Ain't nothing wrong with being a millennial! I'm 35 and decidedly a millennial or at least a xennial. You can be Gen X if you prefer, but Gen Z are currently in their mid teens to early 20s. We def ain't them. I'll be 33 in a few months, and 34 is solid millennial territory. I'm happy to claim her. Whippersnapper

We def ain't them. Yeah, I thought us mid-30s people were considered “xennials”. Or the Oregon Trail generation or something. Either way, I didn’t have a cell phone until I was 17 and I had to hit the 7 4x to get an S when I was texting and texts cost like 10 cents to send so you made that shit count. I learned how to text in the UK bc in the early 2000's texting was cheaper than calling. H came back to the states in 2004 and nobody would answer his texts.

I can't keep track of the generation names. I'm older than her though and I will not be lumped in with millenials 😒 😜 Ain't nothing wrong with being a millennial! My H and I have always struggled with the Millennial label bc we are on the cusp by birth year, but we both had older / very old school parents so our upbringing did not reflect those of the stereotypical millenial. Our siblings, OTOH......

I use the rough bench mark that if you were in high school (or younger) at the time of 9/11, you are a millennial.

Carrol Spinney (the guy inside the Big Bird costume) died. He retired last year, I think. 💛😢💛 Rene Auberjonois also passed away (he was 79). He was the original Father Mulcahy in the MASH movie, Odo in ST: Deep Space Nine, and the voice of Chef Louis in Little Mermaid.😢

I use the rough bench mark that if you were in high school (or younger) at the time of 9/11, you are a millennial. I was a sophomore. But like, a really MATURE sophomore. So. #doesntapplytome (is that what the kids still do? hashtags? am I on fleek? I don't even know.)

I was a junior in college on 9/11. I'm one of those in-between people, with some Gen X qualities and some Millennial qualities. I prefer being called "The Oregon Trail Generation".

I lean into the millennial label because then I can throw it into certain people's faces when they bitch about millennials. (I'm in the in between Oregon Trail part by age.)

I am torn because I have definitely never wanted to be a Millennial. I remember life without internet and cell phones so I think it's weird to be lumped all in with kids who grew up with that stuff. And 9/11 to those of us in HS was really fucking disturbing and formative, as it was to those in college (and of course, older) - we were paying attention and feeling it along with everyone else. And then of course there's the Millennial stereotype which no one wants to be saddled with.
--BUT--
I also think it's the Boomers who have led the "millennials are terrible" charge and they are scientifically proven to be The Actual Worst. So, I find myself leaning into it because seriously fuck them. I don't want them to be able to define our generation in those terms. If I am going to be a Millennial, then I am going to be comfortable with it and own it and not get saddled with or bothered by their shit stereotypes.

I'm a millennial. And one of my favorite things is when people complain about millennials to me so I can get "offended" and remind them of that. Even better when it's a Boomer saying this as I can remind them that it's often their children who make up my generation. My parents are on the younger end of the Boomer range.

And it cracks me up to no end that after years of shitting on millennials, people are up in arms about "OK Boomer." Fucking suck it up and deal with it and realize your time is almost done. Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z outnumber you. By a lot. And it's our turn. (I know Gen Z is pretty young, but the oldest are college age now.) And definitely watch out when my kids (Gen Alpha) are adults because I'm doing my damnedest to make them the complete opposite of the stereotypical Boomer. My parents are young Boomers and not stereotypical. They are cheering on and working with us, not against us. Even in my conservative area, my youngest age group are all about saving the planet, conservation, and making sure everyone is included.
So YEP
