I have to figure out what to get for Pete as a gift from the kids. And I don’t have the first idea what I should give Tim, either. Blah. That’s nice of you. My parents never bought each other gifts from us kids when we were growing up. My parents did it for us and it seemed thoughtful even though they despised each other, so I just figured I should, too.🤷♀️

tgrimes I'm glad someone is taking it seriously. I'm not quite sure I agree with the diagnosis though. Why not? What questions do you think I should ask when I get another appt? What do I need to push for? Help! I don't know. It just sounds like a more scientific way of "he'll grow out of it", which when they said that the other day we were like, oh hell no, burn it down. I still think, in my uneducated non medical experience, that it sounds like the IgM deficiency we had discussed previously.

joelies I’m sorry about your dad. tgrimes I’m glad you found someone who was at least sympathetic. Today 5 minutes before I was leaving for work, T woke up crying that he almost threw up in his bed. Then C had some major coughing attack so DH kept them both home. Of course an hour later they were fine. Tonight we are getting some combo of ice/snow so waiting to see what happens with school tomorrow.

joelies I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Hoping it sounds worse than it is. Also TP to your h, get it together dude. I'd prob send a calendar reminder and/or just take over for incompetence. But yeah, not that big of a deal in the grade scheme of things.

Despite getting minimal work done, I had a pretty good day. Instead of commuting home, right at 5 we decorated a gingerbread house, then j had cut out gingerbread men and had us decorate them, then draw a group picture of santa and his sleigh. And then after dinner my MIL brought out her whole Christmas Town and we set that up and mh's old train they had under the tree, which is sweet. And mh and I both got in 20 min rides before bedtime.
I have a team lunch tomorrow and it's a whit elephant with the theme of "as seen on TV". Any ideas of what I can buy at CVS? I hate this nonsense..

tallb oh so many good gifting opportunities at CVS--pretty sure they have an As Seen On TV section. We have a "bacon bowl" that circulates in our family every year (you never know who's going to unwrap it), Chia pets, any kind of personal care/fitness item (no-snore strap, Shake Weight, Wonder Arms), Sock Slider...

I still think, in my uneducated non medical experience, that it sounds like the IgM deficiency we had discussed previously. I get it. That’s why I want his immunoglobulin levels checked again. Although when I brought it up to her she said she wouldn’t recommend the prophylactic antibiotic for him, which would be the treatment for selective IgM deficiency. I was telling MH that I felt like we were still in the same place we were before, but maybe she explained it better than anyone else has. There’s no definitive testing for either one so I’m kind of screwed either way. She’s still ordering a few more tests. I know one was his T cells but I can’t remember the others. I need to do some more research.

tgrimes, I’m glad the doctor seems like an advocate. And do a lot of research on what she’s mentioning to see what can be done to help H in the interim. joelies, i’m so sorry about your dad. I hope it something they can take care of quickly. cagoldi and others, we let the kids choose gifts for each other and for the other parent. We end up with a monthly assortment of gifts but it does make them very happy to have the autonomy to choose.

Lol - vino no shake weights were available. I got the egg cookers that make she'll less hard boiled eggs and some lids that stretch over any bowl. I also got back my own item and my friend didn't want the egg, so I think I will return both!
