasting before the glucose test...My midwife said fasting is not necessary but to eat a good, light breakfast. She recommended eggs, a piece of toast, etc., and no coffee. I am already planning on getting a medium McCafe coffee after my appointment tomorrow to make up for my lack of caffeine in the early morning.

It's usually in my lower belly, but sometimes it's a tightening in my entire abdomen.

In the waiting room for a repeat anatomy scan. They didn't get heart pictures the first time, and my bladder was empty. So I chugged 2 bottles of water this time and now I'm trying not to pee myself until they call me back in 10 min.

He is getting heavy! And I can't hold him on the front of me. I have to hold him to the side. There just isn't enough room for him to be above the baby

I'm shopping for maternity rash guards. Lol
DD's swim lessons are outside, and now that I'm going in the pool with her, I need some coverage. I cannot put sunscreen on my back myself, so I figure this will help.

GL, sounds like a lot of us are getting our GD tests this week and the next too. SaveSave

DS should be returning soon from his am walk with grandma. Today is going to be super incredibly hot! Heat index of allmost 100! I feel bad for the landscapers. We've been putting a cooler outside with iced water for them everyday since they started. Don't need no one to pass out in my backyard working! Why is there always things that we uncover during construction that needs fixing??!!! Why???! Hubs uncovered some water damage yesterday whilst working on fixing the other issue which has taken him 5x longer than anticipated! so now he has to scramble afterwork to run to HW store to get supplies to remedy it so the landscapers can get to work uninterrupted. Oy! I feel so bad...if I wasn't laid up we could've gotten it done already together. I am so proud of him despite his cursing like a sailor ( used to it but hard to hear sometimes ) luckily all that happened whilst DS was napping lol! Speaking of GD test, I should be receiving a call today about my results which I will not be happy about is what my Dr prepared me for. Sigh!
