OMG racegurl87 I'm so excited your H comes home this week! I will admit that I'm a bit jealous of your deployment lengths AFM, I did too much today and I knew it. We have a 4th of July parade down out street every year and I'm usually the one in charge of making sure the outside looks okay. This year I've been slacking so I had a lot to do today (and of course I put it off until the day before). It was 94 and I was outside doing hard work for too long. I feel like shit and I'm mega paranoid that I hurt baby - even though I know she's fine. Gah.

And I just found a dead lady bug in my McDonald's salad.
So, that's pretty much how my day is going.

racegurl87 Yay for your H coming home! bootsorhearts1 That's impressive! My DH has a love for the pressure washer too, that's sounds like something he would do. trinitrotoluene Happy birthday! cythe That's super gross. AFM I took a few vacay days and don't have to go back to work until Monday. I've got a bunch of stuff on my to do list so I'm going to drop DD off at daycare. I just got home from work and DH has decided to make me some jalapeño poppers because I didn't get any from his batch he made on Saturday. I'm hungry and can't wait.

I'm terribly behind and trying to get caught up. We had a great day with my family Saturday. My sister and I ran around town for a couple hours and it was so fun. We came home with Amish pies, peaches, and other goodies. Oh, and Dairy Queen!! The DQ in my hometown is the best one, ice cream just tastes better there. It's an old one with only a walk up window. Today we went to the zoo and I set a record step count! Paying for it now, but we all had fun. Family nap time commenced shortly after we got home. It's been a really good weekend!!! I finally cleaned out the closet in DS's new room after our naps and moved everything over from the closet in the nursery. We worked in the nursery a bit and it felt good to get that stuff done. I'm beat though. Tomorrow will be low key, for sure.

racegurl87 Yay for your H coming home soon! trinitrotoluene Happy birthday! cythe Like was for commiseration. I think I stood up too long yesterday and had a bunch of stomach pains in the middle of the night. I know baby is fine too, but I get the same feeling, like - crap - I've ruined everything. CoachTsWife I love the original walk up window DQs too! We had one in my hometown and it was always packed in the summer with long lines. Ah the memories.... It's already the 4th of July here, so Happy Independence Day to everyone! We're going to show DS some 4K videos of fireworks and DH somehow found a place that sells corn dogs with corn on the cob. Hahaha....let's hope it's good....corn dogs in Southeast Asia...I'm kind of skeptical until I taste it. Either way, we're going all America today!

Hoping to get to work this weekend. cythe hope you can get some rest and feel better We've been enjoying the beach and the pool. Went to fireworks on Saturday night and we're going again tonight. Happy Independence Day today everyone! racegurl87 , so psyched for you that your DH is coming back. How long is he back for? Happy bday trinitrotoluene , hoping you had a good one and good cake too! cythe , rest up and hope you can enjoy the parade today. Taitai , yeah, sausages of any kind in SEA is questionable lol! Although when I was a kid my mom used to get frozen frankfurters whenever we're down in the city and from memories were delicious weekend breakfast treats. They were German imported though. We jumped started our all American good eats yesterday! Since I was out at the Drs. In town and lazy and can't do much, I picked up fried chicken from a restaurant and I made potato salad ( Japanese style lol. Not quite American but I prefer it and so does hubs ) with steamed corn and a creamy cabbage slaw. Today hubs is going to fire up some steaks and asparagus and I'll make chimichurri sauce to go over it.- well not quite American again but chimichurri is so good!

duskymonkey The corn dogs were surprisingly okay! I found out they were actually from a Japanese place down the road. Random thing for a Japanese bakery to make. I don't really like hot dogs in general, but DS loves them and he gobbled his down with a smile!

Taitai, Japanese yoshoku dishes are actually quite good! I actually love them like their potato salad. Here's a confession, I've never eaten a corn dog ever. Please don't stone me.

Happy 4th of July to all that are celebrating! Keep the all food talk coming! I have to meal plan for the rest of the week, right now I want queso, corn and cake... not sure how to make that into a meal.
I just realized Sunday was my V day, I'm due the 22nd so most of us should reach that day by this time next week! It's crazy to think that in 16 weeks more or less we will all have outside babies!

Happy 4th, everyone!! We are planning on taking the boat for a ride and swim today after lunch at MIL's. Also, we finally started painting the nursery yesterday so I am excited to at least be making a little progress in there. racegurl87, yay for your H coming home soon! I know you're excited. Whoever it was that mentioned cake, I would now like some. Too bad I'm making myself be extra good until my glucose test Thursday. 👎🏻 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Happy 4th everyone!
We're headed up to my inlaws after DD's nap. Hopefully it's a nice long one as we're gonna try to keep her up for fireworks tonight.
Everyone take it easy today! It sounds like a lot of us have been extra ambitious lately so let's all be sure to drink a lot of water and put our feet up for a little bit anyway!!!

Fair warning: mini inlaws rant ahead
My MIL bought one of those mini blowup pools for kids, maybe 24-30 inches when fully inflated. My SIL and MIL saw NOTHING wrong with leaving my 5 yr old niece outside alone to watch my 3 yr old niece, my 2 yr old DD, and 20 month old nephew!?!?!?! They invited me to come back into the house after we brought the kids out and said we'd just check on them through the window and 5yr old niece could yell if anything happened. I was stunned speechless. Who leaves children unattended near water? Neither my DD nor my nephew are big enough to climb over the edge of this pool should they want out - not that I think leaving the 3 and 5 year old is any better! But seriously! Apparently my nieces and nephews play outside in their play pool at home by themselves all the time (no idea what size the pool is, not that it matters). I try really hard not to judge too much because I know I can be extra about a lot of things but H and I are going to have a long talk on the car ride home tonight about rules should we ever let DD come up here this summer by herself. Meanwhile, I just got to sit out in the hot sun supervising the kiddos for over an hour while all the adults were in the house...

Meanwhile, I just got to sit out in the hot sun supervising the kiddos for over an hour while all the adults were in the house... Wow - that is really, really dangerous thinking on the part of your MIL and SIL. It's completely irresponsible too. Honestly, I would not let my kids over at their homes (without me or DH) if I knew stuff like that would go down. Where we live, it is super hot and everyone has swimming pools. There is a big problem here with kids being unsupervised around water and drowning - even in buckets of water or little kiddie pools. It often is a toddler who drowns, and other small kids were supposed to be watching the victim. I read about it waaaaay too much and it is heartbreaking. There was just an incident last week in our neighborhood. ☹️ I think the line of thinking your MIL and SIL have is similar to the thinking over here, and it's very dangerous. Kids die from it regularly here. You are not being extra at all. Sorry you have to deal with this

danvers I would not feel any kind of comfortable with "bigger" kids watching small kids. I would definitely not leave DD with your in-laws around water alone. I don't think you're overreacting at all

danvers I'm sitting outside in the hot sun with you. No way, no how would I be leaving a 5 year old I'm charge of even smaller kids. Hell, I wouldn't leave the 5 year old out by herself.

danvers - what everyone else said. Reading that makes me want to puke. A couple years ago by where I live, a family left one of those real small pools out in their backyard. Their 18 month old got outside while they were putting groceries away and fell in and died. No amount of water is safe unsupervised as far as I'm concerned. That would really rile me up if I were you. I would you not allow either to watch my child unless I was assured there wasn't a pool.

danvers, just saw this, that is so unsafe! and water or not, if that's how they think about keeping watch on kids I wouldn't trust them to watch my kids at all! Sorry not sorry. All it takes is 1 accident. Call me whatever you please but DS is rarely out of my sight for 2 minutes. If we are home and I cant hear him after about 2 mins, I'll go looking or calling out. If he's quiet during those couple mins, I usually find him up to no good.
