Oh man mwhip this all sounds not delightful. Even if the merger turns out for the best, announcing it right before the holidays is not a good plan, IMO--I would have waited til after the new year (although there may be tax implications or something, who knows).

Glad H is getting some spoiling at Grandma's tgrimes --hope you have a big car to bring home all his new loot! lol

Definitely a big round of applause to klong11 , you are so good about the bday threads!

I've been told my job is safe, but I know what I do can be done from anywhere, so I read my indeed.com emails daily!  Three people are losing their jobs, but one is our CEO and I know he negotiated a 2 year contract for a different position.  But he's not going to explain it that way.  He was part of what has made this drag on so long.  

As of Thursday at midnight, my company will cease to be in operation.  Real checks are being cut to pay everyone through Thursday.  These checks will be handed out Tuesday to all employees (production and management) at our Christmas Lunch, when the new company will announce they bought us.  There are a lot of people who have no clue any of this is happening.  I think it's been poorly communicated and the damn Christmas lunch is not the time to make the announcement.  

OMG yes that is awful.  I have been part of this process 2 times and while I think we handled it poorly, my goodness, we never did anything like that!

Today is B’s big day and I’ve never seen him more excited, lol. We got donuts after speech and put candles in his (my kids love fire 🤷🏻‍♀️) and he chatted with my parents and sister/nephew this morning before school.

DH is due home shortly and I’m going to head to Dillard’s for some Xmas shopping—they’re doing 20% off today for military 🎉🙌🏻 B has golf after school so we’ll do cake and presents tonight after dinner.

lfig I hope you find someone quickly. That's rough.

B is amazing. No fever today. His white blood count went from 38K to 14K in less than 24 hours. But he is on a high dose of Antibiotices, steroids, and inhalers and the dr wants him home till Friday so he can kick this infection before being in day care again. My mom happened to be off today till 3:00 so I have her watching him till 3, then the back up sitter coming at 3. Tomorrow I was able to piece together coverage with the reg babysitter till 10 and the back up sitter from 10-2:30 , so I can at least work 8-1:30.

Oh, and tgrimes, the injections were actually high dose of Antibiotics so I guess basically what flamingo had. Except now he's on oral antibiotics for the next 10 days too. Man, the poops we are going to have... OYE!!

They would... but i don't want to ask them because they are leaving in a month for a 2 month trip in their new RV.  So they have a lot going on between trying to get the house ready to be listed and getting ready for their trip.  So I will use them as a last resort.  MH and I are tossing around a few ideas and I have a high schooler that we have used before that I am hoping might be able to help.

Well boo...I may have solved my own babysitting problem for the short term...I just talked to my boss and it looks like I will be getting furloughed soon. I was hoping I would get to work through the winter this year. But no such luck.

No, I didn’t take the new position. I’m in my same job that I’ve been at for 10 years. They just keep dangling the carrot of converting me to year round.

I placed an online order this morning for Walmart (A bunch of games for the kids), and when I walked into the store, I had to go through the toy aisle to get to pick up at the back of the store, and I saw that the Barbie plane was marked down significantly.
It’s giant, but I picked it up and I’m feeling pretty good about that purchase.
Also, those of you who are fans of the Picasso tiles, on Amazon, they are $30 for 60 pieces with a $5 coupon.
The 100 piece set is 49.99, so I was able to do two separate purchases for the 60 piece box, and it cost me the same amount but I’m getting an additional 20 tiles.

I am home and have the house to myself...DH took both kids to B's golf lesson. I need to start dinner prep in a few minutes but right now I'm just enjoying a glass of wine and a cheese stick, lol.

I got a lot of Christmas shopping taken care of at Dillards and stopped by the Clinique counter for a couple things I was out of. I've been stalking a handbag for my Christmas list and they had it on sale so I sent pics to DH (nothing like a subtle hint  ) lahdeedah  there are some good sales going now through Sunday if you're interested. Current, in-season stuff...which I feel like is rare for Dillards!
