Ugh. My CC choice lost by 60 votes. And the incumbent/winner is already posting ridiculous comments.
The only upside is voter turnout was up 80% from the last local election.

never would I have anticipated KY having a Democratic governor and Mississippi's governorship being within 8 points of Democratic control. Trump is dragging down his party.

Our polls just closed minutes ago and we have several hotly contested city council and school board seats that could change the face of our community and I need results NAO and they aren't counting FAST ENOUGH.
We also have a referendum on affirmative action on the ballot that is being watched nationally and is kind of a nail biter.

whew, all of my personal electeds won. That was highly likely but I trust nothing. I just want to say, for the record, that this has only happened to me when voting for Obama in Chicago. Otherwise, my entire adult life has been voting for people that never ever ever win. I think that’s the struggle with reaching people. I often think “why bother” it’s hard. **I still vote And for that, I truly and genuinely thank you

Thank goodness. Kentucky was proof that the ACA worked and Bevin ruined it.

Would they have already counted abenstee? Unlikely unless the percentage of ballots cast as absentee was high enough to ding the margin of error

I’m over here almost peeing my pants for you all. I KNOCKED ON 433 DOORS FOR THIS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SYMPATHETIC PEEING. I AM FREAKING THE FUCK OUT. And I did not in any way mean to minimize your sympathy peeing. If I made it sound that way I am sorry. I was really flipping out.

The Dem commissioners didn’t get elected and I’m sad but not surprised. We live in a red stronghold and the rest of the county has been carrying us blue. However, my candidate said Dem voter turnout was DOUBLED for his race which is awesome.
But we swept the county council positions!! The headline reads “Democrats take control in X county for the first time since the Civil War”. I think most of the judges won too! I hope my area can keep the momentum going.

Woohooo! Congrats VA and KY! Huge wins! Bigly wins! I truly hope McConnell is shaking in his turtle shell.0
My D mayor won again, but only one out of my preferred Commissioners. Actually all of the folks who won were incumbents 🙄 so much for “we need different folks in charge!” My other Commissioner-hopeful only lost by about 120 votes but some of the comments make it seem like she tanked because of her name (it’s unusual). Racism at its finest.

I just yelled to my husband that I’m throwing money at Amy McGrath today and he came in and asked “why, doesn’t she have money from acting?” And I stared at him and he asked, “like from the Notebook?” And then I realized he thought I was talking about Rachel McAdams.
I’m laughing and also crying.

Ahh! I’m so happy about the VA results! I didn’t register to vote here so that I can keep voting in my hometown’s elections (we’ll go back someday), and I hate that feeling like I could be *doing* something instead of just watching the TV on election night. Thank you for all your hard work, dc2london!! On a side note, my super Trump hometown in IA just elected a young progressive mayor and I’m so happy. People my age started a write-in campaign for him and then voted like crazy. He got more than the total number of votes in the last mayoral election. He’s sending a clear message to the old white guys that their world is changing.
