This is my first time starting Randoms. Kind of surprising considering how much I post/how early my days start.
Gonna combo with tomorrow since it's the holiday

Every year I say I'm going to make the Barefoot Contessa's Independence Day Cake but never do. I feel like it's a good pregnant activity. I'd post a pic but I despise Tapa.

I'm just happy that he'll be home

Happy your husband is coming home, racegurl!
I'm at work today. Hardly anyone else is so I hope it's a slow day and they let us out a few hours early. I can't wait til tomorrow. We are grilling ribs and chicken and steak. Maybe I should do a dessert since others are doing the cooking.

DH and I are in full blown nesting mode. We replaced 3 light fixtures (the old ones worked but were super dated and ugly), and I'm in the process of repainting DS's bathroom cabinet (going from black to white so I am on coat #2 and need a third and still need to fine sand the drawers and paint them, ugh). I got 4 boxes of clothes to go to Goodwill including winter maternity clothes (I mean really, I'm never going to use them). DH is tidying random places in the house. I ordered a new rug for the TV room because DH f'd up the old one trying to clean it with a pressure washer (no joke) and anyway it was a bit too small. I feel like there is so much to do, I have to keep reminding myself all this baby needs at first is a bassinet and diapers (have already re-stuffed the cloth diapers!). DH keeps looking around exasperated saying 'another person is going to be living here, this place is a mess!' and things like that. He's cute.

bootsorhearts1 I'm so impressed! It feels so good to run down a long list like that. Pregnant or not, my H and I go on these spurts. Too bad we alternate it with an even longer time of doing NOTHING!

I'm at work today as well. So jealous of people you had a 4 day weekend. Since it was slow and I didn't have anyone to babysit DS for about 2 hours, I brought him to the office until DH finished worked. Of course he was the star of the show and kept getting people to pay attention to him lol. He's such a character.

Had a fun day yesterday! My parents, sister, and BIL stopped by to hang out. Watched my dad try VR for the first time, which was pretty amusing. DH and BIL cooked out on the grill for dinner~
My boss gave the team all half-days today, and I took the later shift. Went out with DS, mom, and sister to a mall this morning to wander around and get some lunch. Got DS a mickey mouse stuffed animal at the Disney store and he loves it. Now a few hours of work before another day off!

racegurl87, I'm so glad your H will be home soon! I'm hitting another nesting spurt after a week of doing very little. I just cleaned the kitchen and vacuumed, and if i could lift any of the boxes left in the garage, i would be unpacking. DS has decided to be a daredevil today. We haven't mounted his dresser to the wall here yet because we want to repaint his room first, and he pulled it down this morning and then fell down the stairs. Luckily i was right there both times, and he is fine, but couldn't he give me a break for my birthday?

curmudgeon it was queso the saga continues for me today. Just as good as the first time! i don't know why I find this so funny. And before this pregnancy I hardly ordered/made queso and now I need it every time we go out for Mexican food. Which is a lot. Gimme all the queso.

racegurl87 Hooray for your H's homecoming this week! trinitrotoluene Happy Birthday! Hope you get lots of cake and ice cream! DS's party went well yesterday. Even though most of our family couldn't make it, he still had a blast! This morning he had a little play date at our apartment. We went swimming for a while, then had leftover pizza and cake from yesterday. Now he's napping, and I'm treating myself to another piece of cake.

I'm here! Life is hectic so I've been lurking and liking when I can. I'm currently getting a pedicure (DHs gift to me for my bday next week). I never take time for myself and sitting still for an hour seems like a waste, but these dinosaur feet need some working on!
I noticed that I'm incredibly swollen...down there. Anyone else? I brought it up at my appt today and the doctor said it's either from moving too much and that I need to lay down more (lol ok) or varicose vein's (eek!!). Im hoping it's bc I upped my "exercise" routine this past month.

Also, this is such a basic question, but what do you guys consider the third trimester? The poster at the docs today said 25 weeks, but I've always thought later. I know it doesn't matter, but ahhh 3rd trimester?!

I forget what I considered last time around. Maybe 28? I feel like this has been the longest pregnancy ever (we found out SO early), same with my last, I'm rushing it when I know that's a very dumb thing to do haha

My second is an Oct baby and you go through all the seasons pretty much.

I'm all turned around. Cold chocolate cake with Vanilla buttercream frosting! A layered cake with a generous amount of frosting in between those two layers.

I I had such a good time at my parents With DD! Lots of swimming and family time. H said DD and I are just as pale as when we left so I think I got the sunscreen application down. I'm so tired though - DD and I had to share a room since everyone was home and she's not the quietest of sleepers (or I'm not the heaviest of sleepers?) so I'm looking forward to her being in her own space tonight and sleeping in tomorrow morning.
