No snow here! I'm watching my 3 niece's. The 8mo old is teething and so cranky. Hoping I can get her down for a nap soon.

I haven't grocery shopped in 3 weeks. I just did a big order and now going in to get the 3 things I forgot. Taking lunch to my mom and she has an early present for the boys because she has 0 self control lol.
She's doing alot better than I thought she would. She's definitely sad but she's not wallowing and staying in bed- which is what I was expecting.

I passed out around 8:30 last night but actually feel alive now. I need to finish getting a few little things for teachers.
My husband will be cleaning the house because it looks like crap and that's thanks to him.

Morning! Beautiful snow peachsmama! (and better you than me ) This week is crammed full of last minute appointments, etc. plus the regular stuff...IDK what I was thinking when I scheduled all this! Probably should set a bunch of reminders on my phone or we're going to no-show for something, lol. Tonight I'm having a catch-up dinner with a friend; this afternoon I need to make a grocery run and look for a new work-out jacket for DH.

Hi ya'll!
We had a fun but busy weekend. Saturday one of S BFFs from DC had his birthday party, then we were invited back for the "afterparty" and stayed way too late. I left when B fell asleep on the couch watching a movie and apparently fell off - one of the other moms brought him to me and he said " I go to sleep now, mommy, right here on you" and patted my shoulder to lie down. OK kid, I get the hint.
Sunday we had a bunch of new friends over from his school. Seems like a good little group of boys S has been playing with and the moms were all nice. So that's good. Then, MH fell in our garage and was wimpering all evening so that was fun

Oh! So last night I put B to bed, then immediately moved the Elf before I forgot.
Normally our children stay in their beds and we do not hear a peep out of them. But last night B needed to come out to tell us he was taking his socks off b/c they were too hot  And OF COURSE he immediately spotted the elf in its new position.
I played dumb and acted surprised, and said I guess he must've had something *really* important to tell Santa.
So note to all my fellow elf-households...do not move the elf at 8 pm like I did.

Crazy productive day over here & even snuck in coffee with a friend. Groceries, got a new pair of pants for ds, gift wrapping supplies & did meal prep for the kids meals for the next two weeks (pasta/soups), plus I got most of the presents I needed to get. Wrapped a ton, finished the teachers gifts (really small, most people don’t even do teacher gifts over here). I even got my neighbour a box of really nice handmade chocolates, he always accepts packages for us when we’re out, so I figured this was a nice acknowledgement. I really really hope this all will help next week .

jewels that's great! Sounds like you are finding a nice groove with other families. I was just telling my sister this morning that I think having a kid in school has been good for my social life, lol. Much easier to meet people now.

That, combined with the tennis elbow, was enough to make me say “eff it,” and get out the Little Tikes trampoline, slide, and basketball set to keep my heathens busy. They were supposed to be Christmas gifts. It was an act of PURE desperation.

Yeah, we got really close to our little group from DC so I've been nervous about branching out. But I keep telling myself, they don't need to be my besties, just people I can relax with a glass of wine while our kids tear apart each others' houses. So far, so good.

I move him early in the morning when I’m cooking breakfast, but this is also risky. Today, the brought them Elf cereal, and they were so excited it was as if they’d won the Lottery. Not even sure why I bothered to make them banana muffins and bacon. That sugar laden stuff is all they cared about.

I broke it when I was six (badly), and it’s deformed. Sparky accidentally stepped on it in just the right spot, and crunch. So I am not sure if she had gotten a different finger or knuckle it would have been the same. Guess I’m just lucky!

I'm over here deliberating on gifts for DH, he is the last person on my list. I wish he was slightly more materialistic, lol. Hard to buy for someone who apparently doesn't want or need anything (except like, a Traeger grill, which I am planning to do next year once we are settled in the new house, etc).

Only this year I wanted to get something thoughtful and meaningful, he has been nothing short of amazing these past few weeks (well he always is, but more so now). Normally I’m good at this, but I can’t think of anything this year. We always make a deal not to get anything foreach other, but this will be probably the first year I’ll actually not get him something 😕.

Maybe you should gift him a tropical vacation for the 2 of you 😉

In true holiday fashion, mh just bought himself a video game that I had already purchased to give him as a gift. He does this every year. I'm so annoyed with this crap. I told him I didn't want to exchange gifts and just focus on Cadence, but nooooo. He then asks me to send him links to what I want so he can just purchase what I send him. That's not fun. I don't enjoy that. Merry Christmas.

Hi hi - j has a snow day and I had orientation at K's daycare so I decided not to take N all the way in..so it's my MIL and all 3 kids. Orientation was good, they think we can start 1/21, so that's good. There was a new family that has a nanny and was asking if they can bring clothes diapers and asked if teachers are comfortable using a nose frieda. Um gross. K has teacher that was an aide for j when he was little, she recognized me and remembers his helmet.

I have to figure out what to get for Pete as a gift from the kids.
And I don’t have the first idea what I should give Tim, either. Blah.
