I’m staying home with H since daycare is closed. The big kids side is open though so M is there. I’ll pick her up early and take them both to my in laws’ house. We’re going to the rockets game tonight and the kids will go to a NYE party with them. I’m pretty excited to not be woken up in the MOTN. Lol.

Morning! Indeed how is it the last day of the year?! The weather is lovely so we went for a little walk, now we’re hanging out at the bungalow, swimming is on the agenda for this afternoon. We got champagne, nice apps & the oliebollen for tonight, hopefully the kids will sleep trough the fireworks & we can enjoy our night .

I'm at work. Hopefully, they let us go early, but I'm not holding my breath. My officemate decided to bring her 2 kids. 1 of them is 6 and yells everything. They have no inside voice. Maybe I really should hold my breath.
Tomorrow I take Cadence to my mom's until Saturday.

Morning!
DH has today off so we dropped my car off early for service at the dealership and took the kids out for donuts.
We just emailed a Disney travel agent re: planning our visit in March. I officially feel like a mom now 😜 (Hopefully) buying a house and Disney all in one week—goodbye monies, it’s been real. 💸💸💸

Morning, chicks.
We’re just hanging out right now watching news and drinking coffee. We’ve got a playdate this morning with some friends at an indoor playground. I’m hoping that J naps after so she can last until 9pm tonight when we head to the neighbours for a game night for NYE.
Then MH and I will take down the Christmas decorations while the kids are asleep and we wait for midnight. We’re such party animals.

Last day of the year and decade, crazy town. I feel like this was a crazy fast year. We don't have plans, mh is at work and I thought j wanted to go to aftercare, but then opted against and I wasn't mentally prepared for him to be here.
We went to my moms and got Thai takeout yesterday since my sis left today. I'm worn out from family visiting time and we are trying to figure out what we can do for spring break...flight prices are kind of bananas, so I guess we will have to drive somewhere.

The one we were interested in went under contract so we’ll just keep stalking the listings; hoping to find a winner when we go back in March and I will definitely share it!

Mallory slept in but woke up with both eyes matted shut from drainage. Poor chick. And lord does she hate having her face wiped, so holding warm towels on her went great.... just lounging around today. It's super windy and drizzling. Its miserable out. We're supposed to go to my brothers for new years tonight but if she is still miserable we may skip.

morning! I'm at work today and I need to be home by 2 to relieve the babysitter. I'm sure we will close early anyway so it shouldn't be an issue.
MH is home but all week he and S have been planning a daddy/S day and we didn't want to let him down since he always has to cancel stuff due to his brother being sick. So, another day with a babysitter it is.
As to NYE plans, I texted our friends to cancel and she texted back that she was about to reach out b/c she has a stomach bug. So we rescheduled "NYE" for Saturday night when hopefully everyone is healthy again. And since B is so much better today we will probably let the boys stay up late and maybe do a movie and sleeping bags in the living room and do something extra fun for the night.

Kids are all home today, and I am working.
Pete is taking them tonight so I can keep plans I made last March. A friend from AZ is coming to town and we’re going to dinner and a jazz concert/NYE party (his pick, not mine).
I have a hotel room in Seal Beach and I’m looking forward to starfishing in the giant bed. Sleeping in, then I think he’s picking me up for brunch and we talked about touring the Queen Mary. Should be fun!

Main boss is here and sick as a dog. He just spent half an hour in the bathroom and is now sleeping in one of the chairs in his office. WHY DIDN'T HE STAY HOME INSTEAD OF SPREADING GERMS HERE?????

Morning. jewels glad B is feeling better today. We just left to head back home. I need to meal plan for the rest of the week. The science museum is doing an event tonight at 6pm that we are planning to take the kids to. The dinosaur exhibit is about to leave, so it’s some type of extinction celebration for NYE. Should be fun.

Hey strangers! Sorry I’ve been MIA. Life’s been busy and hectic. But I’m officially laid off now till March so I should have nothing but time on my hands.
Today is my favorite day...cleaning lady day. And then S has speech and OT this afternoon. Tonight we are just hanging at the house and will probably be in bed early.

I've been enjoying the staycation life. Man I need to win the lotto. I can't believe it's the last day of the year 2020 sounds like the space age future.
I'm going to one of those hanging from the drapes yoga classes today. Then I'll take the kids to the Children's museum. Tonight will be board games and I'll see how long I manage to stay up.

klong11 Allergies (or whatever the hell cedar fever is) wouldn't have you in the bathroom for a half hour. I would tell him he should go home. And then maybe leave for an extra long coffee break. How annoying.

My TKD instructor wanted me to teach an exercise class last night and tonight. He gave absolutely no guidance and wanted it to go for a full hour which is excessive because without a full gym's worth of equipment and participants who are likely out of shape you can do plenty in 45 minutes (the typical length of classes there so it's stupid to go over time if someone's kid is in class).
So I went last night, he wasn't even there. Someone else took over and led the whole class so it was a waste of my time. I'm leading tonight. The model of last night's class was 15 minute warm up and cool down which is so long and drawn out.
The instructor keeps coming up with these half-assed plans. He thinks people will pay $30 a month for this (they won't). Last night only 3 people showed up and 1 left halfway through. I told him I'd help with the trial run these 2 days but apparently last night he said something about wanting to do this class at 6. That's during my TKD class which I pay a shit ton of money for. I'm not teaching some Beachbody for beginners for free and missing classes I want to take. 🤨

I took a note from @wine and made egg and cheese sandwiches with a little schmear of ketchup AND strawberry jam. It’s delightful.

This is way worse than cedar. I would tel him that if he isn’t leaving, you are because it could very well be contagious. What an ass.

Morning from the couch, where I'm "working" while Colin throws himself around the room, tossing around a football and giving me the play-by-play. Needless to say, he's feeling significantly better today. Chase is at daycare for the morning and DH has temporarily escaped to the gym. He did promise to bring up a good bottle of wine from the basement for the night, which, good luck to him. Not much has been tasting right to me lately - I'm curious if it's another stress-related symptom? I've certainly been having some weird GI pain since my Dad's preliminary diagnosis. I woke up feeling a bit guilty over not going to FL and my stomach was in knots. In other news, a guy I "know" on Strava pointed me in the direction of a really good article on HR training, which validated a lot of what I was thinking, while also providing me with a ton of structure for my training over the next few months. It probably kills any plans for winter racing BUT should put me in a good place for a spring half and if all goes well, in a good place mentally and physically for a fall marathon. But it's going to require a lot of patience and trust in the process. It helps that I spent my 20s being told I ran too many "junk" miles without enough speedwork - i.e., extensive base training - but I was consistently racing beyond my own expectations. So I know it works, I just have to stick with it. And find time for it... I suppose that would make an excellent resolution, since it would be good for me both mentally and physically. Happy New Year!
