I felt like an old British gentleman drinking whiskey and doing grandfather clock research last night. It would have been more fitting with my usual gin and tonic but I still felt old.
It's pouring here so I'm betting it's going to be an extra long inside day. The toddler just found photo booth. Anyone want a bajillion selfies?

Lakes, DD likes to grab my phone and take pics too. I know they're hers because they all have half a finger in them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anyone get their iud yet? I forget who was going to get one.
I spotted on the day I got mine but haven't since. Normal? Or should I continue to wear liners just in case? Based on what I'd heard I'd expected spotting for like a month.

ellabee I had no spotting for a couple days and then 3 weeks of random spotting. I think it varies a lot from person to person.

Last workday of the week here and this 3 day week has seemed SO long. We're headed to the beach tomorrow once H gets off work. I'll be home with both kids all day and committed to having the car packed when he gets home. We'll see how that goes! Also I've been thinking more about weaning lately. And feeling all the guilt bc I don't really have a reason, I just don't want to pump or schedule my off days around nursing.

Lakes, I love your old man life. ellabee, carry a liner just in case. I had period-like bleeding for two weeks after my IUD. It was the opposite of fun. So I know it's not advised to let babies sleep in a RNP, especially if they can roll but... I did it. B kept waking up and fussing in his crib. He was so congested. I put him in the RNP and dragged it right next to my side of the bed. I also blasted the humidifier right at him. He slept the best he's slept in days. I finally got to sleep more than 3 hours. I feel guilty that I took that chance for such a selfish reason but I'm happy we both got to rest. I did buckle him in for peace of mind but still, mom guilt.

Ditto Lakes heybulldog - you gotta do what you gotta do! FFTC: One time DD was sick and she was napping in the rnp. I put the humidifier like right over her head on a dresser on full blast. I came back 20 minutes later and she was sprinkled in like a fine morning dew lol.

And more sleep for B means faster recovery Yes! This! Don't beat yourself up heybulldog. That one doesn't sound unsafe to me when it's not on the reg and if he was buckled in, I'm not side eyeing this. One of my girlfriends had her baby in the RNP in her room until he was 6+ months old. Like I don't know how he physically fit in there.

Randomly turned on pbs because of the rain. I don't Daniel Tiger yet but it's the one where they take the baby to the clock factory for the first time. How fitting given my recent activities.

And thanks ladies. I had a bit of guilt but I seriously feel like a new person. And for that, I am grateful to the RNP, haha.

heybulldog, don't feel guilty sometimes when they are sick you just do what you have to. This is probably where I confess both my girls slept in the RNP way too long because of spitting up problems.

ellabee, I got an IUD at my 6 weeks appointment and still randomly have spotting. It might be different person to person but it annoys me greatly.

Just saying a brief hello. I'm sad I can't participate regularly. Oh well. Last night we booked our shore vacation. Yay. I also got a jury duty notice for mid July. Yuck would it be wrong to continue pumping just to hope I could get out of serving on a jury.

It was brought up in one of the many threads over on sterling's site. I think the plan may be to eventually pay the $10 to change it so that people can access the forum while at work. It would be like TCF was.

They have a "lactation room" (glorified closet) at the courthouse and one of my coworkers was just telling me about a lovely 3 days she had to spend using it. The worst.

I just bought swim stuff for both kiddos. Eek - summer's coming!
My parents have a pool that they just opened and they typically warm up the jacuzzi portion to bath-water temp for DD even though the pool will still be freezing.
I'm contemplating how we do swim lessons for her now... We're always gone on weekends so it's hard for us to commit to a YMCA-type class.

I'm sad that our group is split up but I also don't want to return to TCF. This sucks.

ellabee, I signed ds up for swim classes! I'm so excited. Especially because I do not have to wear a suit and get in the pool.

carrots beach weekend sounds so fun! Good luck getting packed up Breastfeeding is a team effort. If it isn't working out for you, you can quit. But you have to make the call. I'm a huge breastfeeding advocate but I'm also all about maternal mental health, so sometimes that means weaning or doing a formula/bf combo approach

He was sleeping on the dry half 😂

We've had a rough week. Sunday night DS went to bed with a runny nose. He got worse all day while home with DH. When I got home at 4:30 he was just sitting in the rocking chair, staring at the wall in a daze. If you have a toddler, this is a Bad Sign. Lethargy is bad.
Long story short: 104.4 fever. Took him to the pediatrician the next morning: double ear infection. And a cold.
He's miserable and super cranky. Not sleeping well. Wakes up scream crying multiple times a night.
FX that N doesn't get the cold. I'm praying that BF keeps her safe. I even snuck some pumped milk into DS's sippy of cow milk last night. Can't hurt.

My stomach is growling so loudly. My students are testing so the room is silent. I'm letting them believe it's one of their classmates.
